SephyCloneNo15 posted:Avengers Assemble! IC:Uatu The Moon "The Avengers, Earth's mightiest heroes. Everyone on this Earth, number six hundred and sixteen, is well familiar with the infamous battlecry 'Avengers Assemble!', but such is not the case in all worlds. In another, very similar world, number one thousand six hundred and ten, a very similar team wages a neverending battle against evil under the name the Ultimates." The Watcher makes a gesture, like pulling aside an invisible curtain. Nothing moves. Earth is in the same place, at the same time, but there are significant changes not easily visible from our viewpoint on the moon, for this is not the same earth. "Here, once again, is a very similar world, Earth number eight hundred twelve. Eight-twelve is populated by roughly the same people as the other worlds, with slight differences. Eight-twelve was born eons ago, a divergence created when a fish on six hundred and sixteen chose whether or not to eat a particular insect. The most striking difference forged by that fish choosing to devour an insect at a specific point in time ages ago, is that here, Earth's mightiest heroes are only just now being united under the name of The Avengers." Welcome, true believers, to Avengers Assemble! As you hopefully inferred from Uatu's prelude, this game is a Marvel Universe game unlike any you've ever played before. In this game, you'll be playing Earth-812's version of the world's mightiest heroes, the Avengers. However, you're not playing the heroes you know and love, not exactly anyways. Just like the Ultimate universe made some slight (and some drastic) changes to the characters, you too will be expected to take on the role of one of these heroes and shape them into something new. But that's not to say you have complete creative control. Certain things must remain constant. Names and powers, for example. Tony Stark will always be Iron Man. He will always be head of Stark Industries. He will always have the 'superpower' of a very fancy suit of armor. Your freedom is in what you do between those lines. What will make him unique? Is he still a recovering alcoholic? How would 812 Tony Stark feel about the Superhuman Registration Act? I think you get the idea. Below, I'm going to post a list of characters to choose from, all of whom were at some point members of the 616 Avengers. They will come in the form of partially filled in character sheets. What's filled in in red is information you are not allowed to change. It will usually be limited to the character's name, alias, powers, and a little biographical information. This is merely to prevent someone from trying to play Thor, aka Hank Pym, with the awesome power of his super strength and rocky orange skin. All the really important parts are still yours to decide. Structure You may have noticed a lack of initial set-up to the story. Part of that is to allow you as much freedom as possible in character development. The other part of the reasoning is the structure of the game does not call for it. If any of you played Isaiah Rivers: A Super-Powered RPG, then you may remember my previous attempt to run a game using Issues. The Issue system is a style of episodic gaming where new stories are thrown at you as you finish the events of the previous story. All the Issues will happen in this thread, and they're ideally pretty short, a month, give or take depending on how things play out. Part of why Isaiah Rivers floundered was that I didn't have the issues planned out well enough. Not a problem this time around. I've got years of Marvel story ideas to tweak and present you with, so I'm not concerned about running out of ideas. There's all sorts of fun stuff, like Galactus, or an Invasion of Doombots. I don't wanna reveal all my cards just yet, but you can expect loads of excitement, that's for sure. Rules 1. GM is law. 2. PM all character sheets to GM for approval. 3. Obey the TOS, no spamming, flaming, baiting, trolling, etc. etc. 4. No swearing. The friendly neighborhood mods will just edit it anyways. Save 'em the trouble, and besides, this is comic-land. Why say "****" when you can say something much more colorful like "*&^#%@!"? 5. Try to limit OOC chatter. I'm not calling an all-out ban, but try to keep it to only a couple sentences, and try to package it in with an IC post whenever possible. 6. To the best of your ability, use proper spelling and grammar. The occasional typo is acceptable, but a big block of text without any punctuation or capitalization or even logical paragraph breaks is a pain in the #$%^ to try and decipher, so don't do it, Bub. 7. No God-modding. I should hope I don't have to explain this. Remember, you may be superpowered, but so is everyone else. Also remember, with great power, comes great responsibility. 8. Most importantly, be creative and have fun! Without further ado, the List* Our Team is not complete without: Name: Anthony Edward Stark Jr. Alias: Iron Man Appearance: Age: Powers: none Gadgets: Iron Man Armor Weaknesses: Bio: (must include career as head of Stark Industries, captured by Mandarin, and broke out using Mark I armor) Peronality: Name: Steve Rogers Alias: Captain America Appearance: Age: Must have been between 18-24 in 1941) Gender: Male Powers: Peak Human strength and endurance, exceptional hand-to-hand training Gadgets: Shield Weaknesses: Bio: (Include: Part of U.S. Super Soldier program during WWII, fought in WWII, frozen on a glacier until being thawed rather recently) Personality: Once they're taken care of, any members from this list are acceptable. Thor Hank Pym Wasp Hawkeye Quicksilver Scarlet Witch Hercules Black Panther The Vision Black Knight Black Widow Mantis Moondragon Beast Wonder Man Ms. Marvel Falcon Tigra She-Hulk Captain Marvel Mockingbird/Huntress War Machine Firebird Moon Knight U.S. Agent Living Lightning Spider-Woman Darkhawk Namor Spiderman Captain Britain Luke Cage Wolverine Dr. Strange Iron Fist Storm *This list is not completely comprehensive. I excluded certain former Avenger's members. If you wanna play as one that I've excluded, PM me. However, I've excluded the members of the Fantastic Four who've had stints with the Avengers because I'll probably use them as NPCs in-game, along with Golden Age Human Torch, just to avoid confusion. I've also excluded Avengers who are also Eternals or Inhumans because I don't quite know how they'll be factored into the 812 universe yet, if at all.
me posted:Big Brother: Star Wars Edition IC: Welcome to Big Brother: Star Wars Edition. I am Will Chen, host of Big Brother. What is Big Brother you ask? Well, it is a game based on deceit and power where 12 people are placed into a house, sequestered away from their friends and family. They will have no contact with the outside world (no comm-links, no computers, nothing!), and will only speak with fellow housemates and myself. Their every move will be watched via cameras and displayed over the holonet for all of the galaxy to see! Each week, they will undergo a series of competitions, mentally, physically and endurance in a struggle for power, the most powerful being Head of Household (HoH). And, each week, the HoH will nominated two members, one of whom will be evicted (voted out) by their fellow houseguests. Those that are unfortunately evicted will enter another house, again void of all communication from the outside world, in what is known as the Sequester House. The members in sequester will then vote between the two remaining members and the winner will be crowned champion of Big Brother: Star Wars Edition! OOC: Powers within the House As mentioned, there are several powers within the House that are vital for your survival within the house. Here is a list and brief description of each power: Head of Household (HoH): The most powerful and important position in the big brother house. A competition will be held each week after the eviction to determine the newest HoH. With this power comes perks: your own bedroom, the occasional letter from home, etc. However, big responsibilities also come with it. The HoH will be responsible for selecting two members of the house to be the weeks nominees. If one of these people are vetoes (explained later), then the HoH will then have to choose another member as a replacement nominee. Note: No person can win HoH two times in a row, so the incumbent will be forced to sit from the competition. Power of Veto (PoV) The power of veto holder is another vital position within the Big Brother House. Every week, after the nominees are made, six members (the HoH, the two nominees and two members selected by random draw) will compete in the Power of Veto competition. The winner will be given the Golden Power of veto and the power to veto one of the nominees. If they do so, then the HoH must choose another person to take the place, excluding the former nominee and the PoV holder. Mystery Powers A big theme of the Big Brother game is "Expect the Unexpected". This is because a lot of things happen in the Big Brother House, many of which may not be expected. As such, there just might be certain, unknown powers that may appear throughout the game. These powers, if/when they are being competed for, will only be explained. The winner may or may not be announced. So, keep an eye out for that. Competitions This game is defined by its competitions. They usually consist of physical, mental and endurance competions. There will be numerous competitions held throughout the game, including: Head of Household: The HoH is crowned. Usually mental competitions such as quizzes. Power of veto: the PoV holder is crowned. Usually physical competitions. Food Competitions: This determines if the house will be able to have food or not. Luxury Competitions: This determines if the hose will gain certain luxuries to play with. Every once and a while, during certain competitions, mainly the HoH and PoV, there will be excellent prizes offered. Examples may include cash prizes, luxurious trips or contact with family members. However, obtaining these prizes may place you at a bad spot within the Big Brother House, so be careful. Alright, now, for the game rules. 1.) The Host (GM) is the ultimate authority. 2.) The Host will decide who wins competitions when need be. 3.) There will be no god moding. 4.) Respect one another. 5.) There will be a limit of 10 members. This may be raised if I receive a high number of PMs. 6.) PM ALL character sheets to me. 7.) NO JEDI! Character Creation This game is based on deceit, lies and the will of each houseguest. So, I am looking for a variety of character personalities ranging from: the scheming Lier, the Honest one, the religious one, the Powerful one (the one that wins everything). Please keep the characters varied! Again, there is a limit to 10 members for this game. That allows me to keep track more easily of each character, and limits the number of competitions I must create. And since this is Star Wars style, you may choose any species you want, however I would appreciate if you chose those that most closely resemble Humans in the way they walk, breath, sleep and eat. And NO JEDI! The following is the character sheet: Name: Homeworld: Species: Gender: Age: (No younger than 18) Profession: Personality: Be descriptive! I want detail here. That way, it will aid me in the game. Bio: A background of your character.

Seeing as how, if everyone does their part, no one who cares about me speaking freely is even going to know this message was sent, much less read it, I feel I can safely say this: The recent BPRD Operation codenamed OPERATION ARROWHEAD was without a doubt one of the biggest cluster****s in BPRD history. Though the target was neutralized, several agents were also effectively neutralized. Though you and I both know he officially doesn't exist, and I have gone on-record (off the record of course), at hating his guts, Codename: Hellboy will be missed. He has been instrumental in almost every BPRD operation since its inception. We don't think he's dead, but he's gone, and we're not sure if we can get him back anytime soon. After his disappearance, Special Agent Sherman lost control of her pyrokinetic powers, and the target was caught in the blast, along with Special Agent "Abraham" Sapien. Special Agent Sapien is being treated for severe burns and undergoing grief counseling. Special Agent Sherman has resigned her commission and taken up residence once again at a classified Psychiatric hospital. Thus, the BPRD is left without its top three agents, and regrettably, I've seen all too well that our normal, human Agents have proven inferior to our Paranormal Special Agents in countless actions, suffering, so far, a 163:3 casualty ratio compared with our recently deactivated Paranormal Agents. Thus, it is my regrettable duty to propose OPERATION: WITCH-HUNT. This program will set about to replace Special Agent Hellboy and his ilk with new Paranormal Agents. The details of OPERATION: WITCH-HUNT are attached to this file.Welcome to Hellboy: Operation Witch-Hunt. This game is set in the Hellboy universe, a setting where virtually anything is possible. You will be playing the role of one of the new Paranormal Agents recruited to the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense in OPERATION: WITCH-HUNT. You will be playing something more than human, and there's a wide variety of options, from demons, to mutants, to aliens, to magic practitioners to ghosts, to who-knows-what-else. One of the hallmarks of Hellboy is that all of these agents are very unique and come complete with loads of characters, so don't just post a gimmicky character. You need to have all the interesting personality to go with whatever type of creature you want to play. I won't accept a character that is not unique and interesting.Rules 1. Obey the TOS. No flaming, baiting, swearing, brawling, pornography, or any other crazy stuff that's not allowed and that common sense should suggest you avoid anyways. 2. GM is law. GM is the final word in any disputes that hopefully won't happen. 3. PM all Character Sheets to me for Approval 4. Limit OOC conversation to a minimum. A little bit is fine, but no paragraph-long ones. 5. To the best of your ability, use proper spelling, punctuation, etc. 6. Most importantly, have fun.Character Sheet Name: Age: Species: (human, demon, alien, mutant etc.) Gender: Appearance: Abilities: Personality: Bio:
