Guess what? Yep! It's that time of the year again! We are pleased to present the Summer season's RPF Awards. As you may very well know, this is our second ceremony that incorporates two forums filled with diverse RPGs, both of a Star Wars and non-Star Wars variety. No doubt we will receive a huge offering of nominations and votes to follow. Please be sure to read the entire post, as always, since it contains a great deal of 'official' information. Purpose of the Awards Our forum is a unique one: fun, yet very challenging. It takes a great deal of hard work and dedication to build a successful game or navigate through the galaxy, or indeed, beyond its borders, with a character, or several of them. These awards have been established in recognition of the extraordinary efforts of our members. The VIPships and publicity awarded to winners are meant to serve as both a reward for a job well done and a way to increase visibility of these members, as guides and recognised specialists in their winning category. It is hoped that others will learn from their example, thus improving the forum overall, and enriching our great community. How it works Awards will be held four times per year, in April (Spring), July (Summer), October (Autumn) and January (Winter). Apologies to anyone who lives in a country where these seasons are reversed. We can't have it both ways, though I'm sure you're happy enough to join the celebrations regardless. The four categories for awards are: Best Game Master Best Role Player Best Role Playing Game Best New Role Playing Game New RPGs are defined as any active game less than three (3) months old, residing in only one (1) thread (ie, multi-thread games are not eligible for this category). RPGs must be active (ie, no locked threads may be nominated). Voting will consist of two rounds. Round 1 will last for five (5) days after the opening of the Awards. During this time, anyone may nominate any active RPG or player. Once a thread/player has been nominated once, please refrain from nominating them again. One nomination is sufficient to save a spot on the ballot. Users may not nominate themselves for awards. All users may make a total of two (2) nominations per category, so choose wisely! Round 2 begins immediately after the results of Round 1 are posted. A list of all the nominees will be compiled for members' pursuit. Members will have seven (7) days to PM their votes from the choices to the host. Users will have the option of voting for up to three (3) people in the Best RPer and best GM categories, and up to two (2) games in the Games categories. At the end of Round 2, the winners will be announced. It should also be noted that any RPG that wins an award becomes ineligible for next season's awards, to ensure fairness and variety. Any players who win awards will be ineligible until the next year. Spring 2006 RPF Awards Winners GAMES: An Unknown Planet in the Unknown Regions [Best New SW RPG] Exiles [Best New NSW RPG] The Galaxy at War Part III: Schism of the Sith [Best SW RPG] The Ultimate Fantasy Community [Best NSW RPG] PLAYERS: Ktala (Autumn 2005) Livi-Wan (Autumn 2005) greyjedi125 (Winter 2006) Sith-I-5 (Winter 2006) Imperial_Hammer / MASTERPRENN / Winged_Jedi / LordDarthUmbrus (Spring 2006) Please refrain from nominating any of the games/players above. Please note that campaigning (ie, soliciting votes and/or nominations) at any time during the awards, in any thread, in any forum, is considered spamming. Such actions will result in a warning and/or ban. Make this fun for everyone and allow the RPF patrons to vote however they desire. Prizes Yes, the part you've all been waiting for. The winning Game Master and Role Player will each be awarded VIPship (with the ability to choose custom colours) for one week. In addition, they will earn a place in the "RPF Hall of Fame" in the Community Centre. The winning RPGs will receive a special place in the introductory sticky thread, as well as the right to the title of "Best RPG," until the next season's winners are announced. New Rule: Two Forums: Double Awards Since the Role Playing Forums now comprise of not only one, but two separate and distinctive forums within which there is role play, there will be two sets of awards. The same categories will be available for voting within both communities, that is, we will have a best player from each from, and a best Game Master, and so on. As such, there will be a total of eight winners this season, four from each board, with just one catch. A member cannot win two awards, either in the same forum, or across forums.
Nominations are open until Friday, July 14 at 5:00am (board time)

NaboosPrincess posted:Obviously a person can only win one forum. Whichever forum they have the most votes in, they win. The other forum would go to whoever placed second. But seriously, it's not even worth worrying about because it won't happen.
