Daca nu l-ati vazut pana acum, va sfatuiesc cu toata caldura si seriozitatea sa vedeti filmul "An Inconvenient Truth", pentru care Al Gore a primit premiul Oscar la sectiunea documentare, si a fost incununat anul acesta si cu premiul Nobel pentru pace (pentru toata activitatea lui pro-conservationism si ecologie).

A Costa Rican artist found himself in hot water with the animal protection people in his home country after using a starving, sick street dog as part of an exposition in Managua, Nicaragua, in August. Guillermo “Habacuc” Vargas allegedly found the dog tied up on a street corner in a poor Nicaragua barrio and brought it to the showing. He tied the dog, according to furious animal lovers, in a corner of the salon where it died after a day.
How about we tie that “artist” up in a corner and let him die?! Now that would be art.

Mda... Parerea mea ar fi cam urmatoarea: omul e nebun si sadic, "artist" din cate inteleg. Ca el sunt probabil si altii. Ceea ce a facut pentru el e "arta". OK. Fiecare cu pasarelele lui.
Sincer, eu nu-l consider vinovat pentru altceva decat pentru nebunia lui. Dar expozitia aia avea organizatori - de ce i s-a permis sa-si "expuna opera de arta"? Expozitia aia avea vizitatori - de ce nu a luat nimeni atitudine? Acei oameni nu erau nebuni, prin urmare sunt mult mai vinovati pentru ceea ce s-a intamplat decat asa-zisul artist. S-a luat atitudine doar dupa ce cainele a murit. E normal sa se intample asa? Eu cred ca nu.

To me, that might be a little hippie and extreme, but developing critical thinking and a civic voice is the crucial step/tool in order to be alive, not just living. Remember, there are no innocent bystanders, just people who choose to look the other way when faced with choices.

@Milena: Yes, it targets primarily them, but it does have relevance for us the sense of developing critical thinking, the most important tool in the rationalization/processing of things around us.
