As Arin watched the carnage below from the balcony, he realized that a Jedi Padawan had emerged from behind some ratty old crates. Knowing what she could be in for, for there was a dangerous Dark Jedi on the battlefield, he had to do something to make sure that she didn't get killed. Quickly, he aimed and shot a pair of dorids that blocked her path towards the enemy forces. She looked up and saw him, but before she could acknowledge him, another droid began to fire. Possbily blowing his cover, Arin stuck the barrel of his rifle over the balcony and aimed right at the heart of the enemy formation.
IC: Clone Commander Dev
Dev watched more and more clones pass him as he rounded up hi group of soldiers. "Men, we must hold this position," he said, his voice crisp and orderly. "We are the last line of defense. You see; there are no further units behind us. We are the end of the line, gentlemen. If the enemy gets past us, the ship is doomed, and the rest of the fleet will be flanked and destroyed by this ship. Any question?"
"No sir!" the clones shouted as they got into their positions. Dev watched the door at the end of the hallway; if the enemies got through, the mission would be a failure. He could not let the enemy pass.
OOC: Dev's lines are adapted from the movie "Gettysburg", where the regiment of Maine soldiers hold off a Confederate charge.

Dev stood there, watching the door at the end of the hallway. Any moment, droids could spill out of it. If that happened, it was highly likely that his troops would get slaughtered; especially with a Dark Jedi involved. He was nervous, but his soldier-consciousness told him to stay focused. His men were crouching, waiting for him to give the signal in case the door was breached; it was going to be very intense if the CIS got through.

Goreb was in the middle of severing a clones head when he noticed the Jedi charging at him. Goreb smiled he, he was itching to fight a Jedi.
Goreb ignited the dual blades of his lightsaber and engaged the Jedi. She was good, she could block, perry, and dodge, all his attacks. But he could see she was tiring.

OOC: I may be new, but I am far from stupid.  I checked the link on the star wars wiki, and Soresu, is meant to be used in order to prevent becoming fatigued over long battles. Aimi may not be a master of the form, but please don't count my character out in such a way. ~_^

Dual blades? In practice this never came up much, because there were only a few she trained with that even considered using the Jar'kai lightsaber form. Aimi vowed to herself to do her best, keeping her lightsaber blade close to her body to minimize her openings and maximize her defense. She would study her enemy well. However, the dead clonetroopers laying around them made it difficult to move around effectively, but even with her focus she would endure.
She didn't plan on dying... not yet.

As the battle raged aboard the Celetron, the space battle was intensifying. More CIS ships had appeared and began firing at the Republic assault ships. Volley after volley of laser blasts flew around the battlefield, some hitting their marks while others flew off pointlessly into space. CIS droid starfighters had been deployed to weaken the assault ships, but ARC-170 fighters quickly evened the playing field. It was going to be a struggle for control of the planet; if Dev's men could not hold on to the ship, then the Republic would lose the battle...and the CIS would gain control of the planet.

The Droids were closing in on the command deck, the battle would soon be over. The droids blew the door open with a bang. Droids were dropping like flies, the clones had a defensive position on the command deck. But they were weakening, the droids just kept coming, knock one down and another came in to take its place. This was the last stand, it was a lose, lose situation. If they lost the bridge the droids would hold the ship. If they were able to defend it the ship would be destroyed. A clone threw a grenade out into the hall and blew up the droids. But not before a stray blaster shot hit the pilot in the chest. The pilot fell on his controls sending the ship on a crash coarse to the planet. A clone ran over to revert coarse, but the controls were busted. And to make things worse they were cut off from the escape pods.

IC: Darth Goreb
Darth Goreb faced his opponent, she was better then he thought. She could defend against anything he did. Goreb lunged for her chest, then back swept and slashed at her head. He was astonished at how well she could parry his blows. Goreb was preparing to use force lightning when he, and everything else in the hanger, went flying. The ship had just entered the atmosphere and was heading at high speed towards the planet.

Arin, still standing up on the balcony, realized that the ship was going down towards the planet. Down below, the Jedi and Sith were still fighting, but the droids had continued on. Thinking quickly, Arin ran out of the office and headed to the manual weapons overlay box. As he searched for the right button, he could see that it was labeled by code. Deciphering the code (for it was part of basic training to learn codes), Arin figured out the switch that controlled the hangar gun battery. Aiming through the box and looking at the hangar deck, he loosely let fire a few shots. From the sounds of it, he had just broken the combatants' concentration. Maybe that would give time for the Jedi to escape before she would be eventually killed by the more experienced Sith Lord.
OOC: The Celetron dove towards the planet, its manual controls busted and pilot dead. The remainders of Dev's troops took up stations on the command deck as the remaining deck officers tried to right the ship. Without a doubt, the other Republic ships would be destroyed by the larger CIS force, but the ship had to be saved to fight another day. Wrestling with the controls, a deck officer shouted "They're dead! Switch to backup manual control!" A clone pushed a button on the side wall, and a small pilot-like yoke appeared out of a small compartment. Yanking on it tightly, the deck officer tried to stabilize the ship, and if that was not possible, save the ship from destruction down on the planet.

He rushed to a LAAT, and jumped aboard.
His guards jumped on, along with several droids.

Arin had just fired off a few shots from the hangar battery, and could now hear the sound of a LAAT taking off. At that moment, his comlink buzzed, meaning that he was being paged. Holding it up to his helmet, Arin realized that it was ARC Commander Pitt, who wanted to know where Arin was. "Trooper, what is your position?"
"Hangar Bay, by the manual controls."
"We'll come and get you. Stay where you are."
It was obvious to Arin that Pitt wanted all of his squad intact; he could not dare attack the LAAT with the hangar battery, because then the Dark Jedi might find out where he was and swiftly kill him. He had to sit and wait for the next events to unfold.

She managed to deflect the blows well enough until the ship was jostled. Aimi had been in deep concentration, focused on her surroundings and the dark Jedi before her, but the shaking ship caused her to tumble. Her options were slim at this point as she fell next to one of the fallen troopers. On his body she found his weapon, standard issue for clones she supposed, picking it up as she eyed the dark Jedi from her prone position among the corpses. The padawan was far enough away to avoid a direct saber strike, and the plummeting ship would cause more confusion than she expected.
Aiming the weapon by resting her hand atop the chestplate of a dead clone, she closed her eyes and fired two shots. She only squeezed the trigger once, but apparently it managed two. Both shots headed towards the dark Jedi, and surprised at herself, her fight or flight instincts told her that this fight was done for now. Neither one claimed victory over the other, but the invading troopers were leaving on the LAAT.
Aimi didn't know what to do other than look on in shame as the enemy intruders escaped. She hoped that if it came down to it, they would land safely and the dark Jedi wouldn't get away.
