Kaylee Channing Meditation Courtyard, Ispen’s Force Academy The weather was warm this morning, Kaylee thought; warmer than usual. The sky was cloudless, but a slight breeze was blowing from the east, keeping the heat from becoming too oppressive. Kaylee always noticed the weather, it was just something she was attuned to. Some Jedi worked with tools or animals or the medical arts…Kaylee worked with the weather. It often came in handy, but she had to deal with lots of strange looks, even from other Jedi. Luckily, the students and staff at Ispen’s were very understanding — she usually only faced incredulity from outsiders. The people here knew that Force talents came in many different varieties, and people often had little control over what area they excelled in. That was part of the reason Kaylee had summoned all interested students to the courtyard today. She was expecting mostly Jedi, but the Sith students attended her classes from time to time. She enjoyed seeing them; they always brought interesting perspectives to her lessons. She had made the announcement at supper last night: “Tomorrow morning, I will be doing a Force powers exploration workshop in the mediation courtyard. All interested students should report immediately after breakfast. I hope to see many of you there!” They had recently taken on several new students, and she hoped that they would show up. But, if not, she would have an hour to herself to meditate in the peace and quiet of the courtyard. Either way, it looked like it was going to be a wonderful day. TAG: Any students who wish to join the workshop (and if you’re one of my students, you’d better be there. ) Please make a short post to let me know that you’ve arrived. You may also want to write a small personal monologue about why you decided to attend the workshop, what you think about the Academy so far, what you did that morning, etc. Use this as an opportunity to convey a little bit about your character!
The young Sith student found himself wandering again, not simply because he could, but because the training he received as a mercenary always told him to patrol an area a few times to get used to the place. Being new to Ispen's made it difficult to know every nook and cranny that made up the school grounds, especially when students were segregated into Jedi and Sith, not to mention the Nexus house where Kardge thought he really belonged. The Sith in his house were far too cruel for his taste, and if Kardge could, he would request a transfer right away. His constant wandering and lack of thought landed him right in the center of Master Channing's training exercise. Many of the classes were open to all students, and even a few Sith students managed to squeeze in a jedi class or two. Usually to pervert the methods for their own use and how to counter them if a Jedi were to use them. Sith were sneaky that way. Sneaky and underhanded tricks may win battles for Sith, but mercenaries fight tooth and nail with whatever they have at their disposal: light side or no. Kardge stepped forward and saluted the female Jedi Master. "Master Channing, ma'am! Would you mind if Student Kardge were to join your exercise, ma'am?"
Victor woke up early; he had gone to bed quite early as well. It was a normal routine for him: wake up early, meditate in the middle of his room for a few minutes, maybe longer, go through the training sessions and classes, eat the meals, and then practice with his training saber in his room by himself before he went to bed. Last night, after he heard the announcement from Master Channing, he skipped his saber routines and went to bed early. After his short period of meditation, Vic made his way down to the Courtyard where Channing was. On his way down, he wondered why he was going to the meditation practice instead of the saber duels. He was an above average duelest, in his eyes at least. He loved the intense work out that it gave him, the competition and especially the feeling of power he obtains as he dominates over his opponent. Was it because he wanted to grow more in the ways of the Force rather than dueling? Or was it because he found Channing to be extremely beautiful; her pink hair complementing her decently tanned skin and her impeccable green eyes...? He decided it was a little bit of both; ever since he was on Coruscant two years ago he had wanted nothing more than to expand his Force knowledge, in both the Light Side and dark. And, it was normal for kids to have crushes on beautiful older women. When Vic arrived to the courtyard, he was treated with a view of a few other students who either would rather learn the Force - or look at Master Channing - than duel other students. As he settled in, he made sure he secured himself a spot right up in front so he could pick up on the lesson a lot quicker...and to get a better look at Master Channing. He still couldn't believe he wasn't in the dueling hall right now.
