OOC: Sorry for holding things up, but we are in collaboration for a combined post. Unfortunately, we are both quite busy in RL, and that is making it quite hard.

IC: Winter

Winter listened intently to Smee as he spoke. She decided she didn't really like him all that much, but she would fein interest with whatever he had to say. The googly-eyes he made at her when he felt she wasn't looking told her enough.

Don't worry yourself overmuch there, Plee. It might not come down to a fight. And if it does, well, that's what we've got that rust bucket for. He spoke to her.

She smiled at his him, trying to stiffle a giggle. He might think she was laughing at his joke. Suited her. She was really laughing at the fact that he probably thought she couldn't fight or something just as silly. Good, though. The less people thought she was a threat, the better.

Besides, scuttlebutt says that we ain't stayin' here very long, no matter who wins. Rumor has it that our fearless leader has decided that our long-awaited desertion is at hand.

Winter blinked a few times at his whispered statement. Lt. Smee had a reputation for speaking his mind and not fluffing anything up, but that last statement was treasonious (OOC: is that even a word?)! She still didn't like him and the voice in the back of her head was telling her not to trust him. Acting concerned, she cocked her head to one side, a confused look on her face. "Excuse me, sir, I don't think I heard you clearly?" Her voice came out a bit more innocent than she had wanted. Great, now he would think she was really just a stupid, pretty face.

She couldn't help but have a bad taste in her mouth. Once this mission was done, she was going to request a mission where she could at least use her brain openly. All this cluelessness and doe-eyed girl crap she played got old real quick. And the uniforms itched. For all the credits the Empire had, you'd think they'd spend more on fabric. Geeze, what was this stuff made from? Rancer hide? Winter scratched at her arm absently as she waited for Lt. Smee to speak.

The Firewind came out of hyperspace along side of the Executor.

"Raise shields and deploy all TIE Squadrons! Arm all Concussion Missiles and prepare to fire on my command!” The crew, while shocked when they realized the fleet was facing Coruscant, followed their orders. TIE Interceptors were the first to exit the Hanger, taking up a defensive posture in front of the Firewind. “Weapons, give me firing solution on the closest Coruscant Home Fleet ships. I want all firing solutions on every ship within out missile range. No one twitches unless Lord Vader or the Admiral says so. Is that understood?”

In unison the crew answered with a “Yes sir!”

OOC: Yes Selena, "Treasonous" is a word grin .

IC: Jonthin Smee

"Excuse me, sir, I don't think I heard you clearly?"

Smee opened his mouth to tell her it was nothing, when he stopped, cocking his head slightly. Something about her response felt wrong. Jonthin Smee was many things, but stupid wasn't one of them (no matter what his numerous ex-girlfriends said). Plee was being entirely too cautious for a brainless pair of legs... So he decided to elaborate on his earler statement. If she was a spy from High Command, she was too badly outnumbered to fight her way out (at least he hoped so), and it was far too late to report him for anything he said. And if she was just another undesirable, unsure of her footing, there wouldn't be any problems. And if she was completely against the views of the majority of the crew, well, that's what they made airlocks for (okay, maybe that's not quite what they were made for, but it was one highly creative use for them).

"Rendar over there," He started, gesturing at the woman, "told me that Major Sannis told her that the Captain told him that the whole reason Vader brought us along for the ride is that we're disloyal. Vader knows that we," Smee made a sweeping gesture, indicating everyone else on the bridge, "have no problem knocking Palpatine's wrinkly arse off the throne. But the captain thinks that if Vader wins, he'll get rid of us on principal. Why risk having a star destroyer full of malcontents causing problems, right? 'Cause that's what we are. Malcontents. All of us are here because the Empire decided that we were worthless and wanted to get rid of us. The ones that aren't here for incompetence are here for having certain... undesirable political leanings. Hell, I know for a fact the Captain is a Rebel Sympathizer. Has been ever since he lost his family when Alderaan went up." He finished, subtly signaling the two troopers guarding the turbolift to prepare to move in, just in case there was trouble.

The two troopers glanced at each other briefly, before silently readying their blasters. The captain was too engrossed in analyzing the holographic representation of Coruscanti Space that hovered above the tactical station to notice the byplay.

IC: Winter

Winter crossed her legs and sighed slightly. She now knew why she was stationed on this ship. Nothing was done in her line of work by accident. Somewhere, someone knew about at least some of this crew. This made this mission either a very horrible test or an easy outcome. Winter couldn't risk blowing her cover though, even in light of the new circumstances. So, she did what she always did.

Winter looked down at her computer. She spoke silently, but loud enough for him to hear. "I didn't think my family's past trangressions would influence me so much. When my father was taken away I had to get a job to just be able to support myself. I should of known with how easy it was for me to get here that my name had been tagged." She rested her head on her hand. Her eyes grew slightly glassy as she looked up at Smee. "Truthfully, I don't care. I just don't want to die." She shrugged slightly, still speaking quietly. "I haven't even had a real drink yet!"

Winter knew her cheeks and eyes were probably turning that pink color that people get when they cry. Inwardly, she smiled. Crying on cue was a hard trick to master. So was not getting totally carried away in yuor part that you reveal something about your true self or put yorself into a worse situation. She had said enough but didn't really give anything away. And she was being truthful...on the drink part. She hadn't had an alochol drink since she started this mission and one was looking really good right about now.

She sniffed slightly, a sign that she wasn't going to cry, but felt like she needed too. She kept her gaze on Smee. "What's going to happen to us, then?"

IC: Jonthin Smee

Jonthin Smee considered himself a hard man. His laughing and joking hid it well, but if necessary, he could kill, maim, or even torture a man, and sleep well that same night. That said, women were his only emotional weakness. Especially crying women. Maybe he was just sexist, but he always felt like he should do something to help, and he always felt like a complete schutta when he was the cause of said crying. So he quickly waved off the troopers, and gave her an awkward, hesitant pat on the back (and amazingly enough, the physical contact inspired only two or three lecherous thoughts).

"Hey now, it'll be alright," He reassured. "The captain's gotten us through plenty worse scrapes than this. No one's gonna die here," Smee lied, "especially not you. We're just gonna wait for Vader to do his thing. If it gets too hot, the captain'll get us out. No need to worry there, Plee, 'cause the next chance we get, I'm gonna drag you to a tapcaf myself, and buy you that first drink. Think of it as payback for making you feel bad." Smee finished, trying to manage a friendly, yet completely platonic smile (it was harder than it should have been), all suspicious thoughts forgotten...

IC: HK-47
Landing Pad- Imperial Palace- Imperial Center

Exclamation: Finally! A host of red-clad warriors stand ready before the two Masters and myself and I can feel my digits twitching with anticipation. I quickly prime each of my weapons, ready every explosive and push my systems to their max in preparation. As we approach, step by step, I can very barely control myself, as neither can Lord Vader or his Apprentice, who have already drawn their blades. When, finally, we arrive within two steps of our enemies’ weapons’ range, I let loose the extent of my arsenal. Whether the Master approves or not, I will handle this job myself.

Observation: Reaching to the stores in my leg, I let loose an arc of poison grenades across the front of the enemy lines with one manipulator while with the other I let loose a rain of suppressive fire through the clouds of green poison from my DXR6 Heavy Carbine. Once I had succeed in laying down the poisoned perimeter, which may not exactly be effective depending on the faculties of their helmets though at least it will cloud their vision, I take aim with the Rocket Dart Launcher now embedded in that arm and fire off a small barrage of wrist rockets. They won’t cause as much damage as my MM9, but as I arced the projectiles in the air, I send them into the midst of their battle groups to cause the meatbags to scatter.

TAG: morichro, beauty

IC: Vader

HK laid down a screen of poison gas, which would prove no trouble for Vader or his son but problematic for the Guards, many of whom struggled, now, even through their helmet filters. Blaster bolts split others' helmets, quickening the process, and still more guards came. Vader sensed projectiles coming, and as he and Luke cut through Guards en masse - though it was more difficult than usual, as many were armed with phrik staves - he directed their paths into the battlegroups, sending troops scattering and leaving many dead.

Vader decided that HK was capable of handling their rear, and called out the order to cover them as he and Luke cut their paths toward their destiny, felling Royal Guards with their sabers as a man might cut through underbrush with a machete. They made their way to the lifts, and when the lifts were halted, they cut through the tops of the lifts and leapt up the shafts. Vader recalled doing the same years ago on his mission to save Palpatine aboard the Invisible Hand. Ironic, then, that he was going now to kill the man.

And there it was. The throne room. New legions of Imperial Troops, stormtroopers and guardsmen alike, wilted and burned before the intensity of Luke's and Vader's wrath. One hundred men defended the door, and one-hundred men died. Luke glowed in the dark side, and he did the honors of blowing open the door. Vader quickly signalled for the Onslaught and the Firewind to land their troops and take the palace, and the two men - Father and Son - entered the throne room, weapons in hand.

Jabba's Palace, Tatooine

There was a loud crunch as Lando’s fist connected with pig snout, sending a Gamorrean Guard reeling. He was grabbed from behind, but a swift backwards quick dislocated a Gamorrean’s knee. Unfortunately, the beast fell on top of him, and the two tussled on the ground.

Kyle was having more luck against one of the guards, while Chewie was taking on two by himself, roaring and growling as he battered the Gamorreans against the wall. Han, meanwhile, simply fumbled around at the back, occasionally calling out encouragement.

Chewie decided to try and grab the guards' axes, lunging for the weapons with the intention of throwing them to his companions if he was successful.

Winter looked up at him, slightly smiling. She wiped a few stray tears that had appeared on her cheek. "Thanks" she said.

Sighing slightly, mostly to clear her head, she looked back at the screen. At the moment there wasn't really much for her to do. Leaning her head on her hand, she looked up at Smee and then back out in front of her, past her view screen. She took the few empty moments to analize what he said and his reaction. She needed to report this, but was it too soon? If she excused herself now he would be suspious enough to send someone after her. If she waited, she might not get a chance. Oh well, this was a chance she had to take.

Wipping under her eye, she frowned at the smeared eyeliner. "Oh, poodoo. Lt. Smee, may I be excused for a moment?" She held up her fingers with the smeared eyeliner on them, hinting that her makeup was messed up. "I'm sorry, but, this won't look really good streaking down my face." She gave a hesitant laugh.

Inwardly, she hoped that nothing would happen in the time she was gone and that he'd let her go for a few minutes.

IC: Alecs Brellar

Alecs sighed in frustration as the order came through to launch the dropships. This would complicate things...

IC: Del Sannis

Del cursed viciously in every language he knew as the launch order came. After taking a moment to compose himself, he activated his helmet's transmitter and gave the go order to the Onslaught's ground forces. Standing in the cockpit of the lead Juggernaught carrier, he watched as the hangar drifted away, replaced by stars that whirled crazily as the pilots maneuvered the ungainly vessel through the rapidly expanding debris field that surrounded Vader's task force. Thankfully, no shots had been fired yet in what was becoming a standoff between the task force and the Home Fleet. That would have made insertion a tad... messier.

Behind Major Sannis' transport, a steady stream of troop transports and Juggernaught carriers followed in its wake as a full two thirds of the Onslaught's trooper contingent left the ship, bound for the gleaming planet below. Despite its boxy, inelegant frame, the Juggernaught carrier was tough. It had to be, to endure the blisteringly fast, barely controlled atmospheric entry that was necessary to avoid being blown out of the sky by the Palace's defenses. Just before the convoy came within visual range of the palace, its turbolaser defenses opened up, relentlessly pouring colored fire into the crowded air. Dozens of civilian airspeeders were vaporized, having been used by the invaders to shield their approach. Off to starboard, an old Gamma- class assault shuttle took a turbolaser bolt to the nose, the ensuing explosion shredding the flank of another Juggernaught carrier, sending the larger transport plummeting down to its death on the steets below.

Del winced. They hadn't even landed yet and their armor support was taking losses. Finally, with a metallic screech as the landing skids took out the side of a small restaurant, the carrier landed. With a hydraulic whirr, the massive loading ramp lowered, and Del's Juggernaught rumbled to life, retractable missile launchers snapping into ready position as the rolling slab tore out of the transport bay, onto the crowded Coruscanti streets, setting loose dozens of concussion missiles, racing forward to breach the Palace's outer ring of defenses. Around the vehicle, fourteen other Juggernaughts paralleled its course on neighboring city blocks. Behind them, the troop transports began disgorging their living cargo to cover the rear of the armored advance. As dazzling explosions blossomed before him, and the return fire scorched his retinas, Del almost wished he was a religious man. Prayer would have been a comfort right then. It was no matter though, he decided. He was a soldier, and he was in his element...

IC: Jonthin Smee

Still feeling bad for making her cry, Smee nodded at Plee's request with what he hoped was a comforting smile. It would do the girl some good, he decided, to have a few moments alone to sort herself out...

Profession: Grand Admiral

Allignments: Galactic Empire
Appearance:

Biography:
The youngest Imperial Grand Admiral so far, Thel Firin was born in Coronet City, Corellia. He was the third child of Nils and Varina Firin (nee Kothari). His father was the owner of a fairly large import-export corporation and Thel grew up if not exactly in the lap of luxury, then pretty close to it. Although his father was not that educated (he was more self-made than anything else), he was emphatic that all his children would be well-learned.

Thel was almost a child prodigy. By the age of four, he was reading and knew his basic multiplication tables. Nils was quite pleased with his son's innate intellect and, as soon as possible, hired tutors to help get Thel's education off to an excellent start: history, literature, mathematics, the sciences and languages (which Thel seemed to have a good ear for). He excelled academically with these tutors and, at the age of 11, he was sent to the Coronet Preparatory Academy, one of the top secondary school's on the planet (thus he started his secondary schooling several years early). At the age of 15, he was deemed ready to graduate by the faculty and graduated with special honors.

At the age of 16, he entered Corellia University and, by age 19, had earned his Bachelors degree in Intergalactic Relations. He would go on to earn dual Masters degrees, one in Corellian History and the other in Intergalactic Relations. At the age of 26, he earned his PhD in Intergalactic Relations and his dissertation, which discussed the political tacts the Empire should take to expand its authority into the Outer Rim, earned him the title Laureate of the Empire (one of the highest awards the Empire can bestow for scholarly work). Upon finishing his collegiate education, he was offered a commission in the Imperial Navy, working in the Naval Intelligence Division as an analyst.

As an analyst in Intelligence, he was extremely adept. His near photographic memory and ability to process and draw accurate conclusions very quickly with limited information available (skills that had served him extremely well academically and had ensured his dissertation would be well-received) allowed him to excel professionally and at the age of 30 he was the Head of the Naval Intelligence Analysis Division. After serving as a liaison officer with Imperial Intelligence (part of the Imperial Military) and, later, the Imperial Security Bureau, Thel would eventually be made a flag officer and appointed Director of Naval Intelligence. Due to his loyalty to the Empire and his skills, he was eventually promoted to Grand Admiral, being the only person on the Circle of Twelve (the 12 Grand Admirals) to have never commanded even a single frigate.

Although he is extremely powerful and probably quite feared, Thel could be described as humble and fairly nice by most people. Since he was in secondary school and college so young, he was a bit of a social outcast and worries that people look down on him and think of him as weak and inferior. He is unmarried and has good relations with his family of origin.

IC: Grand Admiral Osvald Teshik, ISD Eleemosynary, reversion over Imperial Center

It was a message. For all his power, there was no way Vader could have expected to take Coruscant with three Star Destroyers, even if one of them was the Executor.

For all his anger and draconian wrath, Darth Vader had never been able to completely divulge himself of his compassion and his faith. Osvald Teshik was more machine than man, a mutilated mass of wires and flesh in an Empire that prized the attractive, the healthy, the strong. Osvald Teshik had personal qualms with Emperor Palpatine, his current condition a result of one of Palpatine's punishments for a transgression that was barely a transgression. Osvald Teshik commanded the Azure Hammer Command of Anaxes, the true weight of the Empire's might in the Imperial Center Oversector, and as the fifty-seven ships of the Azure Hammer came out of hyperspace over the capitol of the New Order, Osvald Teshik formed his flagship and twenty-two others behind the Executor.
