Kalak-Mure
Possibly his least favorite part of the galaxy...

Mure had just placed his saber at his hip when the humming began. He spun about quickly, and with a flick of his wrists, the hidden blades in his armor came out, fully extended. They shone blue as the vibration started with a pulse. Dropping to a basic defensive combat stance, he saw that a large rectangle of light was pulsing in the back of the room. He blinked, and then there was a block of carbonite with a well preserved man inside.

The control panel on the side of the encasement shorted-out, and the carbonite melted quickly. The younger Jedi, Jaden, rushed to the man`s side, and checked for life signs. The man was alive. Hopefully nothing else decided to materialize in the cell.

"We need to get out of here, before someone appears who is not so friendly. I don´t think the guy there hung himself up like this. Mure, the walls are of metal. Can you try to melt them with your saber?"

Kalak simply nodded, still caught at unawares. With another flick of his wrists, the blades disappeared back into the armor, and Mure drew his lightsaber, not yet igniting it.

He walked up to the wall that the other Jedi, the one with the blaster rifle, had pointed towards and tapped against it. It gave a nice hollow sound, and that was a very good sign. He switched on his lightsaber, and the familiar sound and feel was back. It comforted Mure, to know his weapon was still in working order, unlike the Jedi with the blaster rifle.

The red blade sliced into the metal with a bit of effort, and Mure was able to cut a four foot by six foot opening without much trouble. He left the smallest attachment at the bottom, and gave the new exit a solid kick. The wall gave a little bit, just as the other Jedi asked if it was working.

"Just fine, Blaster, we'll be out in a minute."

With one more solid kick the small piece of uncut metal gave way and the new door crashed into the hallway. It made a lot of noise, and Mure drew away from the hole instantly, almost disappearing into the dark corner. As the light from his saber turned off, he became almost invisible. He drew the hilt of his saber up to a striking stance, and waited to see if anything would respond to the noise.

Hopefully not.

Update
Room of Darkness

Almost immediately after Meru started cutting, a strange smell wafted from the opening. It was a combination of meat left out in the sun too long, and over ripe fruit that had split open. When Meru kicked the cut metal piece free, the ring of metal on metal reverberated through the air. It seemed as if the room itself trembled with rage. In the darkness nothing stirred, only the sickly smell emanated from the darkness.

With a vicious groan, the dead armored man, -the one that Kyle had appropriated the blaster from- twitched. His arm snapped up from his body at inhuman speeds, at an angle that would cause considerable pain to anyone else. With frightening speed the rest of the man was up right. One shoulder looked dislocated (though any indication that it bothered him or even hindered him could not be found), and his head was held at an oblique angle. His eyes were glazed over with the look of death, and stared into nothing. His shredded lips were peeled back over cracked teeth. Black veins spider-webbed from the wounds in his face.

At the same time, to those who could feel it, the Force... changed. It was almost like a curtain of vileness had covered it. Like a film of rancid oil on top of pure water, and one would have to reach through the taint before they could pull a cup of that water to them.

The armored man snarled as he lurched towards the nearest person, Kyle. It moved with the opposite of grace, all stiff and right angles, but with no less sureness and speed. The gloves that encased his hands bulged at the fingertips, and three-inch black claws burst forth. The claws looked razor sharp and they dripped a viscous liquid.

The armored man lunged at his target bringing his hands in to rake and maim.

Kyle Katarn
Chamber

The man obviously knew as little about their currentlocation as those not forzen in carbonite. "Don´t know how long you´ve been in there, but yeah . . . we´re stuck in a chamber and the door is locked. So I think it is pretty save to assume we are . . ." He never ended his sentence, as he heard the sound of bones being forced into place from behind. Something changed in hte force. He pulled his brows together, trying ot make it out. He was supposed to be a Jedi Master at least . . . but he found something else more pressing asking for his attention in the living energyfield. Danger coming from behind. Growing fast. Slowly he turned his head and saw the creature charge towards him. It was the bonty hunter, or something resembling it. The claws came nearer, as he spitted out a single word: "Crap!"

And rolled himself to the side, to avoid any contact with it and it´s yet unknown fluid at all. While in air he was firing the blaster rifle at the creature´s legs. "Attack!" He yelled more out of routine. It was pretty safe to assume the iother had not missed it.

Kalak-Mure
Dark Room

The foul smell wafted into the room as the steel wall hit the floor outside the room with a crash. The moaning coming from the dead soldier sounded almost inhuman. Kalak had been watching the opening, and ignoring the dead man. As he turned he heard a blaster rifle firing, and saw the blaster Jedi doing a combat dive and firing at the soldiers legs.

The soldier was upright, and very hostile. Mure didn't waist anytime, this zombie needed to be stopped before the blinded one was hurt. He reached out for the zombie's ankle and pulled hard, hoping to pull the legs out from under him. Yet for all of his concentration, he was wholly unable to get a firm grasp.

Yet he accomplished giving away his hidden position.

"Sith's blood!" Kalak cursed loudly, as he lifted his hands, and the debris on the floor with it. Then he attempted to accelerate it towards the dead one, but he could not get it to a speed that would puncture the armor.

Something was very wrong. The force was distant, or hidden it seemed. It was as though there was a wall in between Kalak and the force, and for all his attempts, he could not break through it.

But now was not the time for philosophy, for the zombie was charging Kalak. It seemed unaware of the blinded one, and that was all Kalak could hope for at the moment.

The Zombie charged, yet it seemed to be dragging the ankle that Blaster had shot out. At least it could be hurt.

Kalak waited one hundredth of a second longer before igniting his saber, and spinning left, raising his saber to cut the had that was slashing at him. The claws scraped across his right arm. The armor protected him from the claws.

Bringing up the red blade of his saber, he scored a wound across the soldiers wrist. The zombies armor was broken, and more of the foul gas escaped, along with the vile stench.

"SHOOT IT, SHOOT IT!!!" Kalak yelled. The dripping liquid seemed like something that shouldn't be touched, and that blaster rifle was looking more and more attractive all the time.

Turning ever so slightly to the right, Kalak used a combat roll that he learned back in his days as a young street urchin. He came up in a crouched position, facing his opponent, hoping that a few more blaster bolts would put him down.

Jaden Korr
Location: Jaden's least favourite place in the galaxy

"I know what you think. You´re right. This is bad. Real bad."

Kyle's words seemed to echo Jaden's thoughts, which did not surprise the Jedi apprentice whatsoever, since Kyle was his master and had a penchant for finishing his sentences now and again.

"Even by my standards." Kyle added, which made Jaden frown a little. He knew what that tone in Kyle's voice meant. They were in a bad position, even for jedi. But Jaden felt secure in the presence of his master, who had begun to take charge of their escape efforts by directing the Jensaarai to cut a hole in the wall. Jaden turned to the new arrival as he started to move. The young jedi was glad to see that the man formerly frozen in carbonite was doing fine. He seemed a bit anxious, which was completely understandable, given his temporary blindness and possible disorientation.

"By the sound of it I'd say we're in a relatively small room. I don't feel any fresh air flowing from a ventilation system. Are we stuck here,... presently?"

"You're pretty perceptive for someone who'd just emerged from carbonite." Jaden observed with a bit of humor. "Stuck? yeah, seems that way, but we're working on it. Presently."

Jaden knew the man could not see his clever smile, but he smiled anyway and turned at the sound of Kyle's voice and the Malak's handiwork.

"Is it working?" Kyle asked. The answer came in the form of a thump followed by loud metallic clanging beyond the wall. Immediately, a powerful stench invaded the room. Jaden wrinkled his nose reflexively and tried not to be the only one who pinched his nostrils.

"What a wonderful smell you've discovered..." He commented to no one in particular. Then the hairs on Jaden's nape stood up. A wrongness he'd never experienced before coursed through him, causing him to shiver.

With a vicious groan, the dead armored man, -the one that Kyle had appropriated the blaster from- twitched. For a second, Jaden was stunned as he witnessed the dead man do something he should not have been able to do.

Move.

As that occurred, Jaden felt nausea wash over him as he experienced an unprecedented change in the Force. It almost made him want to retch. The Force felt somehow repulsively tainted. The dead armored man snarled and lurched towards the nearest person, Kyle.

In that instant, everything seemed to happen so fast. The revenant's gauntlets produced razor sharp claws, which dripped a viscous liquid. That could not be good at all, especially coming from someone who was supposed to be dead. With impressive speed, the creature lunged at Kyle.

Close quarter combat ensued in a blink of an eye!

Kyle evaded and put his acquired blaster to good use, opting to fire at the revenant's legs in hopes of slowing it down. The Jensaarai seemed 'off' somehow as he join in the fray, but battled well enough to keep himself from being harmed by the revenant's claws. Jaden felt an overwhelming urge to assist, but first...

Jaden did not hesitate as he positioned the man from the carbonite towards the recently made opening and directed him with a firm voice.

"Crawl in that direction. Feel with your hands as you go. It's not safe here. Move!"

Jaden turned to join the fight and summoned the Force, only to feel a wave of nausea overtake him. Jaden stumbled, but quickly regained his footing as he came in with an upward lightsaber slice, which ignited at the last possible moment. The attack was aimed at the wrist Malak had injured, but should that miss, Jaden was ready to follow up with a classic force push towards a wall, that is, if the force cooperated at all.

Davin Sustra

Really, really dark room.

IC: As Davin Sustra.

"Don´t know how long you´ve been in there, but yeah . . . we´re stuck in a chamber and the door is locked. So I think it is pretty safe to assume we are . . ."

There had been a foul odor of rotten meat and rotten vegetation in the stale air just after the sound of a humming Lightsaber cutting through what seemed to sound like a thick metal wall. This was punctuated with a resounding clang as the wall or door or whatever it was hit the floor. Just as the voice from the outer rim was about to say the word "Trapped" or "stuck", there came an unsettling sound of bone and sinew grinding and crunching in interaction and then foot steps from yet another person Davin hadn't been aware of at all.

Davin felt the rush of adrenalin coursing though his veins and arteries as the fight or flight responce kicked in.

He heard outer-rim exclaim the word "Crap". Then there was movement while Bone-crunch came on then changed coarse.

Davin began deliberately to hyperventilate and oxygenate his blood.

"Attack!"

Blaster Rifle fire followed by a return of the humming sound of a Lightsaber sweeping through the air.

He heard diciplined-one exclaim aloud, "Sith's blood!". Bone-crunch changed course again and charged-or perhaps hobbled quickly was the better description-towards disciplined-one's voice.

Yes! He could feel it now! A definite tingling in his eyes was taking place as more oxygenated blood began awakening his optic nervous system!

"Shoot it! Shoot it!" he heard disciplined-one yell out.

A glimmer! Yes! Just a little more time! he desperately thought...

Update
Room of Darkness

As Kyle dived out of the revenant's way, the blaster bolts struck the creature's legs staggering it. Something seemed to draw it to Mure and the creature charged, raking its claws across cortosis armor. The Jensaarai's lightsaber swept up and connected with its wrist, injuring it. Mure rolled away and the creature again lost interest in its intended prey.

It turned towards Jaden as the apprentice attacked. The upward slice of Jaden's lightsaber severed the revenant's hand cleanly, but the creature acted like it was a minor inconvenience at best. It was about to strike with it's other hand, when Jaden's Force push slammed it backwards into the wall. It crumpled to the ground with a howl. It was the first sign that it had felt any attack.

A wave of nausea hit Jaden. To have accomplished the Force push, he had had to waded through the taint. And now it felt like it covered him in a sickly slime of corruption. It felt like his soul was drowning in filth, in a black tar of... wrongness.

It lasted only a few heartbeats before beginning to fade.

The revenant was getting back up. Steam or smoke, it was hard to tell which, wafted from between armored joints and from exposed skin. The skin itself looked mildly burned and there was a brittleness to it that was not there before. Its breastplate cracked and fell off of it in pieces. Its bare chest was pale and crisscrossed with the Black veins. Each vein could be traced back to a mass of black tissue that was over its heart and with every move of the creature it pulsed.

The severed hand lay on the floor, and twitched twice before flipping over and, using its fingers to pull itself along, inched towards the helpless Davin, leaving a trailing black blood.

Again the revenant lurched towards Jaden, who was a good twenty paces away. It was slower then it had been and it staggered more then it had before.

OOC: A note to the Force users. The taint doesn't make it difficult to use the Force, you just can't use it with out touching the taint first. Its kinda like toxic waste of the soul.

Another OOC: I remind everyone that there is no godmoding allowed!

GM Action Update

It has been brought to my attention that there is a difference between Godmoding and Auto-Hitting, and that I never said there was no auto-hitting in this game. I acknowledge this.

That being said in my mind auto-hitting was the same as godmoding.

I will ask a mod to add "No Auto-Hitting" to the rules on the first page. the above post is still to be Disregarded.

Thank you for your patience. You may resume play.

Jaden Korr
Location: Room of Darkness

The revenant sailed through the air and impacted harshly against the far wall, thanks to Jaden's Force push, but the Jedi apprentice could not appreciate his handiwork as he doubled-over and retched on the floor.

"Bleeaaarrggh"

Jaden panted, trying to catch his breath and wiped the sweat from his forehead with his hand; thankfully, he began to feel better after that.

"What.....what's happening?" he whispered to himself, but knew he could not devote time analyzing what was happening. His ears perceived the revenant getting up once again, which caused him to shake his head, but his eyes...they saw the revenant's hand 'crawling' towards the man from the carbonite.

Jaden's reaction was immediate and instinctual. He swiftly kicked the crawling hand as far away as he could, as he hoped that it would land on sparking wires and to predictable results.

"Careful when using the Force!" Jaden shouted a warning out-loud, even as he spun around to face the revenant. "Using it in this room will make you ill!" he declared, and internally hoped that he was right about that assessment, all the while suspecting that such an effect was not likely to be that localized.

Now nearly face to face with the creature, Jaden gauged his actions carefully and initiated a counter-attack only after the revenant began to strike at him. Jaden pivoted to one side in order to avoid a strike and simultaneously slashed at the creature's trailing leg with his lightsaber. He'd aimed his slash to cleanly sever the knee joint.

Coming about to a defensive stance, Jaden shouted out once again. Being trained by Kyle himself had great advantages. For example, paying attention to detail often changed the playing field in an engagement to one's favour. Jaden hoped this was true in this case.

"Kyle! shoot the chest! Blast the heart! Blast it!"

The pulsing black mass bulging in the creature's chest was quite revulsing to Jaden. It made him mentally recoil, but he did not allow those feelings to keep him from fulfilling his duty as a jedi. Though he had no idea how they came to be in this place, it was clear to him now that they were here for a specific purpose.

As ever, Light was needed to dispel Darkness.

Then so be it.

GM Approved CS

Name: Bargos Vesh/AENRA
Gender: Male
Age: Unknown, estimated mid to late 30s
Race: Duros/Internal Medical droid.
Appearance: On the outside, Bargos initially appears to be a typical male Duros. Standing a shade over 1.8 meters tall and being of the typical slender build Bargos is considered attractive by the standards of his race.
However if one looks closer, one would see that here and there he has a small scar, or that his entire body is not slender but seemingly built out of sinew and tendons, the kind one gets from racing swoop bikes at high speed. However what is most notable is that upon closer inspection his silver eyes are not natural, but instead seem to be made up of some sort of cyber-organic hexagonal grid, and that without his goggles he seems pretty much blind.
Given his status of being in induced hibernation, Bargos wears a simple flimsiplast tunic and pants as well as simple hospital shoes. However the simplicity ends at a piece of eyewear that looks like a cross between a welders glareshades and verpine ocular enhancers. These of course allow both personalities to see, see very well in fact...

Being an internal medical droid, AENRA only appears during medical scans as a small complex dome with 4 grasping feet attached to the base of Bargus' spine, although Bargus has repeatedly claimed that in his subconscious AENRA does appear to be an Aleena.
Personalities:
Bargus: Sarcastic, darkly humorous, resourceful, headstrong, occasionally seems to argue with nobody
AENRA: Calculating, inquisitive, unnecessarily cheerful
Weapons: None, although some can be improvised and/or acquired in a hurry.
Bio: Given the course of his life, Bargus Vesh by all rights should be dead by this point. Yet this Duros has proven to be a scion of fortune to some degree, even if it does not seem readily apparent.

Bargus does not remember much about his early life. Fleeting memories have hinted that he was born on Fadden, and that he went into a career that was contrary to what most of his primary and extended family had envisioned for him.
That career was as a test pilot and space racer. Given his amnesia and the lack of records on file it is not exactly clear as to what his winning record is or how many ships he tested.

What is known is after Imperial control became too tight to bear, Bargus left the Corellian Control Sector with his cousin and a few friends and made his way to the outer rim. Once there he quickly found a new career as a Swoop Bike racer, winning a staggering amount of races and even going undefeated during one season.
However, it would prove to be yet another downfall. During one race a rather unscrupulous biker cut in front of him and re-heated his exhaust. The gasses melted the control cables for the front end of the bike and consequently sent his specially prepared Air-2 swoop into a headlong spin on the ground. The final insulting and most devastating injury came when the power cells exploded and the residual radioactive fires hit his eyes.
The damage spread to his entire ocular system and severely damaged the motor control center of his brain, as well as damaging most other regions including those responsible for memory. The damage was so severe that even the periphery nervous system was damaged, rendering him unable to move anything beyond his arms and shoulders as well as severely diminishing his ability to communicate let alone see.

Set upon by doctors, the in-field medics had given up hope were it not for the fact that the physician that attended to him was himself a Duros, and a neurophysiology specialist no less. Before the Empire had come to his home he had been working on a radical new treatment for such injuries. The treatment involved the grafting of an internal medical droid to the base of his spinal cord, one that had a reservoir of nanobots that would slowly repair his damaged nervous system. The trick was that the procedure would be so painful that the only way to safely employ it would be to put Bargus into hibernation until the damage could be complete.

The droid went to work immediately, but given the extent of his damage it would take quite awhile to make most of the repairs, and there were two unforeseen results after the droid was implanted.
For the most part the droid was able to make repairs using its internal nanobot stores. While the periphery nervous system was a quick fix, the spinal cord and brain proved to be more time and resource consuming. However the most difficult part was the eyes, and in light of this the doctor provided the droid with the materials to build artificial eyes for Bargus. However, the instruction given to the droid was to improve Bargus' vision from his last recorded test, and no parameters were set.
So rather than having been given the best possible eyesight for a Duros, Bargus was given a visual spectrum that dipped into radio wavelengths and stretched into terahertz (IE near X-Ray). Given that the repairs would not be finalized and needed an ocular specialist to fine-tune them, the droid also remotely tuned the goggles Bargus would need to see when he came out of hibernation to help him cope with the new things he would be seeing.
The other side-effect had more interesting implications. While Bargus was under, his subconscious took over as his reality, and it turned out he was not alone in there. The droid, which identified itself as an Autonomous Endo-Neuro Repair Avatar or AENRA for short, appeared in a lucid dreamlike world as an Aleena which struck Bargus as an odd self representation given the fact that the new personality was in fact a droid.
While the company was welcome at first, AENRAs child-like inquisitiveness coupled with his strange droid-like demeanor eventually started to wear on Bargus. Either that or the creepy reality that whatever Bargus did or saw or experienced, AENRA monitored as well given his role as custodian of Bargus' damaged nervous system.

While it seems like only hours have passed, time has in fact marched by in years for Bargus and AENRA...

Kyle Katarn

In Hell . . .

The thing took it´s wounds pretty well. he had shot both legs. Instead of being crippled it just slowed down. And even the attack by the lightsaber and the force push from Jaden had not brought it down. It was time to apply a little more force, he decided and heard Jaden´s warning just as he was about to summon the force. Ill? What did that mean? Using the force makes one ill?

Jaden was fighting it with his blade now, so it was Kyle´s job to finish it off . . . as long as it was distracted.

Hissing out a silent curse Kyle pulled the switch of his gun to autofire and pulled himself of the ground. Whatever this was, they were in greater danger than he had thought. Someone was messing with the force, had created this thing . . . Kyle had never heard of it and by now, he assumed something like this would have come to his attention . . . and had abducted them all to this place. Someone. Someone knew very well what he was doing. And this someone was ruining the wrong Jedi´s day.

With a scream that would hopefully distract the thing Kyle leaped forward, passing the creature and sliding over the ground on his knees, as he raised the rifle and pulled the trigger. The force might have been corrupted, his lightsaber gone. But if there was one thing Kyle Katarn could do without his Jedi skills then it was kill. Aiming at the neck and head region of the thing he kept on firing. He made sure all other were out of his line of fire. The creature had a rudimentary strategy, it felt pain, it had a nervous system. Probably it needed it´s head. He kept the trigger pulled down, pressing the rifle against his shoulder and face to keep it under control. Until this thing would finally be dead. If it was alive anyway.

That had been a remarkable tough beginning of the day.

GM Update
Room of Darkness

Jaden's reaction was immediate and instinctual. He swiftly kicked the crawling hand as far away as he could, as he hoped that it would land on sparking wires and to predictable results.

No such luck.

The hand landed on a large crate near the wall, and hit it with such force that the claws sunk deeply into the crates surface. The crate trembled as high pressure gas escaped from the punctures. The hand seemed to go crazy as it tried to escape the gas. Frost started to crawl up the claws, then the fingers. The hand jerked once more before snapping every single fingertip off and falling to the floor. Black fluid oozed from its wounds as it tried to pull itself away.

The gas finally stopped, and with a sharp snap of a latch, the crate's top swung out, reveling a perfectly preserved Duros.

Jaden's slash at the revenant's knee fell short as, again the revenant changed direction and targets. It turned toward Kyle as he screamed at it. Blaster fire erupted from Kyle's weapon, chewing away at the revenant's neck. The smell of charred flesh mixed with the rotten sickly sweat smell that permeated the air.

The revnant staggered as its head was burned from it's body. It hit the decking like rotten fruit. Black liquid burst from the head, congealed, and formed six spider-like legs. It scrambled to right itself, then oriented on Jaden. Black liquid burst from its mouth and formed long pincher-like mandibles. It skittered towards Jaden, its mandibles clacking loudly.

The body still stood upright. It lumbered towards Kyle soaking up every blaster bolt Kyle fired at it. Charred wounds covered the revenant's body. A stray bolt struck the lump of black tissue and an ear piercing trill filled the room.

The head shuddered fell and was still, the hand stopped moving, the body fell to its knees then pitched forward. The trill faded, and with it so did the stench. The Taint on the Force seemed to dissipate as if the conduit that feed it had been suddenly cut.

IC: Bargus Vesh/AENRA
Location: Definitely not the medical center on Ord Cestus...

*By most standards the beach on Fadden that a Duros and an Aleena were discussing life on was gorgeous. White sand, violet skies, cobalt blue water lapping teasingly at the shoreline, even some bottles of Duros ale that were conveniently dug into a pit near them. Most beings would consider that paradise, and that conversation would be unneeded.

However conversation was taking place, mostly led by the Aleena in a curiously straightforward and loigcal fashion, and given the races' propensity to have large families and roam the galaxy, the conversation would have seemed strange to anybody listening.*

"As I understand it then, the biological purpose of the act is then to replace oneself as most beings tend to. However I do not understand performing said act for the sake of it. If it does not produce tangible results then why proceed at all?"

*The Duros couldn't have looked any more flabbergasted. It felt like this conversation had been going on for awhile and the Aleena wasn't getting the idea, though not for lack of trying. Still, he had seen people train dumber animals to do more complicated things, so maybe there was hope yet for him*

"Well, it's hard to explain, er, well you've seen pleasure centers in..."

*The Aleena held one stubby arm up and looked up at seemingly nothing*

"My apologies Mr. Vesh, but emergency waking protocols have been initiated. Delayed significantly but they are working to spec. I do wish we could continue this conversation in the future of course."

"We shall see Aenra, we shall see."

*Then everything went black, because the beach, the ales, none of it was trully real. Even the beings were facsimiles, although they were representations of two very real beings.
No, the environment and conservation had taken place in the mind of the Duros which had just been woken up from hibernation in a very strange facility. Unlike the healthy shade of blue of his skin and the copper color of his eyes, in reality the Duros was very pale, and his eyes were a brassy-finished silver, and he was dressed in a set of black flimsiplast medical scrubs and shoes.
Most telling of course was the fact that he came out of what was obviously a very advanced medical stasis chamber.
Since the chamber had been breached, no gauges came to life, but a pump was quickly activated as well as several instruments retracted. Eventually the door of the chamber flipped open, revealing its contents. At first he didn't move, but then the Duros stirred, first twitches, then slow laborus movement, becoming more and more deliberate.

Suddenly the Duros heaved to one side, pitching himself over the side of the chamber and crashing unceremoniously onto the floor, highlighted by his next trick which was emptying his stomach of its contents forcefully. The Duros took a few breaths that started off very raggedly but quickly resolved themselves to normal deep breaths. However something was not right.*

"Aenra, Aenra are you there?"
*He asked*

<<"I am still here Mr Vesh.">>
*replied the voice of the Aleena*

"Aenra, what is going on? Where are the doctors and nurses, where is everybody? Am I awake at all?"

<<"Yes you are fully conscious Mr Vesh, however it appears you are suffering from a mild case of hibernation sickness.">>

"Mild?! I can't karking see anything, how is that mild!? Weren't you supposed to repair my eyes as well?

<<"I cannot see either Mr. Vesh, for I experience only what you do. However the blindness is unrelated to your hibernation sickness. Doctors must tend to your replacement ocular imagers before you can use them alone. However there is a recourse if you follow my instruction. First reach out with one hand and find the side of the stasis chamber which you exited. Find the footrest ridge, that will be the marker where we go from.">>

*The Duros known as Mr. Vesh complied, fumbling against the side of the stasis chamber until he found the aforementioned ridge*

"Right, got it. Now what?"

<<"Run your primary digit along the ridge until you find a small indentation, then push it.">>

*Again Mr. Vesh complied, running his long thumb along the ridge until he indeed found a small impression. He had to go over it several times as the sensations were dulled somewhat from the long slumber. When he did finally push it there was a small pop and click, and a little puff of breeze indicated a small door had been opened near the indentation.*

<<"You are functioning optimally Mr. Vesh, now extract the Adaptive Surrogate Viewers from their compartment and affix them to your head. Take care not to damage them please.">>

*If it were possible for a Duros to roll their eyes, Mr Vesh would have done so. Aenra was being helpful but did not have the same bedside manner as the good doctor or his nurses, which would have helped in this case. However they weren't present at the moment and so far nobody had come to help him. Besides, he had come that far, why stop?

Mr Vesh pulled himself into a sitting position and braced himself against the stasis chamber, letting himself smile a little at the fact that he could move parts of him below his arms again. After grasping what Aenra had called the Adaptive Surrogate Viewers and pulling them into his lap, he let his fingertips tell him what they were. They certainly FELT like welders goggles, but instead of full blown glass there were two slits on them running diagonally perpendicular to each other. While he couldn't see for sure he guessed that it would give him a permanent sad look.

With exaggerated care and precision, Mr Vesh brought the goggles to his face and slid the strap over his head. After several trials he finally got the goggles situated in a comfortable way and the strap tightened to a point where the goggles would stay on but not crush his skull.*

"Okay Aenra, they're on, but they're not working, what now?"

<<"Please stand by, I have to manually activate the Adaptive Surrogate Viewers through your ocular imagers. There will be a moment of mild discomfort akin to a static discharge">>

"Alright shouldn't be to baOW SONOFA...!"

*The small spark that had been generated through his artificial eyes was definetly more than your typical static shock for normal beings, maybe something akin to static for a bull rancor. However the images that were displayed to him shortly thereafter was not what he was expecting. Instead of the standard color palate, his world became a miasma of vibrant primary colors, muted bluish hues, and ghost and after-images. Like all beings would he slowly moved his hands in front of his new eyes, trying to make sense of it all.
When he couldn't, he consulted the voice of Aenra again*

"Aenra, are these things broken? Im getting dizzy just sitting here."

<<"Certainly not Mr. Vesh. In fact your visual acuity has been significantly improved through my work. You are now seeing in several spectrums and wavelengths. You have access to visual information far beyond most humanoids now.">>

"Well I appreciate the effort Aenra but I can't make sense of a damn thing like this! Is there any way to see things the way normal Duros do? Cause it sure would help right about now!"

<<"I detect the stress patterns in your voice are related to your unfamiliarty with the composite image. I will comply, although I do not see the point of using an inferior medium.">>

*His world slowly became more coherent, although Mr Vesh almost wished it hadn't. Instead of a clean facility in the middle of a serene desert, he was greeted by a dirty and chaotic room which had most likely seen some sort of fight rather recently*

"Yeesh, somebody ought to fire whomever did the decorating in here, what happened? And my voice is working again?"

*By this point he felt strong enough to pull himself up to standing, but as he turned to do so his movements suddenly became very deliberate. They were not alone*

<<"Yes the environment is not indicative to most forms of health care, although it is not out of the question. Yes your voice is working within parameters Mr Vesh... Mr Vesh? Oh, I see..."

*Mr. Vesh was still hunched over on the stasis chamber slightly, muffling his conversation to what would appear to outsiders as himself*

"Tell me something Aenra, I've been talking, have they heard you at all?"

<<"No Mr Vesh they have not. I have no voice outside of you.">>

*The realization dawned on him that the individuals in the room by now thought he was completely nuts. Still he did his best to try and alleviate some of the confusion, giving a weak little wave and addressing them as best he could given the awkwardness of what had transpired*

"Um, greetings everyone? My name is Bargus Vesh, and I promise I am not crazy, well hopefully not anyway. I suppose this is a stupid question but this isn't the Porgo Memorial Rehabilitation Center on Ord Cestus, is it?"

IC: As Davin Sustra.

Pandimonium ensued all around him as his eye sight was returning. The Coriscantian was ordering him to a place of safety. Davin started seeing little catches here and there of movement as figures moved about at a high rate of speed and dexterity. He felt the "Happy Surprise" up his left sleeve and the telescoping Taser stick in the special holster mounted above his belt parallel to the small of his back. There came more yelling then a loud discharge of blaster fire from the sound of it, a blaster rifle on full auto. Davin dropped to the floor as he knew that it could get really crazy in such confinded places as this appeared to be. Suddenly he heard and now saw the figure both shriek and then drop like a wet rag. Just then his eyes cleared in time to see one of the figures kick something that was trying to move towards him. It looked like a human hand! But it had claws protruding out of it's finger tips! More adrenyline. This resulted in more and breathing and more oxygen. Now his sight was fully restored.

"I can see again!" he exclaimed.

He looked around and saw a high tech box which looked to be powered down. The fingered horror was impalling it with its elongated finger nails, which had caused it to remain stuck to the container. Smoke vented...no, steam?...no, cryogas. Yes cryogas was venting out of the puncture sites where the nails embedded themselves into the storage container's side. The hand had frozen then patially shattered as it struggled to move, thus breaking the nails and fingers off.

"Just what did I miss exactly?" asked Davin.

When he thought it couldn't get any stranger the container opened up. You could have heard a pin drop just then. Then it got stranger still. Then for all intents and purposes the comedy relief showed up. If it had been Palpatine rising from the dead, you couldn't have had more undivided attention being focused on the Duro that chose then to wake up from his beauty nap. Oh but there was more...after he puked and recovered, he started talking to himself...

Davin couldn't help but chuckle at the sheer absurdity of it all.
