I think things are slowly getting better for us. For a while there I wasn't getting any overtime..finances were a little tight. I've been coming to the boards and seeing the posts but there hasn't been a lot of activity and Belda and I have had a lot on our minds. Plus we have been watching all the Star Trek series. She's never seen Star Trek before even though she is friends with a lot of Trek friends. It's still a little rough but I'm hoping things will get better.. I've been getting more overtime the last couple weeks so that helps.

How are things going with you, Earl and the family?

I'm hoping that me and her can come back to the meetings again soon too.. we just barely had enough for anything else lately.

Alex

It's looking rather cold and empty in here, maybe someone should turn a light.

I'm not posting cute dogs but I'm not sure how many of you people watched Golden Girls.. Our favorite mother Sophia played by Estelle Getty passed away today.

She was my favorite golden girl, too.

We have been doing pretty good, Alex. I understand on the funds as Earl has a commute and the cost of gas is starting to even affect his collecting. I am glad that things are starting to look up. You and Belda always have a great attitude and are constantly striving for better. happy Stay positive and it will all work out. happy

Never seen a Star Trek. :0 Almost unamerican.....just kidding. I am a fan of the older hoakie stuff. happy

Yes Russ..me and Belda watch Golden Girls every once in a while when it is on tv plus I'm planning to collect the dvds when I get the chance because it's part of the novelty of the 80's for me.

I pretty much like everyone in the Golden Girls because they all have their quirks and good qualities and made it work for a few years. But Sophia is my favorite mother in all comedy of all time.

As far as Star Trek.. Captain Benjamin Sisko is my all time favorite character in Star Trek history. Even though Picard is part of the 80's novelty I really enjoyed Sisko. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday happy

Alex (I'm relaxing before I go to sleep) sleep

I always thought of the show as more of a 90's show but guess debuting in 85 puts it smack in the middle of the 80's. I have a fondness for the 80's also. Lots of fun happened during those years. happy I got to go to bars, and learned to be a grown up in the 80's. happy

Loved Picard's accent even though he wasn't as hoakie as Kirk. happy

No, there was no hokie-ness with Picard...just pure bald sex-appeal.

Yeah, as a kid, I remember thinking about Star Trek the same way I thought about Batman...that it was a strange show for adults. I guess Star Trek wasn't as bad as Batman, but I thought they were both pretty cheesy. Thinking about it, those of us of that "age" should probably be scarred, 'cause there was some seriously trippy TV going on in the late 60's thru the mid 70's.
