IC: Jeru Sheedo
Location:
Mon Calamari, Conference Room of the Backstab

Jeru sat back, listening in on everyone intently, getting a feel for the crew. A Republic Observor was on board, so was a Jedi. Great. Jeru thought, he hoped the observor would be doing just that, observing, and not getting in the way or telling anyone how to go about his or her business. Same with the Jedi. He got a good vibe from him though. Jeru figured he wouldn't be spewing any religious craziness aboard the ship. The ship's pilot amused Jeru a litle bit. He made note to go and try to communicate with him when he got the chance. He later learne that Sillian would be the quartermaster too, so Jeru was hoping he would form a good relationship with him. Jeru didn't really know what he was going to be exactly doing aboard the Backstab and was waiting to get briefed by Captain Grim, herself. Abagail began her short brief, informing them that the ship was almost operational and they'd be heading out later in the day. He also got to meet his Commander, Dresden Karn. When Karn waved towards the crew Jeru noticed his tattoo. He sort of figured that most of these men here had worked for the Empire at one time or another. That fact made Jeru a litle more comfortable around everyone, since they were comming from the similar background of once working for the Emperor. Jeru was pleased to hear he would be commanding a four man commando team and working with the other teams wouldn't be a problem to him unless one of the other commando leaders had a problem. Everyone was there for similar reasons. Their intended mission was laid out by their fateful captain. It didn't matter to Jeru if they were harrassing Imperial's or Rebel's, he'd do the best job he could and would complete whatever mission was in his way. Captain Grim gave them leave and all Jeru did was nod his head in approval and hustled outside of the vessel to get his speeder bike and gear loaded up.

With some help from some of the Mon Cals working at the ship yard, Jeru's speeder bike was carefully placed and secured in the landing bay. He personally lugged his bags inside the ship himself and found one of the barracks rooms. He threw his equipment on one of the bottom bunks and sat down for a moment. He rested his arms on his knees and took a sharp look around at his surroundings. It was a bit different from living on the ground in a tent or with no tent at all. Being out in the field where great times for Jeru whether it be for training or for a real world mission, he was always up for heading out with his squad into the unknown regions of the planets. Being outdoors suited him best but over the years he had grown to appreciate the time he had with a solid roof over his head and not to mention being well protected from personal attacks from the outside. Jeru didn't know if he'd be bunking with the other commando team leaders on board or if he'd be bunking with his team. He also wondered when he'd be meeting his team. He didn't know where Grim was so he took out his data pad and began to enter a very unformal message to send it to the captain.

Captain Grim,

How's it going Captain? I hope everything is going smoothly with trying to get off the ground. I am wondering when I'd be meeting my team and if I'd be bunking with them or the other team leaders. Get back to me soon. Thanks.

Jeru Sheedo

Jeru pushed Send and dropped his data pad to his side. He leaned back on his gear which was on his bed and placed his arms behind his head. He decided to wait a second until Grim could get back to him.

Dresden Karn/ Backstab Crew Quarters

"If thats all please find yourselves a bunk. We leave inside the day."

The meeting was dismissed; even though the orders were not perfected Dresden got the concept, this would be a war of attrition, picking at the enemy little by little, breaking them down in order to deliver the final death blow, a good plan, it just needed perfecting. Dresden got up from his seat and walked over to the door of the conference room and picked up his duffel bag and slung it over his shoulder. He then made his way to the crew quarters.

Once inside the room he found the ex-imp, Drake, putting his belongings on the bunk next to him, a bunk which would later be occupied by Dresden. He gently put his rucksack on the bunk, being careful not to disrupt the delicate cargo inside, more preferably his bluebolt blaster, a weapon of considerable carnage if used to its full capacity, something Dresden had done a lot of in his days as a bounty hunter and even as his time in the imps, but he preferred not to think about that. Dresden then sat on his bunk and lit another cigaretta, inhaling the smoke deep into his lungs and then exhaling into the small room. He just hoped this ship wasn’t anti smoking or thins was going to be a long trip. The smoke soon drifted out through the small air vent in the wall. Dresden then turned to look at Drake.

“Hope I’m not bothering you, just tell me, I don’t mind,” said Dresden trying to sound as sincere as possible, he hadn’t had much practice with it just being himself for all these years.

“And if you don’t mind me asking, you were an imp right, where did you serve, what occupation I mean?

OOC: Just my humble opinion, I think it would be cool for the team leaders to bunk in a communal area, like having someplace to sit and watch the holonet and stuff that had entrances to shared bunks.

IC:
Drake Antares
Backstab

Drake followed Karn with his peripherial vision as he entered the room. So he'd be bunking with someone. His Commander of all people. These were indeed amateurs. He just hoped they'd survive long enough to get paid. That was his driving force these, his idealism lay in the shards of Alderaan.

“Hope I’m not bothering you, just tell me, I don’t mind,” said Dresden trying to sound as sincere as possible, he hadn’t had much practice with it just being himself for all these years. And if you don’t mind me asking, you were an imp right, where did you serve, what occupation I mean?" Commander Karn asked him.

Drake took a deep breath. He didnt like talking about his past, too many transgressions. Too many bad things happening to good people. He took a moment to size up Karn. he was definitely Imperial, peak physical condition, a hair too tall to be a Stormtrooper. His eyes portrayed an experience and intelligence far beyond that of a shock trooper. They probably had more in common than Drake wanted to admit.
At least not everyone here is an amateur. Drake thought.

"I started at the Academy on Carida...planning on being a ground pounder until I was noticed and hoisted into the officer ranks but the Imperial Special Intelligence got me. I led an elite squad until they decided it was better to ensure we didnt defect to the Rebellion by killing us...I was the only one who escaped. I made sure the Moff responsible took several hours to die." Drake gave the short version.

IC: Dresden Karn/ Backstab Crew Quarters

"I started at the Academy on Carida...planning on being a ground pounder until I was noticed and hoisted into the officer ranks but the Imperial Special Intelligence got me. I led an elite squad until they decided it was better to ensure we didn't defect to the Rebellion by killing us...I was the only one who escaped. I made sure the Moff responsible took several hours to die." Drake gave the short version.

"Really, Carida huh, i went through officer training there, of course i suppose most of us did huh? Sounds you had a tough time, but i'm sure that moff got what he deserved," said Dresden wit ha slight smile, knowing all to well what it was like to be like Drake, to walk in shoes like his, Dresden did it for years. But he never talked about it much, and he could tell that those were painful memories for Drake.

"Yeah i was in something like that, real heavy black ops, so far in the podoo there are no files on them. I was good at it, real good, but i soon got a bad feeling, call it intuition. so i got out before the podoo hit the fan if you don't mind me saying," said Dresden as he pulled things from his rucksack and placed them in the small compartments under his bunk. this story was of course a partial lie. of course he had been in the Phantom Project and had been good at killing, but he didn't get out just because of some cowardly intuition, no it was deeper than that, a memory Dresden had almost forgotten until today. He regretted his stupidity on bringing it up in the conversation, he should have just let it die. He than stood up and sat on his bed, and began to look over one of the team leaders that would be under his command. yes he would work out nicely, good choice on Cpatain Grim's part.

IC: Migalia Bitalio

I am

A hand was thrust at him after he had asked who had been in charge. His eyes went from the hand up to the speakers face.

Migaliga blinked in surprise.

A woman? Hmmm this might get interesting.

Contrary to the popular belief, some Mandolorians did in fact have manners of gentleman. It didn't help the overall consideration that 90% of Mando's were straight up warriors that would just as soon get drunk and sloppy than shoot a man.

Migalia took the captains hand in his and twisted it slightly. Bringing the back of hers to his lips. He was bent at the waist and had a single hand behind him as he bowed. A gentlemans greeting.

"A pleasure to meet you Captain Abagail. My name is Migalia Bitalio."

There was something about her, Migalia realized. Something that caught his eye, that nagged at him.

She is kriffing beautiful, thats what it is.
She is also your new employer...

Well it was true. If one thing could be said about Migalia he at least had the voice of reason.

He released her hand and stepped backwards into the room as she began to debrief them. His arms folded across his chest as he listened.

Four man team doesn't sound bad. Keeps things simple and straight forward.

After all was said and done, Migalia lingered for a moment. Searching his brain for a question to ask Abagail. But he found none. He was itching to talk to her about something but nothing came to mind. Giving up internally he turned to leave. He reached for a comlink and messaged to his previous lodging to have his baggage transferred to the Backstab. He hadn't taken into account that they would be departing almost as soon as possible.

He gear arrived and a young human boy in his late teens was struggling to lift an armored box off of the hover cart. Migalia walked up to him and placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. The boy looked up startled, but then recognized who it was and smiled as he began to tug at the box once more.

"It's alright Ad'ika, I got this one."

The boy stared in shock as Migalia lifted it with ease with one hand. Mandolorians had to be strong to carry their own armor after all. A second box was pulled from the cart and the boy heard various clinks inside. Metallic items. Possibly shells for a slug thrower or, knives of some kind. The young man followed Migalia into the ship and helped him stow his gear. It wasn't part of his job to help that much and he wasn't looking for a large tip. He just admired being with Migalia. The mando had been on world for about a week. And in that week he had given advice and helped with small chores that the young mans job dictated. No other tenents in the hotel in Mon Calamari's main city had helped him like that. The boy appreciated it because Migalia asked for nothing in return. He had also grown quite fond of the name Ad'ika. Migalia had explained to him that in Mando'a, it meant "Little One".

"Where will you be going Mr Migalia?"

The man looked over and shrugged.

"We haven't been given a destination yet. Will you be continueing your job at the hotel?"

The boy nodded. "For now at least. I will miss you Mr Migalia."

Migalia smiled at the boy. "You will do just fine. It is rare to see young men like yourself so dedicated to their jobs. Just remember to stay dedicated if it is what you really want to do. Ok?"

The boy nodded and finished pushing a crate under Migalia's bunk. The Mandolorian towered above the young man and took out a credit chip worth 15 creds. He stuffed it in the boys shirt pocket and clapped him on the shoulder.

"Now go on. No telling when this thing will be taking off, you probably would get fired from your job if you went off adventuring."

The boy smiled and walked out.

Migalia quickly changed his pants. The Camo pattern was all good and fine, but not really suited for his purposes right now. He changed into matching pants but instead of the camo pattern they were jet black, like the rest of his outerwear. He tucked the ends of his pants into his heavy duty boots and made sure that the line they dropped to was precise.

Migalia walked out of his rooms with his hands clasped behind his back. He went to explore the rest of the ship.

And hopefully run into the Captain....

IC: Sillian - Cockpit

Sillian sat in the Cockpit, where he had slept upright in the chair whilst the proceedings of the conference room ended and the Jedi had left. Sillian had locked the door with a modification and told only Abigail and the Jedi the entrance code, it was similarily unbreachable from the other side, so if they all died the ship would too. This was a bit drastic, but Sillian simply diddn't trust, especially with all the misfits that had come aboard. A mandalorian, a gran - a notorious criminal race by his perspective - and all manner of Humans...He was completing the tasks that Abigial had left him via Datanote. He then contacted her on the comm, but she was not responding so he left a message "Abi? Anything else to do?" he ended the message and sent it. Then he relaxed and placed the comm on his ear so if called he would awake. Then he fell asleep again.

IC - Scotty
Engineroom

Glaring at the young kid in front of him, Scotty couldn't help notice what the youth had just removed. "Are you daft man?! That's no ice cream scoop, that's the manual emergency release for the power coupling! We could have a blow out of our entire battery system without this in place!"

Irate, he grabbed the handle from the kid. "Who let you come around here playing mechanic?" Before the kid could speak, Scotty cut him off. "Nevermind, just go do something you're more suited to, like polishing the hull, or cleaning out the main fresher dump - I've more important things to do than babysit someone barely out of diapers. Jengs man, what have been learning?"

Dismissing the kid, he turned to the loafers who were chitchatting with each other. "Did you Tatooine dung beetles assign that mental midget to wreck the engines or do you just not care what happens on this ship when we leave dock? I'll thank you to do the work yourselves or leave it to me - since you obviously don't know a plasma conduit from your backside."

There were limits to what the last angry man could take, even for his captain. Before they left the dock he'd have to personally inspect each and every vital system, just to make sure they got to Nar Shaddaa without getting pulled into a black hole or creating any energy bubbles that could rip the very fabric of space apart due to a faulty coolant vent or some such nonsense.

That being said, he had an inkling that Abi wanted to leave very soon, so he got to work inspecting the hyperdrive coil.

OOC: Having us all Bunk together sounds good. I was just making sure we'd all be on the same page. I'll add it into my next post. Here it goes.

IC: Jeru Sheedo
Location:
Mon Calamari Shipyard, Backstab, Crew Quarters

As Jeru sat back on his gear, he heard some voices going on back and forth with each other. He stopped ignorantly looking up at the bottom the bunk above him and lifted his head up off his heads to scan the room around him. To his surprise he had noticed the commander Karn and another one of the team leaders talking. It was the younger guy who'd had rendered a salute to Captain Grim when Jeru walked in behind him. Jeru over heard most of the convo. It was those two talking about their days as foot soldiers for the Empire. A lot of people worked for the Empire in the years following the Clone Wars. Were else could you have a steady job and earn a steady pay check. By enlisting into the Imperial Military you would never be jobless, homeless or broke. Plus they gave you the best training and experiences that anyone could have. You got to partake in Top Secret missions and head off to far away planets to kill fellow sentient beings. Bring peace to the galaxy and all the good jazz. Jeru wasn't surprised that most of the mercs nowadays had come from a simliar Imperial Background. Both of them had been of the officers ranks but it didn't matter anymore. Jeru was a high ranking NCO when he was on Endor during the Desctruction of the Empire but he had a personality that made him very likable to anybody. Jeru slowly sat up and then stood up fro his bunk turning his full attention to the fellow commandos with him in their quarters. He let his equipment stay where it lay, he would have time to put it away later in the night. He let his prescene be known as he offered his introduction towards his commander and Drake.

"You guys ever train on Yinchorr?" Jeru asked. "I'm Jeru Sheedo by the way. Nice to meet you guys."

"Black Ops uh? I remember we had to exact a black ops team leader once. He was caught by that Jedi...Skystalker or something so instead of the typical 'Deny deny deny', they had us extract and silence him. Didn't know what those Jedi could do." Drake said, his eyes focusing on the distance past.
Drake shoot out of it when another of their bunk mates and Commando leaders introduced himself.
"I am Drake Antares...can't say I ever worked on Yinchorr...probably fortunate for those people...my squad focused on...aggressive negotiations. I heard they attacked the Jedi Temple during the Clone Wars."

OOC: The communal Bunk room sounds good. It is going to be just off the Officer lounge and accessible only from there.
By the way the four man squads are going to be you and three NPCs that you control. They are from Jacob Nives Survivors group, go ahead and give them names if you want and roleplay them like extensions of your character.
Brentusofgath fell free to take control of Conrad if you so desire.

IC: Abigail Grim
Location: Onboard the BackStab

Abigail walked the ship, checking on progress and just generally getting to know the crew. Jacob was up in the bridge making sure the connections to the engine room were working.
In a little less than six hours they would be underway. She knew her first stop would be Nar Shaddaa and Shug’s barn, somethings you just couldn’t upgrade in a shipyard.

After touring the ship she found there was little left to do other than the engine over hall, and she had full confidence that Scotty would handle that in his usual efficient way. She settled into her cabin to wait. Picking up her flute she started playing an old Alderaanian Ballad. One that spoke of love and loss and life and death of family and friends long lost.

Tag: no one really, but Abigail’s door is open.

Dresden Karn/ Backstab Crew Quarters

"You guys ever train on Yinchorr?" asked Jeru sheedo. The man as fairly young, he had certainly received some military training by the imps, which didn’t bother Dresden one bit, he would rather be in command of brothers rather than strangers. He turned to the Jeru.

“Yinchorr you say? Yeah I’ve been there once or twice. Me and some other members of my team went there to train and be trained. Pretty good program if you ask me, but that’s just my opinion,” said Dresden matter-of-factly. He then rose to his feet and made a few paces around the room.

“I’m gonna catch some air if it alright with you,” he said as he sauntered out of the room, his cigaretta still smoldering while in hung from his lips, the smoke continuing to fill the air. He strolled into the office lounge, and then continued down the long corridors of the ship. He raised his hand and ran it along the smooth, white plasteel walls, it felt cool to the touch, which was good because it could was hotter than Mustafar in here. As he kept walking, he heard a faint noise, it sounded like an instrument but Dresden didn’t know what kind, they hadn’t taught him about musical instrument in the Phantom Project. The song being played was luring, it slipped into the deepest point of a Dresden’s mind and stuck there. The song drove him onward, curious to find out where it was coming from.

He continued to walk the corridors in search of the origin of the music. The sound fuianlly floated down a short hallway towards the Captain quarters. Dresden slowly walked down the short hallway to the open door to Abi’s quarters. There he found his captain playing a flute.

“You’re pretty good at that; ever think about making it into a profession? It would certainly be a little more life extending than this occupation,” he said with a smile. He leaned in Abi’s doorway and put out the butt of his cigaretta, which he stuck in his pocket.

Backstabs hallways

Migalia had left the boy to leave the ship. After changing, he began roaming the hallways.

The ship itself was not altogether impressvie, however even though Migalia couldn't pilot, he knew that a vessel's looks had little to do with it's performance capabilities in the right hands.

As he walked through the hallways, Migalia heard a beautiful melody vibrating off the walls. His eyes cocked up to the side and he tried to focus on where it was coming from.

His travels carried him across the mid decks of the ship and finally came to a rest in front of Captain Abagail Grim's cabin. Dresden was already there, leaning in the doorway.

Fierfek

Migalia walked closer still but made to seem as if he were not taking notice, and just taking a walk around. His gaze poked inside of Abagail's cabin as he passed and he saw her with a flute. His lips played into a charming smile and a slight nod as he passed. But that was the extent of the interaction.

He continued on down the hallway slowly, lest Abagail need him for some reason or another and he needed to hurry back.

He would need to meet his new squad soon however. He wanted to know who he was working with before they were thrust into a bad situation.

But for the now... he hoped that his new Captain had something to speak to him about. For Migalia was all to ready to spin on a heel and reappear in the doorway.

"Yes I thought about joining a orchestra, even had an offer to do so. But that was before they were destroyed on Alderaan. Not much of a chance now."

She put her flute down, having lost her desire to play it at the moment, and headed out the door.
She saw that Mandalorian in the hallway, and it took her a second to remember his name. Migilia... or something like that.

"How are you guys settling in? Any problems so far?"

"How are you guys settling in? Any problems so far?"

Migalia turned and looked at the Captain standing there.

"No problems at all Ma'am. Just exploring the ship a little."

And looking for a reason to talk to you...

The Mandalorian's face remained impassive as he took a few steps towards his Captain. He felt himself getting nervous next to her but it wasn't in a fidgeting sort of way. It was excitement. He clamped down a lock on his rampant emotions before they caused him to slip up and show an emotion in front of the captain he shouldn't have.

He was a warrior after all. Such things were inappropriate for a Mandolorian warrior. But that didn't mean his mind would not go wanting. Having ABIGAIL around would be taxing on his mind unless something gave. But it was still early to say what that would be. There was something terribly alluring and forboding about her at the same time. He would have to figure things out when he had a moment to think.

"Would the Captain care to show a humble Mandolorian around her vessel? Nothing like a first class tour...."

"Would the Captain care to show a humble Mandolorian around her vessel? Nothing like a first class tour...."

She almost laughed out loud. She could tell this Mando had a healthy ego, and humble just didn't fit him at all. " A humble Mandalorian? How does that work? Thanking your enemies for allowing you to kill them?"

She stepped into the hanger and went over to where the fighters rested. One in particular, a red and gold "Clutch" fighter, was significantly different from the rest. Instead of three fins it had four, the top two were mounted the same as the bottom two. Each fin tip, including the bottom two, had ion cannon nozzles. Four laser cannons were on the main body of the craft, two below the cockpit and two above it. The main body and engines of the fighter were not the standard TIE/In that the rest were, it was that of a TIE/Interceptor. All together it was a formidable fighter.

"Sorry I'm not the tour guide type, but if you want to get me that case of hydrospanners and diagnostics you can help me maintenance my fighter."
