IC: Shira Brie

I'm not trying to imply anything as such,”

Shira continued walking to the ship. She did not care to hear the rest of what he might say. Fury was building up inside her and she was quite enjoying it.

“I simply wanted to know if you knew anything about training Royal Guards,” he muttered. “I know from experience that it can be a very taxing, yet rewarding activity.”

Still walking, Shira turned her head and looked back at the guard. Did he not realize she could hear him? The woman quickend her pace. The faster she got to the ship, the faster she could get this over with. The captain called them to board right as Shira was stepping onto the ramp.

"You better hury or you might get left behind.", Shira called to the man behind her.

"Wouldn't that be terrible", she sarcastically muttered to herself.

She could sense the guard following her and another presence that she hadn't noticed earlier. It was Jade. The fury building inside her increased. Now she would have to be on the same ship as this infuriating guard and the woman who received the mission that Shira had wanted. Shira would have to stay calm and civil otherwise word may get back to the emperor.

Once she entered the Onslaught, the woman found a seat and began to meditate. and prepare herself for the long journey ahead.

GM Approved happy

Name: Able One Seven Oh Seven (CT-1707) a.k.a. “Able”
Species: Human (clone)
Gender: Male
Age: Chronologically 36, Biologically ~70
Height: 1.83 m
Skin Color: Tan
Eye Color: Brown
Hair Color: Black and grey
Homeworld: Kamino
Weapons: Standard kit (Blaster rifle and pistol when mission specifies. Handful of grenades, medkit, etc.)
Possessions: Whatever the Alliance provides
Profession: Rebel Alliance Intelligence operative
Languages: Basic
Allignments: The Alliance to Restore the Republic
Appearance:

(Think Jango Fett +30 years)

Biography: Able One Seven Oh Seven was one of millions of clones bred on Kamino for the Grand Army of the Republic. He would see his first action ten years into his accelerated life with the breakout of the Clone Wars. As part of one of the greatest fighting forces the galaxy had ever seen, 1707 served under Jedi General Shaak Ti, seeing a year of combat before his gunship was shot down over an uninhabited planet. He survived the crash and the following fighting with the Separatists, though the rest of his unit died in the fighting. Alone, CT-1707 survived for the next twenty years, using his gunship’s wreckage to build shelter and living off of the jungle. His solitude ended, however, during the Galactic Civil War when a small Rebel force landed on the planet, soon followed by the Empire. Seeing uniforms similar to his own, CT-1707 tried to report for duty, but was fired upon by the confused Imperials. He later encountered Rebel Commander Narra and Luke Skywalker and questioned them, hoping to get answers on just what was going on. Narra explained what had happened to the galaxy after the Clone Wars and, after Luke ignited his lightsaber, stretched the truth claiming that Luke was a Jedi Knight. CT-1707 pledged to serve “General” Skywalker and helped the Rebels escape the Imperial forces. After escaping the planet CT-1707, now going by “Able”, agreed to join the Alliance Intelligence Corps, where he would serve beside the likes of Commander Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia Organa, Deena Shan, and Sergeant Basso. Nearly four years later, he continues the Alliance’s struggle to restore freedom to the galaxy, unaware of his former “general”’s fateful choice....

OOC: I hate to be a ticked off GM, but let's take a look at some...

Logistical Issues!!!! (Muahahahaha...)

Post Quality: This is the easier one to deal with. No one likes to read posts with spelling/formatting issues. SaintHeart's Stickied Thread isn't only useful for new players, it's useful for all players, and I'd like to be able to hold the posts made here to the standard set in that discussion. Really, give it a read. You're guaranteed to learn something.

Feel free to make involved, exploratory posts. We're roleplaying, so get into your character's head. It'll give you, me, and the other players more to work with. That being said, I'd prefer a quality short post over not-so-great one you just throw off.

I don't feel like this is a major issue here, and I'm writing this mostly as a reminder. Take your time, and it'll benefit every one. That being said...

Darth Real Life: I realize the game is moving slowly. It started to move slow because certain players weren't responding, which means certain storylines lag, which means that in order for people to not have to play catch up and be in different points in time IC at the same time OOC, the game has to slow down. What happens next is that other players, taking into account the slow pace of the game, post slower themselves. I'd love it if we could keep things clipping along at a steady pace so that players don't lose interest and leave, something I fear has already happened to a few of our players. The best way to prevent this is to respond to your tags within a reasonable time.

I know people are busy, especially at this time of year, but I have trouble believing that one can't find time to write a decent post once a week. If you lag, we all suffer.

ON TO THE HAPPY NEWS: Welcome to our new players!

IC: Mara Jade

Mara approached the bridge without interference once again, and looked out at the blue tunnel of hyperspace as she approached the Captain. She found him, crisp in his uniform, deep in thought. She thought he seemed like a man that had been through much, and then remembered his file: his homeworld had been Alderaan, a sacrifice at the altar of Order. No time for sentiment or sensitivity.

"Perhaps we should extend a welcome party to our new guests," she suggested, her tone a friendly one, though still domineering.

TAG: Inquisitor_Skywalker

IC: Sian Tevv, SoroSuub Spaceport, Sullust

Sian Tevv took dove behind the cover of an igneous formation, the branching tips of which splintered and exploded when impacted with blaster fire, the tips of each shard having reverted to the molten form of its birth. Also behind this particular rock was Commander Col Serra of Renegade Squadron. Unfortunatley, Tevv had approached from the wrong side, and was now forced to try to make eye contact with the burly human's eyepatch. Never a pleasant experience.

"When are your boys going to get that shield shut down?" Tevv shouted over the din of battle. "There are a lot more Sullustans dying out there right now than you Rebels, I've noticed."

Serra growled. Before answering, he broke cover and squeezed off three shots in the direction of the spaceport. "They'll have it down when they have it down, Tevv! I trust my men. Maybe you should, too." Again, he fired into the battle. "And frankly, I'm more worried about that kriffing droid!"

Technically, the men in question weren't Serra's. They belonged to SpecForce, and they were making their way to the shield generator to both shut down the shield generator defending the SoroSuub spaceport - and the Imperial transports held within - and the lightning conduit powering IG-88, a bounty hunter hired to mow down Rebel soldiers.

The battle was a diversion, meant to draw the Imperial Fleet away from Endor. So far it hadn't been working, and now the best the Rebels could ask for was to maintain control of Sullust and to not all be killed by Imperial forces, which included the deadly 501st Legion, Vader's fist. So far they had made a good showing - much of the Imperial force was retreating to the surface, where they had a better hold on things, where their control was firmer, and where they could unite with forces coming in from orbit. The Rebels had been aided by the Sullustan resistance, led by Sian Tevv, as well as defected members of the Sullustan Home Guard, but right now they needed to make a final push or they would be trapped under ground.

"Well," Tevv said, this time taking a chance to fire at Imperial forces, "let's see if they can deliver. Then maybe I'll trust them."

IC: Chewbacca

He hated leaving Leia. Humans in general seem to have a knack of getting into trouble. Han and Leia seem to have perfected this habit. The only reason he had agreed to leave her there was because of Yoda. It had been a long time since he had seen the old Jedi Master, but they had known each other well. War would do that to beings. He felt much better that he was leaving Leia in Yoda’s care.

Still he wasn’t to anxious about Lando’s plan. He hated being restrained in any way, a trait he picked up from his time as a slave to the Empire. Also with things already not going well at Jabba’s palace, he didn’t want to be handicapped more than he had to be.

The had just made orbit when Lando activated the comm. and punched in Jan’s frequency “We’re here, darling. Why don’t you tell us where to meet you?”
Chewie started to enter the atmosphere on approach to Jan’s coordinates. They would have to link up and figure out how to salvage this plan.

OOC: Hey, BobaMatt? I was wondering if you wanted me to do my old post again. If that's all right with you, that is...

IC: Deena Shan, Sullustan Tunnels, before going towards her X-wing and away from the Planet Sullust

Deena Shan had so many thoughts in her head. She really wanted to believe that Luke Skywalker was still alive. To her, Luke was a strong and skillful guy. More like skillful Jedi. It was just that Deena thought of him as a good friend and leader. She sighed.

Then she began to comlink Sian Tevv. "Sian Tevv. Come in, Sian Tevv. It's Deena Shan. I repeat, it's Deena Shan. I was planning to leave in search of Skywalker. I had this funny feeling that he might still be out there somewhere. I was wondering if you wanted me to go look for him... or stay and help you guys. Either way, it doesn't matter. Over."

The young woman began to wait for his response.

Deena remembered that she was a young eager girl in the Rebellion, and had sense of humor. She was still that same spunky girl that was willing to do anything to help others. But then she was caught between doing her duties... and finding Luke.

OOC: Bah! Not space...

IC: Basso, Sullustan Tunnels, Sullust

Mentioning Luke had probably been a bad idea, considering the big ol' crush Deena had on the kid. Basso had said that if Luke were around he could probably use some of his mindspook tricks to walk right up, pull an REBJ and they'd be done in no time. Hell, he could probably have taken care of the whole thing himself, and then Deena, Able and himself could just go have a drink. No go, though, what with Luke being dead.

Poor girl...she wasn't over it, yet, and she was so used to feeling useless - she wasn't, of course, just clumsy - that she was...actually breaking comm silence?

"Hey now, Deena...now's not the time for jokes. Concentrate on the mission, okay?" She was good girl, Deena, and had become a great SpecForce trooper, but since Luke's death it was like she was green again. They didn't need that now.

Basso cut in front of her, kneeling next to Able in their cover. "What's the plan, Abe?"

IC: Emperor Palpatine
~En route to Imperial City~

Palpatine sat motionless in his chair. He was looking out at the passing streaks of blue and white that represented the numerous star systems that they passed traveling through hyperspace. He had always enjoyed the view, in awe of the brilliant colors that the blackness of space was transformed into always noting the similarities between it and a burst of Force Lightning. However, he was not concentrating on the sight in front of him like he normally would. Instead, the Emperor was focusing all his attention into finding out what that mysterious disturbance was in the Force.

As he traveled further and further away from Naboo, the disturbance that had been gnawing at him for quite some time now grew ever weaker. Palpatine did not know why that was happening, unless he had been close to the source just moments before. That thought was quickly brushed aside; if he had been so close, he would have definitely figured it out; he was, in fact, the most powerful being in the galaxy.

The Sith Master began to become disgusted with him self. He was the powerful man the galaxy had ever seen, the smartest person to ever step foot on any planet. He had single handedly caused the downfall of an entire government, established his own, and abolished the most powerful group of individuals in the known galaxy, with only a few survivors left. He should be able to figure this mystery out with ease, but he couldn't. That led him to believe something was being masked within the Force, hidden from his extensive insight. What was being masked within the Force was unknown. But he was sure that was the cause. Though, he and Vader were among the only few Force-bearing beings in the galaxy, narrowing down those that were behind it. He had been suspicious of Vader for years, and this worsened it.

However, it could be something far beyond his comprehension at the moment. It could be some unknown force that the galaxy had never seen. It could be something that had been prophesied for years. That Unknown Threat hailing beyond the Unknown Regions. This threat could very well be the cause, and it was looming ever closer. He would not rule anything out, and when Palpatine arrived at the Imperial City, he would contact an old acquaintance of his who was currently patrolling the Unknown Regions; one brilliant strategist like himself, though this man was not Force sensitive, and of a different, blue-skinned race.

IC: Deena Shan, Sullustan Tunnels

Deena turned and looked at Basso. Then she sighed. "Okay..."

The young woman hid for cover. Thinking about Luke got in the way of her duties, so she tried to shake it off. "Blast it!" she thought, "I know he's still alive! I know it! But I gotta focus on the mission, like Basso said."

Deena glared down. Then she raised her blaster, ready for the enemy to strike. All she ever wanted was Luke to be with her... and the Rebellion again. Deep in her heart, she wasn't going to give up on him.

IC: Alecs Brellar, Onslaught, Hyperspace

The tall, wild grass swayed slighly, caressed by the cool breeze blowing across Alderaan's castle lands. The grasslands stretched from horizon to horizon, broken only by the long-abandoned Killik mounds in the distance. Winda stood before him, her long summer dress flapping gently, and her long dark hair flowing gracefully behind her. His wife's lips curved up in an affectionate smile at the sight of him. Normally the epitome of dignity, Alecs was on his hands and knees, playing Bantha for the giggling toddlers on his back.

"Faster, daddy, faster!, Serri cried. Kendra voiced her agreement, and both twins shrieked with laughter as he charged forward, sending them sprawling to the soft ground. Alecs sat up, laughing at the little girls who had proceeded to roll around in the grass, playing some game that made sense only in their six-year-old minds.

"I don't think that's appropriate behavior for an officer of His Majesty's Navy, Commander Brellar," Winda adonished with mock seriousness, setting down the picnic basket they'd brought from home. His grin widened.

"Perhaps you are right, my lady," Alecs replied formally, the seriousness of his tone ruined by the foolish grin that was still smeared across his face. He held out a hand for her to help him up. She rolled her eyes and obliged, only to find herself dragged down to the ground. She landed on his chest with a yelp of surprise. Winda Brellar looked down at her husband's face, her smile sneaking back.

"What are you doing," She asked lightly, already knowing the answer.

"Something innappropriate," He replied with a roguish grin, rolling over and leaning down to kiss her, eliciting a chorus of disgust from the girls watching the scene a few meters away...

"Perhaps we should extend a welcome party to our new guests," she suggested, her tone a friendly one, though still domineering.

Alecs was jerked sharply from the memory by Jade's voice, the ghost of a smile fading from his lips. He blinked rapidly to force back the moisture that threatened to spill from his eyes before turning, composure regained, to face the young woman.

"Why would we do that," he asked dryly, "when we could just... not?" Smee snorted. Everything was funny to that one. Alecs' mockery did have a purpose, though. Judging from her tone, Jade seemed to think she was in charge here. If he couldn't teach her humility the way he wanted (with a blaster), he would just refuse to take her seriously. "I mean, there are so many more rewarding things we could do with our time. Mr. Smee, how many moons does Bogden have?" He asked.

"Uhh, I dunno, sir," Came the sheepish, and somewhat bewildered reply.

"Well, then, look it up." He turned back to Jade. "You see, if we went to welcome our guests, Lieutenant Smee here would probably never have time learn just how many moons orbit Bogden. That information could be vitally important someday. You wouldn't want to deprive him of the chance to better himself, would you?"

OOC: Wow, last night was like RPF Christmas in this thread. Bunch of posts!

I thought I'd take this opportunity to explain my policy on the NPC's I play, just to make things in case there are any questions. If an NPC is under your command, you're free to control them. A good example of that is the character of Lt. Smee, and what Inquisitor_Skywalker has done with him. If an NPC is above you in rank or otherwise not yours to command, at least ask first, because they're most likely performing some GM-ly function. For example, SkywalkerShine can't control Basso, but MistrX can. You're free to create your own NPCs to use, where useful, and if you want me to NPC one for you, I'd love to. Make sense to everyone? Feel free to ask questions in OOC's before your posts.

Oh, and another thing: if anyone ever wants to take an NPC of mine and turn him into a player character, that's totally cool. No one wants Piett? Serra? devil

Another thing: I've been writing that Iklo works at the Drunken Devil. That doesn't make sense. Creating another bar name...now!

IC: Qui-Gon Jinn

He was everywhere and nowhere, searching the Force for those that remained, searching their spirits. Leia had made good progress and shown a willingness to learn that outstripped her brother's. Impressive. There was hope.

He found himself near a familiar presence, and he gathered his consciousness there. The spirit was in meditation. The spirit was cold and dark like the cave on Dagobah where Yoda had tested Luke. It carried hate and sadness, but also a light buried deep down, fighting to be heard but losing strength, flagging, fading. Qui-Gon reached for that light; unlike Obi-Wan and Yoda, Qui-Gon knew that this spirit could be saved. He reached and reached. He was almost there. It was almost within his grasp. Perhaps he could infuse it with his own light to make it glow, just for an instant, to demonstrate what it was capable of.

And then he found himself being shoved, tossed out, removed with violent force. A minor setback. He knew better. He knew Anakin was still there.

IC: PROXY, The Grinning Gran, Blue District, Coronet, Corellia

PROXY's systems came back online at the time he'd set them to. As his photoreceptors adjusted, he found himself in the inn they had stayed for the night. There was a bed, here, but it was empty and made: burly Twi'lek guards may sleep in beds, but droids didn't. PROXY flexed his joints and stepped out into the common space, and then moved to the other room, a habitation that had two beds, but only one had been used.

"Wake up, sleepyheads."

IC: Mara Jade, the Onslaught, hyperspace, en route to Druckenwell

Ah. So that was his game. Insolence. Wonderful. He was lucky he was handsome when he was being assertive or he'd find his trachea being crushed. Mara squared her jaw and her green eyes were fire. Force Choke wasn't her style, after all. That sort of brutishness belonged to the man in black.

"Very well, Captain Brellar," she said, "I'll see to them myself. Should I send them here for their room assignment?"

Upon receiving her answer, she spun and swept from the room, thinking she heard the lieutenant say something lewd, but ignoring him. As she passed, a computer terminal tore itself free of its station and smashed on the walkway. Childish? Perhaps.

She ordered a tram to take her to the hangar bay and sat in silence, even as the driver tried to flirt with her. Upon arriving, she found Shira and an Imperial Guard, standing at the ready, obviously waiting for the welcome party that hadn't been ready and waiting, the welcome party that would never come.

"Greetings, Brie," Mara said, "Welcome to the Onslaught."

Date Posted: 5/15 12:07pm Subject: RE: Star Wars: Episode VI - As Father and Son - Now Accepting New Players!
IC: Commander "Alpha"

Command Juggernaut, just outside the SoroSuub spaceport, Sullust

Alpha was furious, not everything was going as planned. The two platoons of the 501st came to assist the 368th assault regiment to stop this rebel threat. The Emperor needed those shipyards, so Sullust must remain under Imperial rule.

The Clone looked at his helmet next to the holoprojector, he missed his first one...he missed those times. Then he was back with his brothers fighting the droids, saving the Republic. A lieutenant approached him.

-Sir, reports indicate that the Rebels, together with the Sullustans, are slowly progressing towards the shield generator...

The junior officer stopped when he saw the anger on Alpha's face.

-Comms!
-Yes, sir?
-I want to speak with Agathon!
-Right the way sir!

He glared at the lieutenant.

-Is that so? And what is the 368th is doing about it? Where are the TIE Maulers and the AT-STs?
-Captain Agathon had sent them at the north ridge, to protect the SPMA-Ts...
-Ah...brilliant, just brilliant...

The commlink beeped, it was Agathon.

-Agathon here...
-YOU IMBECILE! What have you done?!
-I beg your pardon...
-The Rebels will break through if you don't act quickly! Send the STs and the Maulers you fool! The artillery is not their target! If they bring down the generator Sullust will fall!
-I must protest...
-I am the commanding officer here, you don't want to make Lord Vader unhappy, do you?

The man gulped.

-Nno, sir...
-Good, I'll retake the spaceport then will come to oversee the defense of the generator, Alpha out...

Alpha then turned towards the communications officer.

-Signal the Maulers and the AT-STs to converge on IG-88's position, they should protect it on all costs. I want an artillery barrage on that spaceport. Designate our previous position as the new Landing Zone. And ask for reinforcements...
-Right the way, sir!

Then the officer turned to comply the orders. Alpha took his helmet and put it on. His squad was already waiting for him, they were longing for the battle.

-Alright men, we have a battle to win here...

The troops cheered, they were going to punish those rebels once and for all.

Once outside he watched as the blue blast fell and destroying the buildings around the spaceport throwing chunks of durasteel and duracrete everywhere. This surely didn't kill every rebel on the spaceport but the barrage must have shaken them. Alpha signaled his men to be careful and watch closely for rebel scum.

Then blasterfire came..."That was quick..." thought Alpha.

IC: Luke Skywalker and HK-47

HK's photoreceptors came back online to witness a strange sight. R4-K5 was planted below the floating figure of Luke, rocking back and forth on the joints that connected his legs to his trunk, bumping his master's knee with a dull metallic thud. After watching the droid do this to no avail - Luke remained meditating, floating - for twenty whole standard minutes, HK decided to do something.

Standing he shook his head and let out a metallic sigh as he joined the droid in front of the floating meatbag. "Advisement: You're going about this all wrong, my squat little Astromech. If you want his attention, you need a way to catch him beyond his point of concentration. Give him something he NEEDS to pay attention to, like so..." Retrieving one of the pistols from his hip, he took a few steps back and quickly raised it to his young Master's eye level, preparing to pull the trigger.

Luke's hand was up in a flash, moving before the shot rang out. Absorbing energy was something he'd learned from his father, and was still perfecting: he felt the burn in his palm, but there was not even superficial damage done. He opened his eyes, and smirked. "Good morning." He set his feet on the floor and walked across the room, turning to face the droids and leaning against the meditation sphere. "How's the IG droid information?"

Photoreceptors burning brightly with pleasure, the rust-colored droid had relished the chance to fire off the shot at his young Master. Even though it had been intercepted, the act had been most therapeutic. He would have to access that memory file every time the two of them frustrated him. "Statement: It is certainly most enlightening, young Master. This Phlut droid possessed a remarkable database of execution and assassination techniques, as well as an expanded weapons' database. However, I pioneered some of these assassination techniques and yet I recieve no credit for them! It makes me want to burn a hole through a meatbag's wet, spongy chest cavity. I am, however, rather incensed....

Luke sighed. "Why's that?"

"Query: Why's that!? Statement: If you were an artist and had created a great masterpiece, would you too not be angry if, generations later, that people did not give you credit for your work? It's insulting, quite honestly..."

"Oh, yes, silly me," Luke said, "My mind is elsewhere." He noticed R4 twirling about and chirping for attention. "What is it?"

R4 tweedled on about the battle on Sullust. "Just as I feared. We'll have to deal with that when the time comes. It's okay, of course. I suspect the Rebels planned to draw Imperial forces away from the Death Star...the Emperor would not move them. And so...even if they gain control of Sullust, they've failed."

HK stood rigidly as he listened to the young Master. Honestly, all this business with Rebellions, Empires and all this meatbag foolishness. All he truly cared about was his next assignment and being able to execute his duties, and his targets, with the utmost in efficiency.

"You must be getting restless here, HK. Lord Vader tells me you used to serve Darth Revan," Luke said, turning to the assassin, "I imagine things were rather interesting for you, in those days."

"Commentary: Oh yes, my Master Revan was quite remarkable for an organic. He had an intelligence and wit that I have not seen in any Master since then and a cruelty that at times was quite barbaric and yet also executed with masterful precision. In fact, it was he who programmed into me my continued usage of the word 'meatbag' in reference to organics after I once called his apprentice such and he found it amusing." If he could and possessed a mouth, no doubt HK would smile wistfully at this next remark. "In fact, I do like to believe, at his heart, my first Master was very much like myself...or is that too much to hope for?"

"Well...hopefully we'll have something for you to kill, soon enough. Did you ever get all those upgrades?"

HK shook his head. "Statement: I have gathered a few weapons to hold me over for the time being, and besides the Phlut droid's files, I have yet to recieve my requested upgrades."

Luke chewed the inside of his cheek and thought for a moment. "Battledroid parts are hard to come by these days, what with their being illegal since the Clone Wars, but I imagine a lot of regular weapons parts could be modified to suit you."

"Query: Then again, are such legalities truly any barriers for one such as our Master?"

"They're hard to find, is all, HK, we don't have them lying around our star destroyers. If you're content with your weapons for now, that's fine. I was just thinking of ways to past the time to Endor...Hyperspace hasn't gotten any more entertaining in four-thousand years, I'm afraid."

"Interjection: Though I would hope your meatbag engineers have found a way to decrease travel time. In the meantime, perhaps a mutiny will take place while we travel and the Master will allow me to kill THEM. It seems that's the only way he will allow me to assassinate anyone on this ship for the time being."

Luke laughed. "You haven't been around long enough. Piett's been Admiral longer than most in his position. When I was with the Rebels, it was always difficult keeping track of who was in charge of each destroyer, when they served under Vader."

"Query: Does the master merely save all the assassination for his underlings for himself or is this Empire of his merely staffed with incompetants?" HK's photoreceptors brightened. "Amendment: Either way, I am eager to see his cruelty in action after hearing so much about it. I would hate for the rumors to be embellished."

"'The Master' is something of a brutal killer, in his own right, and yes, he's often sent on assassination missions by the Emperor. I've seen the holovids taken from the Jedi Temple, back when Vader was putting down the Jedi Rebellion," Luke's eyes registered something far away, and yet...blank, "He killed a great many Jedi, that day, and in the intervening years hunted the rest of them down."

Observation: To be a Jedi is to be betrayed and hunted, if history has taught them nothing else." The Assassin glanced down momentarily at R4, who had been oddly quite for the past few minutes, before looking back at his younger Master. "Query: Might I take this to mean, however, that there are no more Jedi left to hunt?"

Luke's eyes wandered momentarily, considering the question."There's one." He shook his head. "I feel him fading in the Force, even now, like glowbulb about to burn out. He's fading. Soon the Jedi will be gone."

HK-47 let out another metallic sigh. "Statement: Such a shame..."

"A shame? The Jedi betrayed the Republic they swore to protect."

"Ammendment: A shame, young Master, because I have not had the chance to kill a Jedi in at least one thousand, two hundred years and if the last of the Jedi dies, I may never have the chance again. They possess a unique level of difficulty that is difficult to find amongst meatbags."

"Ah...well...maybe we'll set you loose on the Mandalorians. I hear they're causing trouble."

Almost as if one cue, the droid's body perked and almost seemed to shake with excitement. "Exclamation: Young Master! If I did not find the act repugnant, I would hug you! I missed the opportunity to fight the Mandalorians with my Master Revan and have regretted for millenia not being present to take Mandalore the Ultimate's head myself."

"Well, I think the current Mandalore's name is Shysa, not quite so exciting as Mandalore the Ultimate, but...well...we make the best with what we can."

A chime sounded in the quarters, an indication that reversion was near.

"Ah," Luke said, "Close to Endor, then." He temporarily lost balance as the meditation sphere he was leaning against began to open, revealing Vader's scarred visage momentarily as the helmet and mask were fit back into place.

Finally, HK's curiousity was alieved at the revelation of the palid, ravaged head of his Master. To think, one so potentially intimidating was in reality such a frail white sack of proteins.

Pushing aside any disgust, he tried to speak with his most pleasant tone. "Statement: Greetings, Master. I trust you are adequately rested?"

Vader stood and exited his sphere. "Rest," he said, "was not my interest. I have been meditating on the currents of the Force. Luke...we must act now."

Luke went rigid. "What do you mean, now?"

"I will complete this errand for the Emperor, too keep up appearances, and then we return to Coruscant."

HK moved to retrieve his rifle from against the computer terminal and stood at attention, assuming that his Master was still in a foul mood and waiting for him to speak first.

"Yes, Master," Luke said, "I will reserve my strength, here."

"Very good." Vader turned to HK. "Come with me. We will board the shuttle and pay Moff Jerjerrod a visit."

"Statement: As you wish, Master."

The two swept from the chambers, leaving Luke with much to think about.

IC: Kyle Katarn, Jabba’s Palace dungeons, Tatooine

Great. Just what he needed. Kyle thought bitterly as the painfully familiar sight of green Mandalorian armor came into view through the barred door to his cell, the T-shaped visor staring at him emotionlessly like soulless gaze of some ancient battle droid. Some people had theorized that Fett truly was a machine, but Katarn knew better. He had seen Fett’s very human vulnerabilities before. After all, he was one of the few people in the galaxy to ever fight the armored bounty hunter to a standstill. Had he come here to gloat?

Kyle slowly picked himself off the cold stone floor, brushing his tan shirt off and adjusting his lone shoulder pad before approaching the cell door, giving Fett a look that was more bored than intimidated. He doubted it had the same effect as Boba’s thousand lightyear stare, but he wasn’t giving his old foe the satisfaction of seeing weakness.

“And you’re a long way from doing anything useful, Fett”, Kyle replied, “I don’t suppose it would be too much to hope for that you came here to let me out?”

IC: Jan Ors, edge of the Dune Sea, Tatooine

Jan smirked slightly at Calrissian’s flirtatious greeting. It was easy to see why he and Kyle got along so well. Contemplating this, the petite woman at the controls of the Moldy Crow accessed the com system to send a reply and the coordinates to her location. The backup had arrived, and not a moment too soon. Kyle had got himself into yet another mess, and as usual, it came down to her to pick him out of it. One of these days, Kyle wasn’t going to be so lucky.

“Good to hear from you, handsome. I’m sending the coordinates now”, she said, her metal-gloved hand instructing the computer, “We’ve got ourselves a hot extraction to prepare.”
