Hangar

"Sorry I'm not the tour guide type, but if you want to get me that case of hydrospanners and diagnostics you can help me maintenance my fighter."

Migalia smiled and bowed indulgantly, his single large sleeve swaying slightly.

He followed Abigail to the hangar as she stepped away. Migalia grabbed a toolbox as he stepped up to the abnormal Clutch fighter.

"I may not be good at flying these things but I'm not too bad at fixing them..."

The Mandolorian commando reached up and tugged lightly twice on his sleeve. The fabric seperated and slid down his arm. Now both arms were bare, except for one detail. Underneath of the sleeve was a contraption attached to Migalias arm. Inside of it was a short sword that would eject into his waiting hand when bidden. He unstrapped the contraption and laid it down gingerly on the soft sleeve, then grabbed the toolbox again, ready to assist the Captain.

"Looks like I get to get my hands dirty, what's first?"

Migalia spoke as he rounded the craft. It was unique but not terribly so. He recognized a few of the add-ons.

If nothing else, Migalia's mechanical use would help him spend time with his new commander.

Dresden Karn/ Backstab

"Yes I thought about joining a orchestra, even had an offer to do so. But that was before they were destroyed on Alderaan. Not much of a chance now."

"Really? Well if it means anything, i'm sorry i really am, loss like that is never easy i know," said Dresden with heartfelt sympathy, a feeling he hadn't felt in a long time.

"How are you guys settling in? Any problems so far?"

"No problems, it been pretty good thus far. you got a good crew on board, i'm looking forward to looking for them," he sadi as she passed by him into the hallway. her eyes were drawn to the young Madalorian named Magalia. he began to strike up a conversation with the captain.

No problems at all Ma'am. Just exploring the ship a little."

"Would the Captain care to show a humble Mandolorian around her vessel? Nothing like a first class tour...."

This made Dresden chuckle a little bit inside, well he was shameless and obviously a ruthless flirt, he's fit in just fine. Oh well he's just a young kid in love thought Dresden, he had been that way before to, with his wife, his son, his family. Dresden quickly shook his head to wipe away the memory. and as Abi agreed, they both started to walk off towards the hangar. Dresden turned and began to walk down another corridor, not knowing whee it would lead, Much like my life, much like my life whispered Dresden to himself.

IC - Scotty
engineroom

Picking a bone fragment from the hyperspace relay junction - and cussing under his breath - he heard a gasp and turned to find the young mechanic from earlier gaping at his work. The kid stiffened up into some kind of military stance when he saw Scotty looking at him. "Sir," the kid said, "I did what you said; I cleaned out the waste recyclers; now would you tell me what you're doing so I can one day become as good at yelling at people as you are... Sir!"

The kid was going to keep prying until he got somewhere. "And just who are you?" Scotty asked, almost dreading the answer.

"Corporal Chase Conrad the Third, sir. I believe I was transfered to your engineering crew from spacedock duty."

"Oh, great," Scotty said, a nasty wolfish grin spreading on his face. "Now if we ever run out of liquid fuel in space, I have something to shove into the incinerator to make some more."

Conrad's eyes bulged, but to the kid's credit he didn't run. "Well, in the meantime, would you at least teach me a thing or two about engineering so I can have a head start in the next life?

Impressed the kid wouldn't run in an emergency, Scotty lightened up on him for the moment. "I have some diagrams of the ships normal space engines I want you to look over. For now, the hyperdrive is... functional, but we'll need to go shopping as soon as we get to Nar Shaddaa to find a strong electron seal for the tertiary hypercoil - otherwise we risk burning up in hyperspace. These damn primates in dockworkers' clothing don't know a thing about traveling through space. Or I should say they know enough that they'd never set foot in a ship they worked on." He handed Conrad a datapad. "Start studying up while I go call the captain."

The comm unit on the wall hissed and sparks flew from it when he hit the button. "Damn dockworkers!" he yelled. He pried off the panel and groaned at what he saw. "This thing's wired like a Christmas tree!"

"A what?" Conrad asked.

"Nevermind," Scotty admonished. "Just promise me you won't touch a thing until I get back."

fighter bay

Stepping swiftly into the bay, he came across Abi and a rather large Mandalorian. "I figured I'd find you here, Captain," he said with a small smile. "Despite having the dock mechanics tinker around, we're as ready as we're going to be - once we get to Nar Shaddaa, what kind of a budget am I going to have to get some real parts instead of this plasteel garbage they call 'factory spec'?"

Sillian walked to his seat in the bridge again after a short lavatory break...again. And sat down, he had been told be Abigail to only close the door and lock it on CODE 3 and When we are under attack. So he had to leave it open, to his blatant dismay (im fine with it), he began doing some more jobs, when he sent Abigail another message "Umm, where do you want me to go? because im not social like you, and the Jedi's gone walkabouts.

"Looks like I get to get my hands dirty, what's first?"

"You could run a diagnostic on the weapons systems."

She popped open the engine hatch while Migalia started to connect the Diagnostic equipment.
Half an hour went by pretty quickly. Abigail was face first into the engine hatch when she felt someone coming up behind her.

"I figured I'd find you here, Captain,"

Abigail pulled herself out of the hatch. Her hands were greasy and she had a smudge on the left half of her nose. She smiled at Scotty.

"Whats the prognoses Scott?"

"Despite having the dock mechanics tinker around, we're as ready as we're going to be - once we get to Nar Shaddaa, what kind of a budget am I going to have to get some real parts instead of this plasteel garbage they call 'factory spec'?"

Abigail frowned a little, her parents had left her a tide little inheritance that she had not touched since their deaths.

"Just make up a list and go shopping, take Sillian with you if he can't get you a good deal on it then its not worth it."

Scotty smiled at her then gestured to the fighter. "Don't tinker to much with it, I just fix it."
Abigail smiled. "Well if you would fix it right, I wouldn't have to tinker with it."

She laughed a little. This kind of joking was common place with her and Scott. Her comlink beeped.
"Umm, where do you want me to go? because im not social like you, and the Jedi's gone walkabouts."
"Get dockyard control on the line and get clearance to disembark, then set our course for Nar Shaddaa."
She flipped her comlink over to the ships PA system. "All hands prepare to depart."
She flipped the engine hatch close on her fighter.

"I better get to the Bridge"

Drake heard the call for preparations and headed to the bridge. As a commando he didn't have an official station until they were ready to do some ground pounding but until then he would make himself useful. He entered the bridge and found the pilot, a Squib. "Sillian right? I am Lt. Antares. Mind if handle turbolaser or two at a spare station?" Antares asked.

Taking a handkerchief from his sleeve, Scotty listened intently to Abi's words. "Just make up a list and go shopping, take Sillian with you if he can't get you a good deal on it then its not worth it."

He wasn't sure he liked that answer. He had more than a few creds stashed away in some accounts and Sillian seemed about as much use at the bargaining stall as a two foot Wookie with no hair at a house of ill repute.

Scotty smiled at her then gestured to the fighter. "Don't tinker to much with it, I just fix it."
Abigail smiled. "Well if you would fix it right, I wouldn't have to tinker with it." She laughed a little. This kind of joking was common place with her and Scott.

He smirked in return and quickly brought out the handkerchief, gently wiping the side of her nose. "I think that might be of better use in the fighter than on your nose." Silly time was over when Sillian called down and the boss indicated it was time to go.

Scotty nodded to Abi and hurried off back to the engine room.

engineroom

Fortunately, those other engineers he'd mentioned the new privateer to had arrived and stowed their gear and were just waiting for some orders. Conrad, however, was playing the big hero and trying to keep them from doing anything.

"It's all right, Corporal," Scotty admonished, "I asked them on this assignment; they, unlike the dockworkers, know what they're doing." He pointed out a young twilek with an old style Republic officer's uniform on. "This here's Lieutenant Calcim, my second in charge down here, you go with her - she'll bring you up to speed on what to touch and what not to touch. The rest of you - you know your jobs, let's get to it and make Captain Grim's first voyage in her new ship a pleasant one."

Scotty decided he needed a drink; once the ship slid from the dock - whenever that would be - he'd try out the officer's mess, wherever that was and see what they had.

The Mandalorian watched the exchange between the Captain and the mechanic. It figured not long after he got to spend a little time with Abagail, the ship was ready to depart and the time went by like it was nothing. Oh well... this would at least give him time to get to know his new squad. That was next on his list of priorities.

He finished his diagnostics as Abi walked away, content on settling into her other duties as captain. Migalia packed the diagnostic screen away and gave the craft one last look over to make sure that everything was closed up in case it needed to be utilized.

He wiped off his hands on a rag he found laying around and grabbed his blade-sleeve, reattached it and began wedging it into a comfortable position as he walked from the hangar.

He continued to roam around the ship for a few minutes before returning to his bunk. He would stay here until they were securely in hyperspace or he was called upon to do something else.

"Hey there, darlin', come in. I've been napping. Let me know if you need any help with anything. Until then...I mean, is there anyway to dock the Goatgrass with the Backstab before you take off for Nar Shadaa? I don't suppose there would be...Hello? You there?"

The conversation in the crew quarters between the three men was short lived. Yinchorr had never been a place for any sort of operations other than for training in one of the harshest enviroments in the galaxy. It was famously known as the location for training the Red Guards of the Emperor. Jeru never trained to be one of the red guards but instead was deployed to Yinchorr for a training exercise. He hoped it would make some good convo but the other two weren't buying it. They went off on their own and left Jeru to himself in the crew quarters. Jeru walked over to his bunk and began to lay out all of his gear on his bunk to check it over once again making sure he had everything and that everything was in proper condition. He carefully placed his equipment and the rest of his belongings in his wall locker and locked it up. He wasn't afraid of getting it taken, actually it was the exact oposite but he'd rather not give anybody easy access to how he had modified his armor and weapons. If they'd ask, he'd tell them or help them out in anyway they needed to be help out but he didn't like others touching his property. He gave his area a once over, checking to see if he had left anything out and it looked good. Jeru exited the crew quarters and went down to the mess hall. He was getting a little hungry and wanted to see what they had to eat here.

We are ready for liftoff. Please may we have clearance to depart" he watied while he heard her filling in the nessecary details "Ok" came the reply "You are set to go, Tractor Beams offline. We are opening a route in the spaceline for you now" she paused a moment to 'detail' some more /Here it comes/ he thought "Have a nice day, and visit again" the comm closed after that "Have a nice day yourself, gillie. And if your on that fragging end!" he sometimes had random outbursts like this, altohugh not when in the presance of those that he's directing them too. He span again at the sound of footsteps.

Gerrik had left the backstab to check up on his fighter. The combination of dark blue and black made it appear like liquid darkness. He walked around it, checked its storage containers and landing gear struts for any small parasites. Then he checked the cockpit and the control systems. All seemed okay, only the cloaking device seemed out of wack, but that was the same every time. He set the coordinates for their first mission then put the systems on standby. He then went back to the BackStab and looked around for Captain Abigail. He eventually found her in the hanger. "Well my fighter is ready, when will we be setting off?" Gerrik asked. "Though I guarantee my opinion means nothing to you the longer we stay here the more time the Empire has to re-consolidate." he added.

Dresden Karn/ Backstab Interior

As Dresden walked out of one of the hallways into a circular room with a holo table in the middle of it, it was obviously a planning and tactics room. The table was surrounded by a row of chairs. As Dresden walked toward the table, he herd a woman’s voice come over the comm. system of the ship, “Departure for Nar Shadaa shall commence in approximately one hour,” stated the voice. Dresden simply sighed and sat in one of the chairs and began to sip his coffa. He sat there in silence for a few minutes, simply looking at the floor for what seemed like eternity to him until he reached into one of his vest pockets and pulled out a small holopad. He pressed a button, which ignited a small holo image of a beautiful woman and a handsome little boy, the woman was young, looking to be in her late 20’s with brown hair that grew down to her shoulders and the boy was roughly 8 years old with eyes equivalent to Dresden’s.

Dresden looked at the image, at the woman’s soft, caring smile and the boy’s innocent face. And then Dresden noticed himself in the picture, he was happy, with a broad and joyful smile upon his face. He had never smiled like that since the day that that picture was taken. A small tear ran unchecked down his cheek, which is one thing Dresden liked about the ship, the privacy one had. The tear fell from his cheek and onto the holopad. Dresden wiped away the small drop and then held the holopad against his chest.

“I miss you, I miss you so much” he said in a murmured whisper. He gave a final glance at the holopad and then slipped it back into his pocket. He then leaned his head forward, resting them on his hands. He let out a quite sigh before raising his head and taking another sip of his coffa. Nar Shadaa, there was a place he hadn’t been to in years, and for good reason. Dresden then straightened up and rubbed his cheek in order to eliminate any trace of the tear that had fallen. And it certainly wouldn't look good in front of his men.

The trouble with beast-aliens was you could never read their expressions correctly. Did this squib think he was an idiot? He could operate cannons ten times the size of the ones on this garbage scow.
He sighed as he left the cockpit.
Stupid rat. Drake thought bitterly as he sat down at the turbolaser station.
He looked at the set-up and saw that the turbolasers had reserve batteries. While he could not charge the turbolasers without alerting all the ships in Mon Cal space as well as Mon Cal traffic control he could charge the reserve batteries and have then switch out with the primaries at the press of a button...but he would need the Captain's approval for that. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a datapad. He quickly keyed a message.

To: Captain Grim
From: Lt. Antares

I am working the turbolasers and with your permission I would like to rewire the batteries so we can have the reserve batteries charged and they can be switched out with the primaries at a moments notice for instantly charged weapons, always good to be prepared.

Lt. Antares

He put the datapad away and waited for her reply.

"I'm here Braks, You can dock the Goatgrass at the port side airlock, it has magnetic clamps to secure the vessel. You'll have to wait until we clear the dock though."

She wasn't sure why he had sent a data text instead of speaking up. Though it may have something to do with Sillian. She put her comlink away.

"Antares. The Reserve batteries should already be wired like that, but any one that has a senser feed on us will detect the reserves charging since there in the same general area as the main batteries. as soon as we jump to Hyperspace you can charge both."

She sat back as Sillian prepared to ease them out of the dock.
