The last slap split Si's cheek, and he fell down, rolling to the ground, the pain of his hand and innumerous small wounds; the ache of old wounds he'd received at the hands of torture; the cut into his shin; the scar on his throat; the mass of burnt flesh that was his other hand; the broken hand that had healed wrong, so wrong, with little jutting pieces of bone enveloped by uneven clumps of skin and black scabs...

He woke up.

"Si. It´s the Xenly. The Dark Side. It attacks your mind. Your soul. I need you here, boy. I need your help!" The Professor desperately asked, almost crying.

Si leaned on his elbows as he pushed up, feeling them, beside them, inside him. The cloaked man cackled, and then looked from them to him, eyes meeting his. Sae's eyes.

Betrayal.

Si blinked, at the harsh and terrible voice, and felt them recede, ever so slightly.

And Si stood, hesitantly, placing his weight on his wounded leg, the pain pushing back them. He felt tears dribbling down his cheeks, mingling with the blood on his chip, and he took a deep breath. He closed his eyes, and jerked them open again - he could feel them even more in the Dark. He dare not close his eyes. Dare not. "Professor... Thank you."

Si looked around, flexing dry skin on his burnt hand, thinking of Kira, and feeling a flicker of minds in his, wondering, exploring. What had happened? He'd read stories of Xenly taking minds all the time - how had he survived? Si looked at the Professor again.

"It's time to go."

He looked up from his work and nodded. There was a sudden air about people when something bad had happened. It followed them and those they touched around until it was either resolved or just faded away. Kaya had that air about her. Leaving the communications room, Kaya led him to the commander's quarters. It had been a while since Lorj had talked to the Commander and he had been wondering how he was doing. In any case, there was business to handle now.

Museum, On the roof

As he and his amphistaff finished their opponent he heard a noise behind him, and finding that Melmot appeared to need no help turned to investigate.

"Kiar." He heard behind him. Uhl collapsed against the wreck of their ship. Hit by a stray shot form one of the lancers fighting Melmot. A burning hole in his side he looked up. "Kiar." He repeated. The pain spreading.

"Relish the pain. Work with the second gift from the god's." Bending down he took out what materials amounted to a Vong Med-pac and went to work, "Hold on friend the fight is not over yet, many battles have we to face together before we die and go to the deciding gate."

He worked feverishly to apply the living containments on Uhl, his friend and fellow guardian for the gods in these hard times.

He could not die yet, he could not do this alone, not only with Melmot.

"Impressive. You have more spirit of a warrior than this Jedi Master last week." Rictor Catain mocked the Jedi and as the young man grabbed his lightsaber with the force, put pressure against his grab. The e lightsaber never moved, while the pain inside of the younger man obviously got worse. The grin grew even broader. Turning his head he saw the fires spinning out of control. A wave of his hand and they spread. Everywhere in the room. Then he turned back to Hespar Kessler and raised his lightblade.

"Your Master is next, little one!" He hissed. And his blade came down. A centimeter before Hespar´s face it came to a stop. A silver blade blocking it. Next to them, apparently from nowhere, a young man in red robes had appeared. In his hand a silver lightblade. Looking with his grey-blue intense eyes he lay his head to the side. "Why don´t you try to kill someone your age, Vahl?" He asked and pushed Rictor Catains blade away. The attacker stumbled, but did not let the new arrival impress him longer than a second. Immediately his blade turned to the man, who now revealed the red armor hidden beneath his robes. The savior was a Knight. Just not a Jedi Knight. Hespar had been saved by one of Roan Fel´s Imperial Knights. Dodging two attacks instead of blocking the Imperial Knight pushed Rictor away. Raised his brow. Blocked the next to attacks with great ease and whirled around, kicking Rictor into the chest.

The Worshiper of Vahl rammed into the concrete wall and looked up. Angry. Furious. His dark power radiating from him. The Imperial Knight showed no emotion at all. Only dedication. "So?" He asked. And Rictor Catain leaped towards Hespar´s savior. The Imperial Knight stepped back with two fast steps, blocked the incoming blade and unleashed a short attack. Unbalancing Rictor. As the Darksider stumbled back, both of his arms were cut by a swift strike by the Imperial Knight. The dead limbs fell to the ground, as the attacker screamed and collapsed.

"Only a Vahl." The Imperial Knight said and turned. "You´re okay, Padawan?" He asked, giving him a dry smile. "Actually that would have been your Master´s job. But good for me, when he leaves the fun-part to me." Taking the attacker at his clothes he threw him in front of Hespar´s feet. "I guessed you needed him alive." He said and deactivated his lightsaber, hanging it back to his belt.

[image=http://klavious5.deviantart.com/art/Imperial-Knight-112707642] But with a silver blade . . .

The man stepped to Hespar and offered him a hand. Half courtesy, half to help him up. "I am Imperial Knight Eydan Skorne."

Hoole
Asteroid Alpha

Looking out of the window of his command post he could see the caves beneath. The hollow asteroid was parted into two sections. One to life in, one for the death in shape of Xenly. He was in the shielded, contained section where Xenly was not allowed to enter. Strong energy barriers made sure of it. the few other humans and many droids maintained the system relentlessly. Down there was Si Kya, his Professor and some of the others, now. To stir Xenly awake. Awaken him from the lethargy he had experienced lately. Fear would help. And afraid Si Kya would be.

Xenly. The ever degenerating remains of his only apprentice. His only friend, actually.

Someone who shared his dark dreams, but not his courage.

He remembered . . .

He watched the creature before him. Lifted the pressure on the things mind and it immediately jumped at him, clawing for his face. He ignited his lightsaber and stabbed it. Through the chest. It´s long extremities hurled and it screamed and finally died. He heard the screams everywhere in the ship. All other creatures felt the same. Creatures. It was the year 58 before the Battle of Yavin and Hoole had begun to call these things creatures.

The Rage Xenly had called the state of total darkness he had brought his children into. A moment where only destruction was important. Killing. Death. He had unleashed his childer on Roche like beasts of legends. And the Verpine had feared them like those. Now they seemed to be lost in this state of mind. Ever since their father had died they had easily skipped into it. Now they had lost all that was conscious. "Sit!" Hoole shouted at hew thing. And frustrated he hammered it into the wall. It was the year 41 before the Battle of Yavin and Hoole had begun to contain them. Or they would attack and kill everything alive.

They did no longer reproduce out of necessity. They only did. He watched the sensor-data. Thousands of them. A view days he brought hundred to the new asteroid. The miners had been eaten alive by them. He remembered what Xenly looked like. Dark-green skin. His eyes turned reddish. They creatures looked nothing like him. Their head was slowly vanishing into their torso. They had jaws, again. Teeth. The hands degenerated to claws. It was the year 37 before the Battle of Yavin and Hoole kept concentrated at all times around his children.

Only through his will he directed them. A whole team of Jedi and Republic soldiers had been send to Ishtana. None of them would ever return. The Xenly swarmed towards the guests. He did not order them to, he had only kept them at bay long enough to make an escape impossible to the visitors. It was the year 24 before the Battle of Yavin and no matter what one said to them, the Xenly did no longer respond. Only through the force they could be guided now.

The Death Star is destroyed. it was hard concentrating on this fact. Hoole tried. War. A new war was coming. Xenly was always in his mind now. And he was always in his. Their dark souls merged into one. And Hoole knew he would need to clean himself of them, or he would soon be gone. Lost in Xenly. And Xenly wanted that. Xenly desired his death. It was the year of the Battle of Yavin and Hoole had stopped thinking of them as many, but called it Xenly.

His face showed no emotion, as another wave of pain ran through his chest.

"Medical station, prepare to see me." He said into the comm and turned. Azura was,as always these days faithful behind him. "Leave me alone." He only said and waved. And with a bow she went out. Breaking her had been amusing. But too effective he thought.

Karideph, Museum, Level 33

"Fire on my position!"

That voice, Selpha immediately recognized, but even as she turned to look for him she was distracted by the hissing and screaming that started to increase in volume upon their level. The Xenly, a lot more just one as Selpha saw on her display, were coming for them. Swarming in on them. They had to get going. To where she didn't know but they had to get away from those bugs.

The Mandalorian followed Romar as the other Jedi activated the door to the stairs...and thus saw what happened that caused the Jedi to suddenly fly off to the side, smacking into one of the pillars.

"Romar!" Selpha called, watching as debris rained down on the Jedi. Despite the concern, Selpha immediately turned to the stairs where she saw the glimpse of very familiar black armor just before Romar had been hit.

Cley Nephrite.

You're mine. Her elbow blade still extended, Selpha activated her other blade, causing it to sprout from the housing at her wrist with a shink. She only had seconds before she was buried like Romar had just been, so Selpha once again activated her jetpack, intending to rocket herself across the length of the collapsing level and finally come blade-to-blade with her relative. Her Iviin came up to fire a steady spray of slugs towards the other Nephrite as she came forward.

Kira Kara Romar
Museum, Former Level 33

The shot had hit her, but she would not die. That was what she realized while being thrown into the collapsing chaos of the current level. She herself had made the pillar collapse. Her impact. Even that was only a numb realization. A desperate attempt to understand. Then she realized what it was that had just happened.

The pain. She did not feel pain, nor danger. Her body healed while the wound still spread. Slowly, but steady righting the wrong in her humiliated bones. The stones dropped in impossible low speed. The world almost stopped. Screams of Xenly, buried beneath the stones . . . the sensation of pain as the Lancer on the balcony was smashed . . . the urgency to dodge the incoming stone, that had her size and dropped down from above . . . the heat of laser passing her as a gunship from outside opened the fire . . . the integrity of the walls, the shape of the hall . . . one-by-one they vanished.

This is you, Kira Romar. This is your true power.

She wanted to shake her head, but even she, herself was slower then thought possible. Everything seemed lost in the loss of speed.

And she felt anger. What was happening to her? What was the force doing to her this time? Another sacrifice? That of all that was human in her? Of all that had once been her?

A wave of her anger was send through the force, through the physical word as well . . . and this one did not lack speed. Not. At. All.

The stone from above shattered into dust and her two lightsaber whirled around as she ducked down and kicked herself of from the air. The floor above was blocked. Selpha was gone. The exit vanished. From all around her stones rained down. There was only one way left to go. Jumping, accelerated through the force, elevated through her power she jumped out of the collapsing rubble, slicing through some of the stones, while in flight, sending another wave out to redirect any objects in her away . . . she left the boundaries of the building, flying midair for a second and finally landed with a metallic sound on the dropship of the lancers. Looking up she saw the two panicking pilots, right in front of her. Smiling, exhausted but relieved . . .

Since when do you wanna life again?

. . . her two blades raised to strike down and smash the window.

Melmot
Roof of the Museum

He felt this rage, this unexplainable need to kill. And yet, once he directed against the object of his destructive desire he felt himself weaken. He did not give in to eweakness. He felt Romar nearby. All Hoole wanted was her. Melmot would probably die. But not yet. Not before he had ruined their plans. Not before he had revenge for his lonely, meaningless death he had been damned to.

"Romaaaaaar!" He screamed out and felt her jump to the dropship that was beneath him. He jumped after her. For an outsider it must have looked like madness. A man jumping of the roof of a skyscraper . . . but when he jumped of the museum, he knew exactly where he went. His blade above his head he saw Romar land on the cockpit of the ship. Raised her two lightsabers. And his own red blade, with all the power of his fall, his strength, his muscles and the darkness he could call upon came down on Kira Romar . . .

Ratep Sentarin, 124 ABY
alley, Travnin

Ratep was dumbstruck as he saw his Force push against her did nothing. He flinched when the knife flew through the air, embedding itself in the policeman's neck. Ignoring the shouts of the dead man's fleeing comrades he fixated on the female, still in a guard stance with the saber in front of him. He immediately sensed that she not going to be easy to overcome. And with his body already aching from the damage inflicted by her and the policemen, the worrying thought that he wasn't at the top of his form came to his mind.

He didn't even have time to think about her challenge when her lightning shot towards him. His surprise was written all over his face as it impacted his lightsaber. He found himself beginning to cower back from the barrage. The force he had to input into trying to keep the saber steady was enough, the burning in his chest and his sides intensifying exponentially.

What was quickly becoming too much was the fact that her lightning was using his lightsaber and body as a lightning rod. He felt the electricity painfully arcing through his body, coursing through his arms, through his chest, and down through both legs. His muscles began to spasm involuntarily. It quickly came to a point where it became too painful for him to move, like he was being electrocuted into place. He wanted to scream from the pain, but it felt like not only his mouth but his entire body was being locked into position.

What do you do?! What do you do?! Ratep never encountered anything like this before! Since when did Jedi training involve learning to protect yourself from getting hit by a Sith with lightning, never mind finding a Sith these days?!

A Sith. He found one.

In what seemed like minutes, that thought was the only comprehensible thought in his mind in the seconds where this had all transpired. And that thought immediately set off feverish activity in his mind, diving through all the reading that he had done, and he found it. What did Master Windu say in his writings? His theories on Vaapad? The abilities one could harness?

Ratep knew exactly what to do. He stopped fighting against the electricity surging through him - and he worked with it. The pain intensified, but so did his own energy. He could feel the darkness of the woman's power, and it gave him even more of a reason to kill her. A smile began to crack on the knight's face. He was going to enjoy gutting her, the Sith witch.

He began to push back against the lightning, and, remarkably, he felt that he was overcoming it. The thrill of victory, the euphoria of power began to surge through him as he felt his own strength in the Force increasing. He had created a super-conducting loop with the witch, and she was contributing to her own death whether she knew it or not.

In a final, mighty surge, Ratep grabbed hold of her lightning with his lightsaber, so that he was the one in control. He was moving his arms now, and the lightning followed. He stopped smiling at the woman. In a violent motion, he thrust his saber forward, trying to command the lightning go back to its source and destroy it.

U'tek
sewer, Pergitor

U'tek was still after Glave spoke, taking in everything he said. For the moment, he believed the man, but he still didn't feel that he could ultimately trust him. Part of him wanted to find some sort of camaraderie with the Imperial, from one special operations operative to the other, but someone that sided with the greater evil that is the Sith instead of the "true emperor" made Glave seem like an opportunist. And that was exactly what he was showing right now, stooping so low as to offering an alliance with an enemy to get what he wanted. But maybe he did want something for the better of the galaxy. Perhaps Glave wasn't so twisted, and the devastation of the insects were a wake up call for him. The cathar would keep this man close by, nevertheless. He wouldn't trust him as far as he could pounce him.

U'tek grabbed the high priest and shoved him against the wall so that he was sitting up. He crouched down beside the man and stared into his eyes as he leaned in close to his face. He didn't bare his fangs, and he didn't extend his claws. He knew the priest already got a good dose of what he was capable of, and he didn't want to scare him beyond talking. It was time to get answers.

So U'tek spoke slowly in a quiet, clear, and commanding voice. "You will tell me how you know my name. You will tell me what your church is. And you will tell me everything you know about the insects that were on a ship from your system that killed an entire star destroyer. Starting. Right. Now."

Eloa Lan, Avatar of Yun`Yarong

Above Karideph

It was too much and her god knew it. Knew she wasn´t holding together. Knew his hunger and his lust for living and flesh overwhelmed her. She had sacrificed. Twenty of her remaining fifty crew members had been scrificed. First those unloyal, then those incompetent. Finally the sacrifices were refused. And even they could her the god. The god only she was meant to hear.

"What, what do you demand?" She cried and threw her hands towards the ceiling. "Reveal. REVEAL your WILL to me!" She demanded. Hissing and the sound of stings hitting the ground was the only answer. Eloa Lan couldn´t help but imagine them to be laughter.

Lost. She was lost.

Kira Kara Romar
Karideph, On top the Dropship, outside the museum

She wanted to shatter the protective glass, when she felt it behind her. Danger. There was no time to turn or block. She had to . . . again her world went into the calmness and unbearable slowness . . . be away . . . and her muscles spasmed once and her body defied gravity and leaped forwards onto the central part of the dropship . . . before . . . her lightsaber whirling, the second blade dying and attaching itself to her belt . . . the danger was there . . . she saw Melmot crash into the glass of the cockpit, his blade shattering the protective glass of the spaceship.

"Quin?"
She yelled over the noise of wind and the collapsing building. The young man with the red blade looked up. His gaze filled with Xenly´s hatred. "Romaaar!" He hissed and his lightsaber killed the two pilots trapped in their seats.

He´ll kill you. And you deserve it. He was sacrificed too . . . you remember?

She stepped back, as the ship began to slowly rotate. Coming dangerous close to the walls of the museum tower. "Quin, I don´t want to fight you!" She yelled over the noise and wind. Even without his answer, she knew he did not care.

You should have left no one alive. They´re always coming back for revenge.

Still Darth Zorn´s voice whispering dark wisdom.

Quin Vos jumped out of the cockpit and landed right in front of her. The dropship was huge, but a relative small place for a duel.

"I have to kill you, Romar. It´s the only way. The only way!" He screamed out and his blade raised into a high stance. Hers followed.

"Quin, don´t." She just coughed out. But saw in his eyes he would attack. She wondered if her saw in hers that she would leave him no chance?

"My name is Melmot." His lightsaber stroked down.

Hespar Kessler, 124 ABY
Travnin Cantina

"Yes, indeed we needed him alive. He is a Jedi killer. We need to know who is behind it."
Hespar smiled and took the help of the man, Eydan Skorne. "You´re an Imperial Knight, are you?" He looked at the red armor. "I´m sorry, never met one of our cousins from the . . . Empire." He smiled and felt stupid, somehow. Yet, his Jedi training came back. There are no coincidences. There are no accidental patterns.
"What did you say you are doing here?" He asked the man and looked down on his Attacker. He owndered if he could risk interrogating the man in the presence of the Knight of the Empire. Skorne had saved him after all.

Where was his Master, actually?

GM-Note:

Last update for a few days comes tomorrow. I´ll leave your scene in Draco´s able hands, you Lombardis. As it came up twice, lately. We are in a direct approach to the finale. Even if the game will go on a little after the direct finale, we will soon get into the climax. Therefore . . . new characters make no sense anymore. If anybody has idea´s . . . and I know out there are some . . . we´ll have to postpone them for the more than likely sequel.

The witch was thrown back, as her own lightning was send back to her. Screaming in pain, but immediately rolling out of the barrage and leaping to her feet. Obviously weakened. Though the smile returned.
"There is darkness in you, Sentarin. Hide it as deep as you want, there is a lot darkness in you. That is why you´ll never defeat darkness." She hissed and her lance whirled. "Looks like we are going to do this the old fashioned way, hm? Duel. And only if you wondered . . . your apprentice gets killed as we speak." She laughed out.

And charged towards him, the charged force-pike in both hands. Screaming a primal yell of anger.

Skorne smiled at the young man. Courage. Hespar Kessler surely had courage. "Well, we´re fewer than your order. But yes, I am a Knight of the Empire. And concerning what I am doing here . . . same thing as you do. As you may know this is imperial space. We don´t tolerate someone hunting our cousins within´our own borders." Skorne said and went to his knees before the wounded Darksider.

"We know behind them is a man called the Vulture. He has hired them." He said and sighed. Looking to the dead Jovan still burning a little and not lying far away. "And it looks like the cover of our source has pretty much . . . blown. They are three. I wonder where is Master and his apprentice are." He sighed and looked at Hespar. "And you haven´t answered me, where to find your Master, boy. I must hunt the rest of them down. So, I would be in a hurry to hand you over to him, again." He smiled.

"So?" He asked and the medical droid withdrew, his probes vanishing from Hooles body one by one. ´The Dark Jedi reattached his robes. "For a man of your age and race you are in a tremendous shape, Master." The Droid replied. Hoole gasped. For a man of his species and age it was amazing to be alive. He did not lecture on the power of the Dark Side and what it had done for him.

"Cut it." He hissed and the droid nodded. "Yet, you have a high rate of stress. Your system seems to be under constant pressure from great effort. Something no usual body could take more than a year. Yet, yours has suffered it for over a century. As long as I have been in your service, Master." Hoole nodded. Xenly. He was constantly gnawing at him. Hoole had so far kept him at bay. But such battles had their price. No matter how glorious the victory was. The Droid continued. "As a result from that your heart has taken considerable damage. As have your veins, nerves and internal organs." Xenly had finally way to kill him. By keep on trying. Pressing himself from the stretcher and reattaching his lightsaber to the armor at his leg he looked up at the droid. "How long?" He asked and took his armor. He felt the pain in his right arm again and set it down. A droid came immediately to his help. He ignored it. "I cannot possibly say, Master. Any medical analysis must consider the fact I am talking to you an impossibility, Sir." The droid answered. Hoole nodded.

Soon. A decade perhaps. Two at best. If he could make Xenly calm down.

"Erase all data of this diagnosis and go to standby." Hoole ordered, his armor now attached. The took his long black leather coat and left the med-bay.

Death. It had finally catched up with him. Considering the many people he had killed and who had tried to kill him dying of old age was a bitter irony.

Somehow he had always expected it would be Asaja Morine. Even after her dead, he had almost waited for her to succeed to hunt him down. But Asaja Morine was dead. As was Caleb Brand, Zeol Zern and Veylon. Siri Romar. They were all dead. he had killed most of them. But such victories had always had their price. He knew to well. Ignoring the pain of his bones he returned to the command post of the Asteroid. Soon they would come. He and his children had to prepare.

Outside the viewscreen the Battle of Arkania is still raging. The Republic Forces surrounding his troops. It doesn´t matter. He has defeated Asaja Morine and once his Meditation strengthened his side Brandl and his soldiers will be lost. It is 66 years before Yavin´s great day has come and his coup to take Arkania has almost succeeded.

Before him, on the floor lies Asaja Morine. exhausted, like he is himself. Her breast has a smoking hole, where his lightsaber has pierced through her chest. Her lightsaber lies on the floor a few meters away. And everywhere his officers hurl back to their positions to guide the Battleship out of the thick of the battle. "You have lost, Morine. I win. You loose. And all your Jedi could do is watch!" He hisses and his red blade points to her throat.
"Sir, the King of Arkania says our troops are no longer under control. They attack friends and enemies alike." His second-in-command Levori shouts. Hoole looks at him, then returns to his victim. How could the man disturb his moment of victory.
"You lost control of him, Hoole. you know it. You have seen what they did on board the Republica. They have eaten the crew. Feed on them!" Hoole stared at her. "SHUT UP!" He yelled. But Asaja Morine did not shut up.
"They aren´t soldiers anymore. The Xenly are beasts. Animals. Creatures of Darkness, Hoole. Stop them. Call them back as long as you still can!" She pleaded to him. He looked at his second-in-command. "The King has ordered to open fire on them, Sir. He has surrendered to the Republic and requested the Jedi´s help." Turning his head again, Hoole´s eyes, obsidian black as always, burned with hatred.
"You won´t take my victory from me, Asaja!" He hissed. "You did that yourself. You cannot win. All your dark army can do is destroy." The elder Jedi woman slowly raised. "Stop them, Hoole."
"Never. Xenly won´t be stopped. Never!" He yelled out. He swung his blade and Asaja Morine dived his blow, calling her lightsaber to her hand. It did not reach her, as he had already brought his blade around and stabbed it into her heart. The moment he felt her die he also felt her peace. Her last thought was . . . victory. And then an urgent, raging feel of danger breached through his mind into his soul. turning around, he saw the Y-Wing coming right for the bridge. Firing both torpedoes. The world grew slow, as Hoole turned and ran towards the turbolift. Leaping into the empty shaft, as the viewscreen was shattered by the explosion.

He barely survived that day. After Asaja Morine´s death, though, it was never the same game.

For a long time he had truly missed his nemesis.

He still thought a lot about her. Even more since another Romar had appeared. Kira.

Soon enough. Soon enough.

Karideph
Sewer

"You will tell me how you know my name. You will tell me what your church is. And you will tell me everything you know about the insects that were on a ship from your system that killed an entire star destroyer. Starting. Right. Now." U´tek demanded. And Glave stepped behind him, his eyes piercing the High Priest from above.

"What my Church is? It is the wy. The only true way! We have fought the Jedi and Sith you two are slaves two for three hundred years! And finally, we will WIN!" He spitted at U´tek. Then leaned back in the tight grip of the Cathar. "And you´re aksing the wrong questions, soldier. All the wrong questions." He laughed a bit. "I can tell you how we know about you U´tek. Or about Romar. Or Talia and her husband. The Vulture? This pal so eager to stop us? He has a loyality problem among his men. Even his right hand man had a price. One not considerably high I must admit." Lornok laughed even louder. "And the insects? We put them there. A test. And not only on the Ascendancy. We did it again. Three more of these ships and a HSS station. Above Karideph. Worked even better second time. And you know what? That was only the beginning. Soo, these insects? They are the answer. To our prays!" He spitted again, fighting desperately against the grip.
"Slaves! Only slaves!" He shouted.

Streets

The bleak veil over the word suddenly vanished. The WHY in Tenk´s head began to become a whisper. But he never realized it vanishing, as instead of streets and Cole and Trak and all the others . . . a soldiers of the Church stood in front of him. His gun pointed at Tenk Qatar´s head. Another two flanked him. "He returns!" "Dammit!" "Fire!"

The last thing Tenk felt was, that his consciousness faded. They hadn´t killed him. Their blasters were set to stun.

Then darkness

Pergitor
Level 34

Selpha Nephrite leaped up, her rocket-pack carrying her towards her enemy, as the whole level collapsed above her. Cley Nephrite fired twice and missed and the elder Mandalorian dived behind the wall. Selpha´s bullets simple shot through it. Then she was there, her blade ready and he on his knees. She must had hit him, at least once. He hissed through his helmet. "Foolish child!" He gasped as her attack came and two blades, the length of short swords, snapped from his wrists. He blocked her attack and kicked her a meter way.

"I don´t want to have my families blood on my hands!" He shouted out and his blades whirled nevertheless, as he neared for his own attack.

His moves showed an effortless confidence of someone who was used to fighting. His body showed the cold dedication of a mandalorian warrior.

The Vulture had not lied. He was good.

Ascendancy
Command Center

The moment Lorj entered he saw that not all was well with their command. Nirooth Vayland, the former leader of Black Squadron and now the Captain of the Ascendancy was obviously concerned and Major Tahnan was pale and exhausted. He looked actually worse then he had in his coma. What Lorj saw was a man dying. Not matter how slow.

"Colonel, come in." The voice was firm and steady, but nothing of the former edge remained in it. "We got new. After all. As you know these insects we code-named Xenly . . . they have attacked Karideph. Destroyed the fleet above it, three ships of the same construction as this one and taken the planet. Our scouts say they killed pretty much 9 billion people in the last days." He coughed. "What we learned is that htese guys . . ." He waved his hand and a hologram of Black Lance troops appeared. " . . . seem to be their allies." Another wave of coughs. Then he looked to Vayland. The Nagai nodded and took over. "These soldiers, marked as Black Lance troops, a well known private funded army, has taken the HSS, the Hyperdrive Supression Station above Karideph. Trapping everyone inside, until further notice. They have also spread the Xenly. They seem to be behind all this. And it seems as if this is only part of a bigger operation directed against both us and the Empire." Tahnan coughed again and raised his voice.

"It comes down to this. Do we attack Karideph? With 20 thousands civilian ships around and destroy the HSS to make our run. Or do we locate the nest of these insects and make sure nobody, especially not the Empire, uses them ever again. Imagine Krayt having them." He sighed. "We decided we have run enough. Time to turn and face the enemy. The tactical challenge right now is therefore . . . were to find him? They have hidden. No words from our recon-runs, no word from the Qatar´s from Pergitor, so far. But we found Romar. She killed a hundred of these guys on Travnin. And now she is . . . on Karideph. We have reason to believe she knows where the enemy is hiding. And we could use her advice. You will get her back." Tahnan said. His friendship to Kira Romar was well known in the fleet. As was his blind trust in the young Jedi.

Vayland ended the briefing. "A Madine-Class shuttle and Commander Keean and his Iktochi commandos are awaiting you in the hangar, Colonel. Get us Romar and return here, immediately." Vayland added. "Questions?"

Lorj Danathin
-Ascendancy

"No Sir." The salute was hard and fast, then Lorj turned and made his way back to his room. He turned on his direct link to Commander Keanne while he gathered the weapons he would bring.

"Commander...Karideph...For Romar"

"I have been told, sir. Seems like we're chasing Jedi and running from Sith these days."

"Yes...Not this time...Expect fight."

"Yes sir."

He had collected is disruptor pistol, a vibroblade, and his rifle. These were the tools of his trade and had served him well, especially in the fight with the xenly. In a few minutes, he was aboard the Madine Shuttle with the troops and was checking his rifle. They were off within a minute and headin towards Karideph. There was no mental preparation. The mission was simple: Retrieve Jedi Romar.
