What: HOLIDAY PARTY
When: Saturday Dec. 29th, 2007 at 5pm Officially (Can come as early as 12pm to start games)
Where: RipRoar's house [pm or email me to get directions if needed]
Why: For fun with friend's and Family (You are all extended family)
How: See below
Who: YOU - WE WANT YOU TO COME!
Game Theme: There will be some - see below.
KAREN FILL IN OFFICIAL party details when you get a chance (I will copy previous topics here for now)
I am off work Dec.29th and 30th so i'm going to plan to have our christmas/new years party on that night...officially.
Place will be at RipRoar's (contact him if you need directions) and time will be announced soon. You will need to bring two things. The first being a gift (no more than $10) that could be given to either a male or female. The second being one (or more if your wallet will allow) canned goods to be donated in our name to either second harvest or the salvation army to help with hunger needs this winter.
More details soon to come. it's a fun game (really) where everyone gets to open and/or steal gifts that have already been opened and a little too complicated to explain on a computer. But you will have to trust that it'll be fun and everyone can play (over age 10). We will make up games for the younger kids to play too.
On another note, if anyone can't afford a gift that is NO PROBLEM!!! I have bought a few things to toss in the pile in case that happens or someone forgets.
I would like to get an approximate head count as to how many people think they're coming (so I know what food to buy etc.)
Yes drinking is allowed for adults only (As long as they are staying or have ride – keys will be collected at the frig. Door in exchange for drink)
Yes Couches are available (Bring your fav. blankie if needed or teddy bear)
A theme would be cool for the gifts - what do you think Karen (Star...)? My work Christmas party did ornaments last couple years but doesn't have to be that!
They also played a photo game where we all had to guess who the person was who submitted the photo (Pick your most unusual photo from childhood or a baby shot - that was the hardest) ANYONE WANT TO PLAY THIS TOO! Could have a prize!!! Will need photos before party though!
Karen – let us know more details if needed or changes!

looks like you have hit on all of the big highlights.
Though a themed gift exchange is a great idea and undoubtably fun I had planned on an unthemed one. StarWars presents are a great gift since they're one of the reasons we are all here, but others are welcome and encouraged. Use your imaginations!!! You have $10 max. Be creative!
The photo game sounds fun, and I have some prizes!!! Everyone bring one photo of yourself at any age (not in FULL costume though as that's unfair) in any situation. I'll line them up and everyone can write down their guesses, the one with the most correct will win a prize!
Anyway, I have a game in mind for children only (since our gift exchange is adult only); also there is another game that requires child AND adult participation.
ALl I can promise you is that you'll have a great time.
I'm on vacation right now (emailing you guys all the way from Panama City Beach, Florida) but i'll organize the food and other such things later.

30 years ago? Is Revenge of the Nerds that old? LOL no I assume you mean Star Wars. That's 30 now isn't it? I mean I am 24 and I was born in 1983 so Star Wars must be 30 by now right? Man what other films are that old? Dirty Harry, Stripes maybe? Is Ghostbusters 30 yet? Uh ...Man we should have a whole thread for films that came out in the 70's that would be fun. Maybe I'll do that.

Ok guys/girls here's another update. This is a BYOB kind of party ok? I am arranging for the food to be there but any and all alcohol will have to be brought by you consumers.
Also remember CHILDREN ARE INVITED!!! SO if you have them...BRING them! There will be fun things for them to do while the adults are playing games of their own.
Hey Rip, i'll bring over a few more sleeping bags incase this turns into a camp out!

You know you have it bad when you miss a Salisbury Fan Force SCAVENGER HUNT! Our group is going strong and will continue to grow! Our sister costuming group which many of us started with is solid and has BIG plans for 2008. Can't wait for our party!
Karen is planning everything! She deserves a GREAT BIG THANK YOU! Hopefully this time next year all her great news will be etched in stone (a diamond no less) and we can have the 2nd annual party at her digs! She would love that!
If you would like to contirbute to food, prizes etc. you may - just give it directly to her even though she is asking for none!
THANKS AGAIN! Remember you can all crash at the house that night since our typical gamenights go to 2 or 3 am anyway what's the difference if you just stay - I'll have breakfast going in the morning!

I am looking forward to seeing all of my old friends and looks like meet some new ones. I agree with Smash. I got used to all those weekends and getting treated to new things like board games! That was fun! Oh, by the way, RipRoar, we won!  Right now I am trying to think of the gift to bring. I just hope Toys R Us, Kay Bee Toys and or Wal-Mart has not sold out of everything. Might get something I want to "steal" back!

Hey Guys! Just want to let you know I may not be there until after 7:00pm maybe even closer to 9:00pm my family from Charlotte who we never see are coming for Christmas and I don't know what time they will lewave. Also my family from GA is coming up so I may be later than I say on here but I do plan on coming. I guess I won't bring any live animals but I probably will bring balloon animals if that's cool. I went to toys Rus to get some action figures but they were practically out. I was like WOE! See you guys on saturday!
