IC: John Conner, William Fincher
Skynet base

As the team stepped up on the glowing platform one by one, Conner gave them one last look. "You're brave soldiers, and it was a pleasure to have you all at my side." He paused. "Be careful out there. And good luck." He moved back toward the computer console.

Finch nodded at him. "For the Resistance."

Conner keyed in some commands and threw the switch.

A bright, glowing ball started to grow over the platform, and then it disappeared, leaving nothing but the platform.

His team was gone, never to be seen again. "Good luck," Conner said to himself as he exited the room.

- - -
As soon as the glowing sphere engulfed them, it disappeared. Finch suddenly felt very woozy and his entire body ached. Dropping to his knees, he grimaced from the pain. He had no idea it would hurt that much.

He opened his eyes to see his machine gun laying in sand. His machine gun? He was still fully clothed! Apparently the Terminators upgraded their transporters.

Finch grabbed his weapon and got to his feet. "Everybody okay? Still with us?" Scanning the area, all he saw was sand as far as the eye could see. It was a desert. Terrific...

IC: Bartender, drunken twi'lek
cantina - Tatooine

Just as the lightsaber started floating, the twi'lek felt his body go numb.

“You will tell us all that we ask.” the Jedi said to the twi'lek. But the twi'lek just fell forward off the stool, flat on his face. He was out cold.

"Damn riff raff..." the bartender muttered. He nodded to a muscular human by the door. The human came and dragged the twi'lek outside.

The bartender listened to the three strange men bicker about Jedi ways. "Alright, alright." He spread his arms out, trying to stop the men from talking. "The farmers name was Ignacio. Can't remember his first name. He had a wife and a couple of kids. The farm is north of here. You can reach it in about 30 minutes by landspeeder. But I'm tellin' ya, it was nothing but a malfunctioning droid."

The bartender began wiping down the counter, still watching the three men.

IC: Teek'ra Eda

Teek'ra finished his blue milk, put the glass on the counter, and sat a two twenty credit chips next to it, “Blessed be the Barkeep, for he refill thy drink, and bestow upon you wisdom of sages wise.” A silly statement, for sure, as the Barkeep was normally the last source you went to for information. But they had honestly annoyed this man to the point that he'd tell them what they wanted to know just to get them to stop or leave. So Teek'ra thought he owed the man for that.

Slipping off the stool the freelancer Echani made his way to the door of the Cantina. “Lets try and not break our necks to get to the farm in a race ok?” He called back to the man with the Wardog. He honestly didn't care if the guy rushed to get there first, competition was entertaining, he just didn't want the guy to think he had to do something stupid and get hurt. That would leave a bad taste in his mouth.

Stepping outside he was greeted by the over bearing heat of two suns, and the annoying feeling of sand, under his feet. “Once I get done here I think I'll take a pilgrimage to Eshan.” Placing his hands in his pockets Teek marched himself over towards the space port, there was a rouge droid, and if it was capable of taking out a whole family, even farmers, he wanted to have something with more kick than a pistol.

The space port, was one of the more well kept areas of the town, well kept being a loose term. Wasn't much going on today it seems, as there was only a handful of people for him to pass on his way to where his Headhunter sat. The fighter stuck out, as it was painted in a very traditional sense for his clan, in an almost reflective ivory paint. And to his annoyance the sand had begun wearing at the paint, he'd have to get it repainted soon, more credits. Joy.

Now annoyed even more with this armpit of a planet Teek flipped open the access panel and keyed in his code, opening the small storage compartment on the ship, revealing his rifle, and quite a some spare clips for it. Grabbing the guns carrying bag he put the weapon and its magazines into it, and one box of spare ammo, he had plenty, but he doubted, and hoped, he wouldn't need it.

Confident he'd be able to take anything this planet could throw at him short of a Krayt Dragon he slung the bag over his shoulder, shut the compartment and turned the security system back on. “Now for a speeder...” Sighing Teek made his way towards that speeder shop, Spaceport Speeders, cursing that his Headhunter couldn't be used as his transportation right now. And somewhat regretting that he hadn't taken his clans offer for an Eda-class Skiff. At least then he could carry his own speeder.

These whatifs and annoyances played back and forth in his head as he made the trek to the ship, hoping they rented speeders at decent prices. An unlikely prospect on this planet but one could hope. Walking up to the collection of speeders and parts, and junk the Echani looked around. “Hey, anybody 'round here? Looking to Rent a speeder.”

IC: Kibeena Lite, Kiffar jedi knight.
Location: A Tatooine cantina

The Kiffar thanked the man and tossed some coins onto the counter. “For your trouble.”

I could have sworn you Jedi had some sorta rule about using the Force unnecessarily and all that Jazz? And what about that horribly unbalanced excuse for a weapon, innit against your rules and regulations to just float it around like that hmm? Innit your Jedi mantra like ours eh? That weapon's your life ain't it? You ain't supposed to let it just float there, you're supposed to protect it. I've half a mind to take it from ya since you're so intent on letting it float free like that.

While he ignored the spacer and the wolf, and pulled his comlink from his belt, Kibeena regarded the silver-eyed humanoid who had criticised his actions.

He had not sensed it before, for some reason, but the Force was... present in this one.

The humanoid mumbled a prayer or something to the bartender, passed over about the same amount as Lite had tipped, and headed out.
The jedi sniffed derisively at the four glasses left behind the departed patron, and realised why he had not earlier sensed that the being was Sensitive.

He looked closely at the settings on his comlink. Yes, he had her comm ID programmed . He set the auto-dial, waited for her to answer, and lifted the short white cylinder to his lips: “Ewlla?”

Jovus! Could you be any louder?!

The jedi recognised the young woman’s voice, and smiled, his heart lifted slightly at the sound of it, because it meant she was still alive. He visualised her slim form; serious face adorned only by glossy lipstick; and the bun of dark unruly hair that complemented her navy blue Judicial Forces uniform. “Listen very carefully;” he warned with as much seriousness as he could convey, “you could be in grave danger out there.”

Get away. Really?

The jedi frowned, ignoring the others. It began to dawn on him that she might already be aware of this.”

Something blared from the speaker, drowning her out, like the mating call of some pre-historic sea monster; so loud, his comlink speaker almost couldn’t handle it!

It went dead.

“Stang." He shook the comlink, as if that would help, and brought it up again. "If you can hear me, Ewlla, I am coming for you!” The knight physically snatched his lightsabre hilt out of the air over the sprawled twi’lek, and with both it and the comlink in his fists, bolted for the doorway's rectangular glare, his ropey dreadlocks catching the dusty light as he ducked out.

“You!” He could be heard to shout. “I have need of your swoop.”

Huh? Oh, fifty creds for the day. Two hundred for the week.

IC: Korr
Cantina – Mos Eisley – Tatooine

“He had a wife and a couple of kids.”

Out of everything the barkeeper told them, those were the words that stuck to Korr.

He ignored the bounty hunter’s parting words about a possible race, because that’s when the Jedi started an agitated conversation with someone through his comlink, ending in him racing off as well. The onesided part he'd heard of that conversation hadn't sounded too good.

Korr went back to the bar and put down his still full glass. He closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose.

His instincts were kicking in. Something was out there, he could feel it. Something other than the normal dangers of Tatooine, like the sandpeople or the devastating sandstorms.

Wolf gave him a playful nudge with his head that nearly knocked Korr over, bringing him back to the here and now.

“Yeah, you’re right, time for us to leave as well.”

He threw the liquor to the back of his throat, put the payment on the bar and stepped out of the relative cool into Tatooine’s sweltering heat. Once outside he opened his comlink.

“Beenine? That speeder I’ve rented, is it still parked where I left it? Don’t start complaining now, you know I don’t understand half of what you say anyway. Just leave those repairs for later, right now I want you to get as many containers of water as you can in that speeder.”

It was something he would never get used to, this having to think about water all the time, no matter what you planned.

“And don’t let the hangar people give you any trouble when you stock it, I’ve paid a week's worth of rent for the thing,” he continued. “Oh, and throw in some ration bars and cans of dog food as well.” Weapons he would handle himself.

He was about to shut down the link when he hesitated. If it was a rogue droid out there, or someone using droids, maybe other technology, a R2 unit was about the best thing you could have by your side.

“Beenine, you’re coming too.”

He quickly shut his com on the shrill beeps and whistles that answered his last order. Beside him Wolf let out a whuff.

"I don't see what's so amusing," Korr told the huge beast. "I think once we're deeper in the desert, you're going to agree with Beenine that you'd be better off back in the ship."

But he knew that even on this dismal planet Wolf would never agree to being left behind.

Name: Kharzanredtry DeShaadda (Kharz)
Birth Year: 57 BBY
Species: Squib
Homeworld: Skorr 2
Profession: Oppurtunist for hire
Affiliation: None
Physical Build;
-Height: 1.4 meters
-Weight: 59 lbs
-Description: Kharz has a decent build for a squib who wastes his time repairing ships, bickering with his brother, and piloting.
Appearance;
-Head: Unlike his future son, or brother’s side, Kharz has a dull green fur colour and lemon yellow eyes. His ears are darker green and he has grease stains all over.
-Abdomen: Wearing little more than a belt crossing his chest, Kharz has a bare upper body, and finds most of his tools and weapons on it.
-Arms: Kharz’s hands are both cybernetic, and his arms are covered in work related scars.
-Legs: Kharz wears short pants that go slightly past his knees, and wears no footwear whatsoever. His pants are full of pockets, and therefore a large collaboration of objects can be found within.
Weapons: stolen DL-44 prototype, and an SE-14
Skills/Capabilities (includes force): Ship repairs/modifications, relatively decent marksman, excellent pilot and batterer.
Personality: Kharz has a strong sibling rivalry with his jedi brother, and is hot headed, figuring whatever he does is best, and that his ship is superior to all others of similar size.
History: Kharz was born and raised on Skorr 2, remembering when his little brother was taken to coruscant to train as a jedi. He loathed his brother for this, as he had no force potential, and found himself becoming one of the most skilled mechanics in the galaxy.
Ship; Nova Blast (Extensively upgraded YT-1250 freighter)

IC ~ Kharz

Kharz had been listening to what was going on from a distance for a while now. He didn't like that there was a dead farming family due to what was reported to be a malfunctioning droid. No malfunctioning droid would be able to slaughter an entire family without a weapon, there were almost none being built these days that would work on a moisture farm with enough strength to brutally murder four beings. And if a weapon had been used, that showed how irresponsible the family was in keeping weapons hidden from droids. Kharz sighed softly as he excused himself from the bar, he hadn't actually drank anything he had purchased, only drinking from his own bottle, and wishing to hear local rumours.

As Kharz arrived at the landing pad behind his shop he found an old speeder that he had been working on, having enhanced all movement systems, weapons and even adding a small shield generator, one relatively large enough to be used on a starfighter. The twin suns were still blazing over the the surface, and Khaez had ensured that there was an envioromental system appropriate heat or cool the speeder. Arming himself with a portable EMP launcher, an ion stun gun, and his DL-44, Kharz got into his speeder. Coming to the front of his property, Kharz remembered that it might be best to have an R series droid, and clicked a button.

"R-3, get over here, I'm going to need you!" Kharz shouted, only to get a rusty sounding whistle in response, and see that his somewhat modified astromech was rolling happily towards the speeder. Opening the rear entrance, Kharz guided the droid in, and closed the hatch promptly.

"R-3, we're going to be investigating a farm that had been attacked. It is believed that the owners of the farm were slaughtered by a rouge droid,, and therefore I want you to be on your gaurd." Kharz says to the droid as he speeds off, ensuring he desn't hit anyone. Probably going to be seeing alot o'those guys at the bar when or after I arrive. Everyones always interested in a bounty, I'm not though, I want the droid, see what's wrong with it, fix it, and maybe sell it. Good profit, as long as I get to it first, and ensure that this rumour is true...

“Hey, anybody 'round here? Looking to Rent a speeder.”

A Rodian stuck his head out from around the corner. It was a customer! He headed out toward the front of the shop.

"Hello, hello! Come in! I'm Happy Hondo. I run this little shop here." He waved his arm out toward the line of used speeders. "Did I hear, you wanted to rent one of these beauties?"

Michelle Thornton felt her stomach churn. That jump through time and space was pretty jarring.

"You okay, there?" Paul Dunlop asked, helping her to her feet.

"I'm good, I'm good." Her legs seemed a bit wobbly, but she managed to stand on her own. "I'll be fine, thanks." She forced a smile toward the balding Dunlop.

He was at least in his late fifties, if not sixty. The hair on top of his head was very thin, and he had the grey `horseshoe` style haircut. They had only been in this desert for a couple minutes, and already he could feel his bald head getting sunburned.

Michelle took a deep breath, trying to calm her stomach. But it didn't help. She seemed to breathe in small granules of sand that were blowing in the air.

"Uh, guys?" Eddie Miyano, the young Japanese man, was squinting up in the sky. "Am I seeing what I think I'm seeing...?"

Fincher, the team leader, looked upward. "What in the...?" He was looking at what appeared to be two suns. How could that be possible? "Okay... So, I guess we're not in our solar system."

Michelle felt her stomach turn again.

Teek's eyes moved over the line of speeders, honestly they didn't all look bad, but that didn't mean they weren't. “Yeah. Rent, not planing on staying on this planet, got no way to take it with me.” He looked at the Rodian, “What I am planing on is a small expedition into the desert, need a speeder thats both reliable and can carry a decent amount of supplies.” He walked over towards the Rodian, eying him. This sorta bunch were known for being deceitful about the things they sold, so Teek thought he'd level the playing field a bit.

“I know a bit about Speeders, not much though, just done some research in regards to this expedition, so I was hoping you'd have a Myyu Landspeeder. I'd be willing to pay well to rent it for, oh a week, if I need it longer I'll know where to contact ya.” he paused for a moment, thinking. “It'd be most helpful, And I'd certainly tell anyone I know who's coming out by these parts to come to you for their speeder needs. And in my line of work, you get to know people.”

IC: Korr
Ship hangar - Mos Eisley - Tatooine

When Korr entered the round, open hangar that held his ship, Beenine was harassing a labor droid into putting a big water container in the speeder he had rented earlier. He saw more containers were already stowed inside the open-air vehicle. Wolf sniffed at one of them and made a mournful sound.

"Stop complaining. You still fit and I already know who'll be the first to moan for water or food. If you don't like it, just stay here and I can swap this ugly thing for a decent swoop bike."

Korr eyed the ugly family speeder with disgust. It wasn't much more than a rectangular box, with a separate pilot seat in front, the only part with a window shield. At times during his journey to Jabba's stronghold that morning he'd been sure all that held it together was the rust. But it had been the only speeder he'd been able to find that was big enough to hold Wolf.

He missed racing around on a swoop bike, blast it.

Wolf made a whiney sound and he sighed. "Of course I won't leave you behind. I know you'd be stupid enough to try and follow anyway." He gave the wardog a brief scratch behind his ears, before hurrying inside his ship. Afternoon was well on its way and he wanted to reach the homestead with enough hours of light left to get a good look around.

He had a wife and a couple of kids….

It made him almost wish it was a rogue droid who’d attacked out there, because there were worse faiths than being killed, much worse. Like being taken prisoner by the Sandpeople. Or slavers.

Korr’s jaw tightened at the thought. If he saw any signs that the family had been dragged off, he had every intention of following them, even if there wasn’t any money in it.

He slung his blaster carbine over his back, made sure he had extra extra ammo for his slugthrower and, after a brief hesitation, also took a small box out with thermal detonators. He looked at it and hesitated again, but the ugly speeder he was saddled with had no weapons of its own whatsoever. He tucked the box under his arm and hurried outside. Wolf was already in the speeder, taking up almost all the space.

“Beenine, lock the ship and make sure security is on. Then hop in.”

The droid beeped.

“You’re coming because we might be after a rogue droid and that’s more your expertise than mine.”

The droid beeped again.

“Of course you’ll fit. Wolf can shove over.”

Ten minutes later he had left Mos Eisley and was on his way north, blithely ignoring the complaints coming from behind him in growls and more beeps.

"You're right, Sparrow," Fincher said. "I'm already dying in this heat."

Michelle pulled out a pair of binoculars. She brushed the loose strands of hair out of her face, and looked through the binoculars. Her blond hair was pulled back in a ponytail, but there was always those few strands that never stayed put.

"Anything, Michelle?" Finch asked.

"Nothing yet." She turned a little. She was seeing nothing but sand dunes. "Nothing..." She turned again. "Bingo. Got something." She tried to zoom in, but the binoculars wouldn't zoom any further. Lowering the binoculars, "All I see is a dark brown shape over that way." She pointed. "Can't tell what it is, but it's gotta be at least a couple miles away."

"Since it's all we've got, let's head that way," Finch ordered.

The Echani grinned and placed a hand on the front window of the speeders cab. “Ah, good ol' Mikaru design works. The Corporation designs something they design it to last.” He had to give it to the Merchant, he actually doubted he'd have a Myyu, though not as much as he doubted the speeder had once been used by Jabba. And the price, the price was a steal, unless someone had thoroughly kriffed the speeder up the guy could easily have rented it for twice that. “Hundred credits eh? I'll toss in an extra twenty if you can tell me where I can stop and get some good supplies for my little trip. Gonna need water, and rations.” And come to think of it It might be a good idea to go back and get my Other ammo too...

Kharz checked his binoculars, finding himself stopped about twenty minutes into the trip. He could see the dark outline of the farmm in the distance, but something else caught his eye. It was the glint of some sort of binoculars, and near them was a number of figures. By what Kharz could judge, they were human, but the fact that they were using lense based binoculars confused Kharz, and he chose to hit the accel, propelling his speeder towards the group of people.

Teek handed the Rodian the proper credits and nodded to him, “Aye, thanks, see ya back in a week to return this thing.” Teek climbed into the cab of the speeder and started it up. It strained to start for a moment, but true to its makers, started up and purred, as much as a speeder could purred like a Spukamas. The cab on the other hand had a faint copper smell, it twinged at his nose, but it was livable. Setting his bag down on the front passenger seat, Teek eased the speeder forward out of the lot and into the main road and headed off towards the hanger bay first.

As he had the speeder now he was gonna take all the stuff he might need. It was a quick matter, grabbing his other ammo, and grabbed his datapad. Not having a droid for a fighter was one thing, as you could buy a nav computer. Go without one in the desert, you better have a decent datapad. Otherwise you might find yourself in dire need of one.

Setting everything in his bag, and the datapad in his pocket, he sat down in the drivers seat and drove off down the road, looking out for some shop with Jarkko, Supplies, or something similar on the sign. 'Just down the way' was a bit longer than he thought but it wasn't that much of an annoyance. Sliding out of the cab Teek'ra walked into the store and looked around. “'Ello? Looking for some supplies, 'sposed to say Hondo sent me.”

IC: Jarkko the Rodian
supply shop

The Rodian stuck his head out and looked around the corner. Ah, a customer! He hurried out toward him. This Rodian was a bit heavier than his brother Hondo. He obviously hadn't missed many meals.

"Ah, welcome, friend. Welcome." Jarkko acted almost the same way Hondo did. Their personalities were similar. They were definitely brothers. "And just for mentioning my brother's name, half off anything you buy here today." He reached out to shake hands. "Name's Jarkko. What can I do for you?"

IC: Fincher, Thornton, Dunlop, Miyano
the middle of the desert

"Whoa!" Miyano pointed out toward a small cloud of dirt. "Looks like something's coming this way."

Thornton, Dunlop and Miyano all raised their weapons.

Finch ordered, "Hold you fire. We wouldn't want to fire on some hostile alien species. We're already involved in one war, we don't need another." He gripped the handle of his machine gun. "But be ready."

They waited as the dust cloud got closer to them. Was it a vehicle? Some new Terminator? Finch swallowed hard, not sure of what to expect on this new planet...
