Jeru sat back, listening in on everyone intently, getting a feel for the crew. A Republic Observor was on board, so was a Jedi. Great. Jeru thought, he hoped the observor would be doing just that, observing, and not getting in the way or telling anyone how to go about his or her business. Same with the Jedi. He got a good vibe from him though. Jeru figured he wouldn't be spewing any religious craziness aboard the ship. The ship's pilot amused Jeru a litle bit. He made note to go and try to communicate with him when he got the chance. He later learne that Sillian would be the quartermaster too, so Jeru was hoping he would form a good relationship with him. Jeru didn't really know what he was going to be exactly doing aboard the Backstab and was waiting to get briefed by Captain Grim, herself. Abagail began her short brief, informing them that the ship was almost operational and they'd be heading out later in the day. He also got to meet his Commander, Dresden Karn. When Karn waved towards the crew Jeru noticed his tattoo. He sort of figured that most of these men here had worked for the Empire at one time or another. That fact made Jeru a litle more comfortable around everyone, since they were comming from the similar background of once working for the Emperor. Jeru was pleased to hear he would be commanding a four man commando team and working with the other teams wouldn't be a problem to him unless one of the other commando leaders had a problem. Everyone was there for similar reasons. Their intended mission was laid out by their fateful captain. It didn't matter to Jeru if they were harrassing Imperial's or Rebel's, he'd do the best job he could and would complete whatever mission was in his way. Captain Grim gave them leave and all Jeru did was nod his head in approval and hustled outside of the vessel to get his speeder bike and gear loaded up. With some help from some of the Mon Cals working at the ship yard, Jeru's speeder bike was carefully placed and secured in the landing bay. He personally lugged his bags inside the ship himself and found one of the barracks rooms. He threw his equipment on one of the bottom bunks and sat down for a moment. He rested his arms on his knees and took a sharp look around at his surroundings. It was a bit different from living on the ground in a tent or with no tent at all. Being out in the field where great times for Jeru whether it be for training or for a real world mission, he was always up for heading out with his squad into the unknown regions of the planets. Being outdoors suited him best but over the years he had grown to appreciate the time he had with a solid roof over his head and not to mention being well protected from personal attacks from the outside. Jeru didn't know if he'd be bunking with the other commando team leaders on board or if he'd be bunking with his team. He also wondered when he'd be meeting his team. He didn't know where Grim was so he took out his data pad and began to enter a very unformal message to send it to the captain. Captain Grim, How's it going Captain? I hope everything is going smoothly with trying to get off the ground. I am wondering when I'd be meeting my team and if I'd be bunking with them or the other team leaders. Get back to me soon. Thanks. Jeru Sheedo Jeru pushed Send and dropped his data pad to his side. He leaned back on his gear which was on his bed and placed his arms behind his head. He decided to wait a second until Grim could get back to him.
As Jeru sat back on his gear, he heard some voices going on back and forth with each other. He stopped ignorantly looking up at the bottom the bunk above him and lifted his head up off his heads to scan the room around him. To his surprise he had noticed the commander Karn and another one of the team leaders talking. It was the younger guy who'd had rendered a salute to Captain Grim when Jeru walked in behind him. Jeru over heard most of the convo. It was those two talking about their days as foot soldiers for the Empire. A lot of people worked for the Empire in the years following the Clone Wars. Were else could you have a steady job and earn a steady pay check. By enlisting into the Imperial Military you would never be jobless, homeless or broke. Plus they gave you the best training and experiences that anyone could have. You got to partake in Top Secret missions and head off to far away planets to kill fellow sentient beings. Bring peace to the galaxy and all the good jazz. Jeru wasn't surprised that most of the mercs nowadays had come from a simliar Imperial Background. Both of them had been of the officers ranks but it didn't matter anymore. Jeru was a high ranking NCO when he was on Endor during the Desctruction of the Empire but he had a personality that made him very likable to anybody. Jeru slowly sat up and then stood up fro his bunk turning his full attention to the fellow commandos with him in their quarters. He let his equipment stay where it lay, he would have time to put it away later in the night. He let his prescene be known as he offered his introduction towards his commander and Drake. "You guys ever train on Yinchorr?" Jeru asked. "I'm Jeru Sheedo by the way. Nice to meet you guys."
