RE: CLONE WARS
Had a blast on Monday night!!
I really liked it. Like Ming was saying it waas nice to not have all the madness going on but at the same time it felt different. I thought Ahsoka was not nearly as "Spoiled brat" ish, like Anakin was in EP II but I think for both characters, that is the point. That they are supposed to be brats, and have to learn to grow up as Matt was saying. I liked Stinky, but before he came on screen I was wondering how they were going to get a big fat Hutt on that ship of theirs? Then Stinky the tad pole came on! Too funny. Battle Droids,, were also too funny. And OMG Zyro the Hutt Wow,,, I never thought Id see a drag queen in SW!!! That was comedy. Cant wait for the series. I was only disapointed in that Grievous was not really in it. BUT I LOVED LOVED LOVED Ventress!!
Thanx to Matt and Dale for the awesome poster and t-shirt. Thanx guys
Thanx to Kathy for taking me home, I really appreciate it!
And thanx to Joan for finding little 'ol me in the mob of people in line and bringing me to the front to get me in.
And also Joan, thanx for listening.

eventhough the movie had poor reviews i figured i'd torture myself and see the movie.i have to agree that this movie really sucked!i tried to like it but the storyline was boring as hell, and characters were so cheezy! about 40 min into the movie i even fell asleep! this should of been straight to dvd. i love starwars but this garbage shouldn't of even been released at the theaters.

RE: CLONE WARS
lol Kev... I had low expectations begin with so it didn't surprise me when the story was lacking and the plot was... err... well cartoonish. I mean... Stinky? Come on... lol Also Asokha's attitude was very unbecomming of Jedi. I believed that initiate learners as well as Padawans would have reveared a "Great" Jedi like Anakin Skywalker (regardless of the sad ruined portrayal by Hayden). She shouldn't have been snippy and calling Anakin "Sky Guy" and overall be a lil brat.
It's a bad move to the remaining quality and integrity of the classic universe which draws more on emotion, great plot, and drama but it'll draw in the kids further which I think is kinda the point. As adults we over criticize and judge cos it's our job, we know to much, it's experience that makes us judge (like parents, and in a sense Star Wars is like our child if you think about it). Me of all people knows way too much so it's easy to be overly critical. From a kids POV though, I can definetly see the appeal. First make the Padawan a girl, draw in more of the lil girls out there as fans cos boys are totally tapped out... lol. Add HEAPS of battles, cos explosions and carnage is fun. My only request is that if Lucas does persue Asokha's character to it's logical conclusion, make it's ending WORTH something. Heroic, meaningful, and relevant to Anakin's downfall. Not some melodramatic fall like Anakin's weak turn to Vader in Ep. III. You go from "What have I done!" to "I will do whatever you ask...". Oh yeah, that's some amazin drama. Yep, still pissed at Ep. III... nothing can redeem that. At least Clone Wars Anakin didn't piss me off which is a lil something.

Stinky.
That should be the description of the story. I took my son, niece, and nephew. They all loved it.
I must admit being a war movie buff, I liked the battle scenes with the clones. Funny, the best parts of the movies I liked are the Jawa's and the battle droids. They were keystone cops slapstick hilarious. (all thanks to Matt Woods
)

I never considered it a movie. This just set the stage for what the series will explore. I quickly realized that this was not a "movie" during the opening when there was no crawl and they had a narration explaining the events . I'm still excited to see what's in store.

I still consider it just a cartoon... Not movie calibur, more like the ewok and driods cartoons. Just better looking. The fire fights with the clones were really brutal, almost Saving Private Ryan like but not bloody. lol

I'm glad I was able to see the movie without a review clouding my vision. I don't think it's half as bad as what I've heard (didn't read) one review had said. Supposedly one review rated it just slightly better than the Holiday Special. I'm sorry, the Holiday Special is unwatchable garbage. Equating the animated feature to that is totally unfair and uncalled for. There's a lot of great humor and animation in this movie! I think that the problem is that movie reviewers are expecting to see something that's the same caliber as a Disney or Pixar feature film. This is a TV show on the big screen. If you took some of those Disney Channel cartoons and put them on the big screen they wouldn't begin to hold up as well as Clone Wars did.
I saw 3/4 of it again this weekend (missed the beginning since we had a club table and raffle prizes we were cleaning up before the movie started). I agree, the battle droids have the best lines in the movie. I the adults around me were laughing at the same scenes. Little things like Ventress force pushing the battle droid off the cliff when he was asking what he should report to Dooku "Should I tell him they got away?" The Jawas running over to raid the ship that had landed with one little guy waving his friends to come on over... too funny. The bar on Couruscant that was very much like the Cantina Bar in ANH. Many things sprinkled in for fans of the Original Trilogy. I know some people were put off by the nick names being thrown around. It didn't feel like the Prequels that were so serious. I argued that it was OK for a kids cartoon and a bit of a nod to the feel of the Original Trilogy where we heard funny nicknames like "Fuzzball" for Chewbacca, Han being called a Nerfherder, and "Into the garbage chute Flyboy..." Granted, the characters were not called these names over and over again.
I just worry that this plan to promote the TV show by premiering it in theaters won't backfire and cause people to stay away from the weekly series simply because the movie got bad reviews

RE: CLONE WARS
i have yet to see it... been busy moving and now have three jobs for the same company (yikes!)
but i have heard reviews from three die-hard star wars fans: one said it was really good and two said it was for kids and the story is underdeveloped. i will need to see it for myself and decide...
not looking good so far but popularity never stopped me from liking what i like anyway, so we will see.

Finally saw it.
Definitely a worthy entry into the Prequel Saga.
It was like watching cinema scenes from a video game, except with a really really bad storyline. And a N64 video game.
Ashoka, aka Jedi Jailbait, just needs to die a very bloody death in the TV series.
