On this date in 1851, the pasilalinic-sympathetic compass, also referred to as the snail telegraph, was first demonstrated. A contraption built to prove the belief that snails create a permanent telepathic link when they touch, the entire thing was later shown to be a complete waste of everyone’s time.
What does this have to do with Star Wars, or indeed anything significant? I don't know. I could make a joke about it if you'd like.
