The Master’s Quarters- The Executor- In Orbit of Naboo

Objection: An Antique!? Master! I’ll have you know…”

A thought suddenly crosses my cognitive matrix and I give a half bow to the Master. If I were a meatbag, surely I would be trying to suppress a wry grin at this very moment. Supplication: My apologies, Master. I was out of term and you are indeed correct. I am rather antiquated these days, no doubt.”

Statement: Perhaps some upgrades are in order, then, Master? If you would so allow me, I can uplink with your ship’s on-board database and compile a list of appropriate alterations you might be able to make to me that will allow me to be a more… efficient servant. No use for you to use a stone knife when you could use a laser scalpel.”

Vader paused. The droid...was playing him. No matter. HK had a point - if the droid was to be useful he may as well be optimal. What's more, the challenge and the work would keep Vader occupied.

"Very well, assassin. You may interface with the nearest available terminal."

GM Approved

Name: Marix Terrik
Species: Human
Gender: Female
Age: 21
Height: 1.61 meters
Skin Color: Light tan
Eye Color: Brown
Hair Color: Black
Homeworld: Corellia
Weapons: DL-44 heavy blaster, vibro blade
Possessions: Pulsar Skate (a modified Baudo-class star yacht)

Profession: Owner and operator of “Terrik Exports”
Languages: Basic, Huttese, possibly other languages
Alignments: Independent/Rebel Sympathizer
Appearance:

Biography: Mirax is the daughter of Booster and Jysella Terrik.
Booster Terrik had no qualms with doing business for the rebels—and profiting heavily from it—but everything else in his life would soon change. Undoubtedly the biggest change was his marriage to a woman named Jysella and the subsequent birth of his daughter, Mirax. Now that he had a family to take care of, Terrik abandoned his nomadic ways and began using Corellia as his base of operations.

Just when things were leveling out for Terrik, however, his wife met a sudden end. Finding himself solely responsible for Mirax's welfare, Terrik had to rethink the way he conducted business; having a stationary base of operations already made it easier for the authorities to keep track of him, and the last thing Terrik wanted was CorSec showing up at his door and taking Mirax away while he was off on a job. Luckily, he had good friends in Jagged and Zena Antilles, the couple who operated Corellia's Gus Treta orbital refueling station.
As their families were close, young Mirax often stayed with the Antilles family, when not accompanying her dad on trips. She developed a friendship with their son Wedge, who nicknamed her "Myra" and whom she nicknamed "Veggies". When her father was finally apprehended by CorSec and sentenced to five years of hard labor on Kessel, the still underage Mirax took control of his smuggling operation. Under her guidance, the organization maintained its profitability despite turning almost completely legitimate. Wedge occasionally performed maintenance on her ship before he defected full time to the Rebellion.

Shortly after the Battle of Hoth her father Booster was released from Kessel. At first, Booster set out to pick up where he'd left off, but one trip in Pulsar Skate showed just how much he himself had changed. Hyperspace was suddenly too lonely; the confines of Skate too reminiscent of his time in the mines. Booster also found that he had lost some of his appetite for adventure—though only some. He gave Skate to Mirax to continue its usual operations, and started working primarily as an intermediary for his friends' businesses. Mirax continues to run her mostly legitimate business, while occasionally doing favors, legit and otherwise, for her father. Currently her business is headquartered out of Coronet City, Corellia.

The Master’s Quarters- The Executor- In Orbit of Naboo

Retrieving a datapad from the workbench, I bow briefly before spotting a computer terminal on the far side of the Master’s quarters and making my way over to it.

Statement: Pardon me momentarily, Master. It should take me but a few short moments to scan your database.”

Though the terminal is much more ‘modern’ in terms of design, it is not that different from those aboard the old Republic ships I was once accustomed to. Logging onto the network, I quickly manage to locate the ship-board informational database and begin surveying the latest in droid technologies available. I must say, the meatbags have certainly made strides in the right direction in terms of the lethality of modern armaments. Within two minutes and thirteen seconds, I have made my selections and uploaded them to the datapad. In one smooth motion, I turn away from the console and make my way back to the Master, where he has currently occupied himself with something else.

"Commentary: I do believe these will be most useful additions to my arsenal, Master. No doubt a Dark Lord of the Sith should be able to obtain all of that is listed and your technicians be able to install them.”

Within the datapad, the following items were listed:

-Updates to internal language lexicons
-Updates to assassination procedures and weapons/useage database
-Personal Shield Generator
-Merr-Sonn Munitions Class-A Thermal Detonator armed with dead-man switch embedded into chassis
-Flamethrower
-Pulse Cannon
-Cutting Laser
-Retractable Laser Sight and Targeting Scope
-MM9 Mini Concussion Rocket Launcher
-Merr-Sonn 1126 Rockets
-Rocket Dart Launcher
-DXR6 Heavy Carbine
-DX-2 Disruptor Pistol
-Merr-Sonn Munitions Model 434 Blaster Pistol
-DLT-19 Heavy Blaster Rifle
-Ion Grenades
-Poison Grenades

Vader surveyed the list the droid had compiled. Impressive. Most impressive. Many of these were physical upgrades to the droid's frame. The CPU updates would be simple enough to come by, although they'd be copious - four thousand years worth of software updates would take a long time to download. For the time being, however, the weapons would have to suffice.

"I will acquire your physical and neural upgrades in due time," the Dark Lord said, "Until then, you are at liberty to search the ship's weapons caches for any armament you desire."

~Emperor Palpatine's Retreat - Naboo~

Palpatine sat quietly, eyes wide open. If anyone was lucky enough to get close to him, it would appear as though he were simply looking out at the lake in front of him. However, he was doing no such thing. All his concentration was inwards, attempting to catch a glimpse of things to come. As it has been for weeks, though, it was too cloudy to make anything out. He felt as though the answer was so close to him, like it was with him, near enough to touch, but the all mighty Emperor was unable to figure it out. That angered him.

His anger grew as he heard a voice. "Your Excellency," a male voice said from behind him, bringing him out of his trance, pushing him a step back in his quest to find the road block in the Force. "I come bearing a gift as a token of my respect." Palpatine did not respond, contemplating on which method would be best to kill this man? A simple Force Choke? No, not painful enough. Force lightning? That would take too much energy that he did not want to spend. He decided upon Force Crush, an extremely painful and brutal Force technique that would crush the man into ball of twisted bones. If he did it just right, the man would survive the initial bone breaking and die a horrible, painful death.

As he swiveled around in his chair, Palpatine lifted his head to reveal his face fully to the man, now revealed to be Panaka, a man Palpatine had known for a long time and now a Moff within the Empire. The Emperors face, hideous as it was, was even more wretched than before with his angered expression. "Why are you disturbing me with this, Panaka?" He spat at the man, doing all he could to not crush the man with a single thought. Palpatine liked Panaka, and did not want to kill him....yet. The present the man spoke of was an ornate statue. Quite the gift, one that turned the Emperors expression from extremely angered to only partially angered. He had to give it to Panaka, the Moff had courage to be able to intrude upon the Emperor during his private meditation period. Though, Palpatine still awaited a response from Moff Panaka.

Sol stared off blankly. His mind was working vehemently to find a solution to their problem. That is, to find them a contact directly to Booster Terrik. He was one of those smugglers that could disappear when he wanted.

So, if he couldn’t get straight to Booster, what was their stop-get measure? He didn’t know of any big names, that where close with Terrik. Not on a business level, at least, but perhaps…

“Doesn’t he have a daughter? Her base is on Corellia and I hear she is supports the Rebellion. We might be able to go through her, with the right persuasion.”

Sol glanced at Juno, still held loosely in his arms. Would this satisfy her? He knew that she and Booster had a past, and could only hope it didn’t interfere.

ALecs stared silently at the guard for long moment wondering just how in the nine Corellian Hells he had made it through whatever training this planet's security had. Then he had the horrible thought that maybe they didn't have any training! And they let these idiots guard the Emperor of the known galaxy? Well granted, with the Red Guards there, the Naboo Security Force contingent was purely ceremonial, but still!

"Thank you for your help," He told the younger man, resisting the powerful urge to smack him as he turned and left. "Well, we've got nothin'," he announced to Major Sannis with a grimace that quickly shifted to a look of surprise.

"Huh," He said under his breath as Darth Vader passed within ten meters of their position, his skiff bound for the spaceport. "You don't see that every day, now do ya? Let's get back to the 'port." The four men moved toward said building with a defeated slump in their shoulders. There was a slight thump followed by a metallic clang and a surprised yelp from behind him. He turned, wondering just what was going on. The sight that greeted him was a strange one, indeed. It seemed that Thing One had neglected to watch where he was going, and had tripped over a black R-series astromech droid that had been following some blond kid in an overly-dramatic black cloak...

IC: Juno Eclipse - Docking Bay 325 in Coronet City Spaceport in the capital city Coronet on Corellia

Juno fell silent in deep thought, her hands absent mindedly brushing back and forth against the hand Sol still hand resting around her waist. She couldn’t think, she was stressed. It had always been a weakness in her. Stressed out meant she had trouble thinking, which meant problems in decision making. Of course, she had pulled through thus far with high merits.

“Doesn’t he have a daughter? Her base is on Corellia and I hear she is supports the Rebellion. We might be able to go through her, with the right persuasion.” Sol threw in finally. Obviously his thought process paid off more than June’s had in the few minutes that had passed.

”Yes! She exclaimed her once stroking hand now flying to her forehead making a gentle contact. ”I knew that! A small chuckle echoed from her petite form. How could I have been so daft?! She asked herself inwardly. ”Yes, he has a daughter. Marix. And yes…” Juno began a decent back up the landing ramp and into the ship, obviously in a deep train of thought. Finally she made it to her small bunk and began to change out of her old repair uniform which carried the Imperial mark on the arm.

”She base is located her on Corellia…” She pulled her shirt over her head, muffling her speech for a moment then continuing as if nothing had stopped her. ”Not far from the edge of town.” She paused looking at Sol who happened to be leaning, quite relaxed in the doorway as Juno quickly pulled her hair up and fastened it.

”We don’t have much time. We should get moving.”

OOC: Anyone know of any Corran Horn fans that might like to take over for him?

IC: Moff Panaka

The Moff was slightly taken aback by the frosty reception. Only slightly. Palpatine had changed much since taking the throne, and Panaka chalked it up to the stresses inherent to running the galaxy. It was sad to see a man that had once been so agreeable become such a curmudgeon, but Panaka owed the Emperor much, and so pressed on with the pleasantries. What’s more, there were things the Emperor dabbled in that Panaka could only dream of.

There were rumors that His Majesty was a sorcerer.

Not wanting to incur the old man’s wrath, and constantly aware of the force pike at his back, Panaka squared his shoulders and set his jaw. “A gift, Your Majesty,” he said holding the statue out in front of him, “As a token of my respect and appreciation for your Empire, your New Order, and your help in maintaining the situation on Rori those years ago. It’s been some time since I last saw you, Your Highness. I did not want you to leave again for Coruscant without getting the chance to offer you my salutations in person. I hope I haven’t been too much of a bother.”

IC: Luke Skywalker

The blue haze of Binary expletives that came pouring forth from R4’s vocabulators upon being tripped over would have made a Load Lifter blush. The astromech threw open a hatch and drew his fusioncutter, ready to inflict damage. The thuggish looking fellow cowered from the droid’s tool, but Luke wasn’t interested in seeing the violence that would ensue, at the moment.

“Arfour, leave the clumsy fool alone,” he said, “We’ve got more important things to attend to.” Luke redoubled his effort to keep up the illusion about his face, the one that kept it obscured and shifting. It was most effective when Luke was but a transient figure, not lingering long enough in anyone’s attention to register much, anyhow, but it would be effective now. He could not be recognized, not yet. Anyhow, he would soon perfect an obscure technique that allowed himself to rub clean the minds of those he passed, causing them to forget he had ever been there at all.

The droid backed away, brandishing his fusioncutter menacingly, before uttering a few final beeps and whistles, spinning, and falling in behind his master. Luke liked Arfour. He was a spunky droid, with plenty of personality, just like…Luke’s heart sank. There were times when he missed his life on Tatooine, or his old friends in the Rebellion. Perhaps, one day, after revealing himself, he could make them see the light and the truth. Until then, they were his enemies, and he had to remember that their lives meant nothing.

As he neared his destination, walking at a quick stride, his black clothing making a sharp contrast to the gaily colored Naboo fare, he reflected on his destiny.

Alecs opened his mouth to reprimand Thing One, then thought better of it. No amount of lecturing would cure stupidity. So instead he turned to the blond fellow who apparently owned the unfortunate droid.

"Sorry 'bout..." He trailed off. The young man was already walking away, his astromech sending furious noises back in their direction. Alecs shrugged and looked back toward the strange man's receeding form. His cloak was billowing in an almost Vader-esque fashion as he briskly strode away. Alecs snorted softly. "Drama queen," He muttered. "Honestly, who wears cloaks these days?" He shook his head for a moment, then paused, sudden realization dawning.

Had he just critiqued another man's fashion sense?

"By the gods, I knew it!" He said to himself. The Naboo really did have a contagious fashion disease!

"Sir?" Sannis questioned cautiously, looking slightly concerned for his superior's state of mind. Alecs waved his concern away.

"It's nothing. Let's just get out of here..."

The Master’s Quarters- The Executor- In Orbit of Naboo

I bow once more as the Master looks over my catalogue of items and that he has protested to none of them. I knew I would like him. Statement: If there is anything you would like added in addition to what I have selected, Master, feel more than free to do so, as long as it does not hinder my primary objectives. Now, if you would excuse me, Master, I believe I shall tour your ship.”

Making my way into the corridor, several uniformed meatbags seem stare at me as they pass, going about their trivial little lives. Oh, how I would love to stop and snap one of their thin spinal cords and watch them fall lifeless to the ground. Perhaps if I am obedient, the Master will allow me to do so.

Observation: For nearly half an hour, I paced the corridors of the ‘Executor’, not even seeing half of the grand vessel. Its interior reminds me a great deal of the vessels of Darth Revan’s fleet, but this one ship alone could perhaps level his entire armada. So I learned during my time within the ship’s database, this Galactic Empire has been the cause of many ‘attrocities’ throughout its history, even creating a weapon that could obliterate a planet in a single shot. Just the thought of it makes my processor glow. I must insist that the Master attempt to construct another one!

As the thirty-second minute passes after I had left the Master’s quarters, I begin to grown weary of my wandering and observation of the vessel and feel it is far past time to find the ship’s weapons stores. I notice a younger uniformed meatbag passing me in the corridor and, with my superior speed, grab it by its uniform collar before it realizes what is going on and lift it off the ground.

Query: Tell me, meatbag, where do you keep your weapons on this ship?”

“I…I’ll need to check your authorization,” it stammers quite timidly, caught off guard by my actions.

Warning: My Master is Darth Vader. I’ll trust that that is authorization enough for you to tell me where the weapons are kept.”

“I’ll have to check with Lord Vader…”

“It has been my experience over the years that most meatbags, especially humans, have a high fear of death, and by the look in your eyes you are no different. I will say it one more time and unless you wish to see how well your water-filled body will compartmentalize and fit into a foot locker, I suggest you tell me where the weapons are stored on this ship. NOW.”

“Deck 12, Section 32, Store Rooms 655, 656 and 657.”

Releasing my grip on the young meatbag’s collar, he drops to the floor with a hard thud, the datapad which was in its hand sliding across the deckplating. Statement: Thank you for your compliance, meatbag.”

As much as I wanted that answer, the challenge of fitting the junior meatbag into the locker would have been most enjoyable. A shame.

After finding my exact position within the ship, it takes only about seven minutes for me to make my way to Deck 12 and locate the store rooms he had indicated. Entering the room, my photoreceptors brighten and my processors feel as if they are aglow at the number of weapons inside. Racks of pistols, rifles, carbine, quad guns and a host of other weapons… all for the taking! All of them are unfamiliar to me at first sight, but upon reading the names emblazoned on each rack, I can recall the weapons from my brief database search. BlasTech E-11 Blaster Rifles, BlasTech DLT-19 Heavy Blaster Rifles, BlasTech DLT-20A Blaster Rifles, BlasTech SW-14r Light Repeating Blaster Pistols, Holdout Scout Blaster Pistols, BlasTech T-21 Light Repeating Blasters, BlasTech DC-17 Repeater Hand Blasters, Golan Arms FC-1 Flechette Launchers, FA-3 Flachette Launchers, MiniMag PLT Missile Launchers, Stouker Concussion Rifles, E-Web Heavy Repeating Blasters, and nine crates containing low-yield Thermal Detonators, Concussion Grenades and Frag Grenades. A veritable smorgasbord of destructive firepower, though amongst it all, only one of them was on the list I had compiled. No matter. I should be able to find enough to keep myself busy here.

Surveying the weapons and contemplating my choices, I finally decide to take a pair of SW-14rs, a DLT-19, a Scout Blaster, a Stouker, and several Concussion and Frag Grenades, three each. It sounds like quite a bit to handle for one being, but after obtaining belt and holster from the wall, it makes things much more manageable. Oh, it feels so much better to be fully armed again, but…something feels off. It feels like something is missing. This quandary gnaws at me for several milliseconds before the answer arrives: I have no target. What is a hunter without his prey, after all. I consider going to see the Master for orders, but instead decide to test the limits of what he will allow me to get away with and thus decide to pay a visit to the Executor’s bridge.

If the sight of me had drawn attention from the uniformed meatbags before, the sight of me armed caused them to avoid me at all cost and scurry away in fright. The fact that the Executor’s security has not yet tried to neutralize me is more than likely thanks to the Master. Striding onto the bridge, I survey its landscape, the sunken crew pits and the work stations on the upper decks, all teaming with greasy, uniformed meatbags.

Exclamation: I desire to speak with this vessel’s commanding officer, immediately,” I call out, my vocabulator booming, garnering the attention of all on the bridge. There would be no ignoring me from any of these menially-tasked fleshbags.

It was a bizarre thing to hear.

“Exclamation: I desire to speak with this vessel’s commanding officer, immediately,” came the voice from behind. Piett turned to see a rather ridiculous sight coming down the central walkway. Vader's announcement could scarcely have prepared anyone for it. Coming towards him was a burnt orange battle droid of antique design, strapped to the ball bearings with high tech Imperial weaponry and mincing across the bridge with an air of superiority. Piett had half a mind to have his officers open fire.

And yet, this was apparently Lord Vader's new toy, and so instead of blasting it, Piett intended to show it courtesy. "I am Admiral Piett. I am to understand you are Lord Vader's new assassin droid. How charming. Can I be of assistance to your master, somehow?"

Sol followed Juno up the ramp into the ship, where she, wisely changed her shirt. Sol stood relaxed against the frame of the door, watching Juno almost obsessively and marveling at her surpassing beauty. He could not have told her enough, how stunning she was.

Even, in such simple clothing as a repair uniform, her tiny, curvaceous body was far more appealing than the most exotic Twi’lek or Zeltron. Sol turned his gaze innocent, when Juno had finished and stood waiting. But, before Sol could move, Juno put her hair up into a bun.

”We don’t have much time. We should get moving.”

Sol smiled at Juno’s hurriedness. She had always been impatient, and it didn’t fail to show. Hoping to calm her excited nerves, Sol reached his hand out, clasping hers. His large hand enveloped her smaller one, while his fingers entwined themselves.

Leading her slowly, Sol walked Juno outside. His touch was delicate, as if handling the most precious rose, as it tugged lightly. When they reached PROXY, Sol pulled Juno closer and whispered.

“Move we shall, my love.”
