Name: Kathy
Age: 35
Location: Los Gatos
SW Related Interests: Costume making - primarily Leia and Padme.
Non-SW Related Interests: Sewing, embroidery, jewelry making, beading – etc. Whatever it takes to get a costume made, I’m determined to learn it! Casual interest in Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre films and television such as LOTR, Battlestar Galactica, Harry Potter, Futurama, & Sliders.

I also enjoy ice skating, skiing, waterskiing, hiking, and dabbling in web design.

How did you get started on SW: Watching the original “Star Wars” in the theater with both of my parents and my sister back in 1977. It was actually the first time our entire family had gone to a movie together – Star Wars was that huge! After that, my sister collected the Kenner action figures and toys that we played with for years. Unfortunately mom cleaned out the loft and gave away the collection before I had a chance to stop her sad

I have a dream which will come true someday to build a Droid Army. Sounds corny but I promise you I will do it. I also looking for a girl with the same interest hopefull I will find her but hey they are many Calamari in the sea.

I am also with San Fan Force but it seems to be really inactive happy

Well I LOVE STAR WARS!

Age: 38

SW related interests: the films, music, action figures, forums, background stories (i read a serialization back home of one of the oT which explained Palpatine's rise to power)

Non SW interests: music, especially jazz and sci fic/fantasy and horror original score i.e. jerry goldsmith, john williams, i could go on and on. Star Trek, I like the movies featuring the original crew among the TV series I think Voyager was the best, books, anything horror movies or thrillers.

How I got started: I saw the original screening of ANH back in 1977 I was I think 10 or 11 in a crowded moviehouse together with the whole family back home (Philippines) and from then on I was hooked. I can still remember the awe that I held all throughout the movie. I can still remember who i was with on every movie of star wars from then on. Like I was with a classmate when i saw Return of the Jedi and with a my best bud when O saw Phantom Menace (he ruined ot to me by telling me that Darth Maul will die, like 10 minutes before the actual duel. I went with a friend to the midnight showing of Sith to capture the same feeling, and it was there. THere were kids dressed up like Darth Vader at Century in West Lake. I called back home and learned that my sister took my 4 yr old nephew to see Sith and he loved Darth Vader! Ha ha ha I guess its like genetic and is passed on from one generation to the next. Hope to see or hear from all the otehrs out here, and it warms the heart that it is something that can bridge the gap between generations and or races.

Peace!

How did you get started on SW: I can't really remember, but I think it had something to do with getting a lightsaber for christmas (probably around the time of the special edition of ROTJ release, because it was luke's ROTJ saber that I got. After that, it was SW ot no forseeable end. I now own two hardware sabers, two plastic collectable sabers, one vader saber that opens out to reveal luke blowing up the death star, and A hck of a lot of star wars videos/DVD's.

They have truly entertained me and my family. grin

Name: Alison

Age: 31

Location: San Jose

SW Related Interests: A wide range, from the movies to costuming, the novels, occasionally reading fanfiction, music videos; I don't generally play video games, but I was recently introduced to KOTOR, which seems a lot of fun. And with the new movie finally out, I've been really enjoying the chance to discuss its many aspects with friends.

Non-SW Related Interests: Also a wide range. Let's see... LotR, Stargate, Star Trek, sci-fi/fantasy in general; reading, hiking, camping, redwoods, music, going out dancing, sewing, science... lots of other stuff that I'm probably forgetting...

How did you get started on SW: I can't really remember, to be honest. My parents took me to see ANH about a month after it opened, but while I do remember getting in the car to go see the movie, I don't remember seeing the movie itself! But after that, Star Wars just seemed to be there, as part of common knowledge and part of my life, fluxuating in importance according to whether anything Star Wars related was going on at the time, but always dear to my heart.

Name: Lindsay

Age: 16

SW Related Interests: pretty much everything... especially DARTH VADER. happy I'm into some of the books too (mainly anything by Timothy Zahn, or anything in the Clone Wars series. I'll read any EU except the NJO, I can't stand it for some reason.) I also have an obsession with collecting all the trading cards and Burger King toys tongue

Non-SW Related Interests: The Matrix (mostly the first one), HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY and its related sequels, Harry Potter (more the books than the movies though), music (mostly alternative rock and techno)... I don't really watch much TV, but I love CSI, Lost, and NCIS. Oh, and Monty Python's Flying Circus, of course. happy

How did you get started on SW: Obviously, because of my age, I haven't been a fan as long as most of you have. When I was in elementary school, I heard about TPM coming out, I saw the trailer and it looked interesting, so I saw the originals first, then I went to see TPM... and I've been hooked ever since.

I'm from SJ, but the Bay Area's one big happy family, right? grin

Name: Romil (there's one you won't hear every day)
Age: 31, although I feel like I'm regressing
Location: South San Jose
SW Related Interests: The movies, the comics, the music, this FRIKKIN' FABULOUS Epic Duels game I introduced to my friends and now we can't stop playing, Aayla Secura, Aayla Secura, and Aayla Secura. Oh, and Yoda and Kit Fisto, too. They're cool grin
Non-SW Related Interests: The Phantom of the Opera (except for that horrid movie version that just came out. Hire people who can sing next time, Schumacher!), fencing and your assorted edged weapons, Argentine tango, animation (2-D's my particular field of expertise), sci-fi and other genre entertainment, and "Angel: The Series."
How did you get started on SW: I was told I've seen all three original films in the theater, but I only recall as far back as "Jedi." But apparently, I was a fan before that since I had lots of the toys. After 1983, Star Wars fever didn't really hit me until "Clones" when I started dabbling into the new EU with Aayla as my guide. From there it's branched out to discovering other characters via the comics and novels, but I have yet to venture into the OT EU - so many novels, it's just too daunting. I barely made it through "Heir to the Empire!"

hey all,

name: Mark Weinbeg
age:30
I play music and have lived in San Francisco just about all my life, when I'm not on tour performing. I have loved Star Wars forever and I geek out on it pretty hard, which I love to do. I'm heading down to Comic-con this year so if anyone else is going down from San Francisco, which I'm sure there are, we should meet up down in SD. Bye happy

One day I was abducted by an alien named Mizuho. She wanted me to help her fight the Scientologists and their Sith Lord, L. Ron Hubbard. So I got in my Super Transforming Veritech Fighter, YF-21, and went on a quest to save the galaxy. On my quest, I was forced to fight and kill these teenagers with abnormally large eyes, irritating love triangles, and Gundams. When I had killed L. Ron Hubbard I reached power level Super Saiyajin 69, enough power to train as a Jedi, which is why I joined.

And if you don't believe my lie is true, ask the blind man! He saw all this, too!
