This thread will be posted permanently at the top and I advise everyone to check this thread frequently.

This group has many different phacits to it. One of them is costuming. And there are only a couple of us who have costumes at this point in time. I would like this group to move more into the costuming realm so that we may be in costume at certain events which will bring more attention to our group.

As I have stated at the meeting those who wish to create a costume, please have your choice of costumes ready for our next meeting. I am taking it one step further and posted this thead so that we can go ahead and get started.

What I would like is for all Rogues interested in creating a costume post your idea for your cotume here in this thread. From there we will have links posted to connect Rogues to web sites and people who are knowledgeable in that certain costume design. After we get an idea of the types of costumes we are interested in, we can then set up costume shops to make certain parts to costumes. Obviously, someone wanting to design a Jedi costume will not be interested in a X-Wing Fighter costume shop. And visa versa. But that is not to say one cannot attend the costume shop. Depending on costume shop locations, food and drinks will be discussed prior to the set date of costume shop.

Also use this thread to post information regarding costuming links and costume materials. Lets also keep this thread from being derailed (keep the conversation on topic.)

Now, I would like all Rogues interested to copy and paste the following information in their response with their added information to this thread.

Post the costume you currently have and your idea:current/idea

I think a Jedi in EU green like Corran Horn (original, not identical) will be first for me. I will do X-wing if everyone else wants to, but it's not my favorite. I prefer Endor Rebel Commando actually first, but that darn helmet looks WAY too hard to make. If I could get a mass produced one this would be my first choice. Instead, I would prefer the Rebel Fleet Trooper, because that is one of the first costumes I saw when the very first movie blessed me with A New Hope for adventure in my young teenage life. Ahhhhh, the good ol days when life was simple. - Rogue 9

this might be pushing the bounds of canon, but I would dig an X-wing outfit like this. Of course, Corran would have worn Rogue Squadron orange when on the team, I suppose... can you tell I like Green?

Ekim, if you really want to do the RFT, the helmet is not all that hard. Even if you get a kit and put it together yourself. You can do it! And if you need help, you know where to find me. Since I've done that one recently I have all the links and resources at hand. happy

Copy. I'm strongly considering the Jedi garb first, since I can get the whole outfit for about $200. I can use my existing saber until I get the sabers I want. That could tide me until late Fall at least.

I am so inclined to do Corran Horn style Jedi, LDV. I just wish we could grow any part of a beard at work, because I grow a mean goatee- it covers up my double chins! I'll show you my old bounty hunting ID from 10 years ago- what a freakin scary lookin tough guy (in appearance anyway-softie inside)! Placer County gets to wear beards, but I know that is rare for Cor Sec on this rock. Oh well, I can grow one when I retire in like 12-17 years. No LDV, I will not be pursuing master rank in our profession (detective), which permits such attire: neither me nor my family could handle the commitment required to go beyond my assignment now (which I'm happy at anyway).

So be it... Jedi.

I just bid on Jedi boots on ebay (which I assume I'll win), and will soon be "Forced" to purchase an entire costume (part of an extensive "Jedi" mind trick I am using upon myself). Boots are only $25 + $13 for shipping.

Any opinions as to which style is preferred? I like the wider calf "pirate" style, but Ella likes the skinnier looking military calvary style: please, chime in-

brown pirate style

and military calvary style

what do YOU think?

I think the military style is closer to the movies, but if you're not going for movie accuracy then either one would work.

Who is the guy in the Corran Horn picture? He looks really familiar (and uber-cute at that). love

I cancelled the pirate boots and bid on the military tall ones in brown. I will probably ebay the custom green Jedi costume at the end of the month. I will make do with the blue MR Anakin EP1 lightsaber I have now, until I can blow $400 on two new lightsabers for escrima dueling.

Corran Horn model is likely a fan. He's probably gay (typical guy thing to say about a handsomer dude). LOL
