When the trailer first came out, I got very excited and enthusiastic about making an Ahsoka costume for the Clone Wars premiere. I mean, regardless of whether the character is a good idea or not, from a costuming (and event) POV it would be very cool. But then I did a lot of reading and research, especially on Pam's page, and was worried that it would be unrealistic to get a decent job done by Aug, given my schedule. sad So I think that instead I will aim for a new set of Jedi robes, perhaps, since my old ones are a bit outdated.

I agree with Ming... I don't like the idea of the Hutts gettin involved with the Republic. It's stupid.

Are you guys gonna wait in line for hours like the trilogies? and if so what theater do you guys usually go to?

There has always been a very big line-standing event here in the South Bay at the Winchester Century theaters in San Jose. We camped in line for as many days as the theater would allow (typically Mon-Wed nights), had various Star Wars activities during the day, and in some cases showed the previous movies the last night on a projector and big screen in the lot. And of course, people in costume. It's always a huge blast - a 3-day Star Wars party. grin

Gimmick?
You are tell me that Clone Wars is part of a marketing scheme?
Nah!

Ha! Of course, it is. Now, with the movies, are done.

As to waiting in line in days for something I consider EU, I doubt it.
Not the same. If it was a big must-see event, why in August?

Just another ploy to market the series on Cartoon Network.
I plan to see it, but there is no rush this time.
I finally went to see Indy IV last week.
That is another story....

Um, because all the big summer films will have been released by then, and thus, no direct competition. happy

Nice try.

So, the prequels should have came out in August instead of May?
Will Clone Wars have a big promotion as in the past?
Doubt it.

Um, no, the prequels were different, being live-action and were being released in Star Wars tradition the middle of the week before Memorial Day. It would've gotten lost to what other films were released in May this year. Releasing it in August puts it where it can get the most exposure, and it will be fresher in people's minds when the series begins, and also when The Force Unleashed comes out in September. As for it being EU, with Lucas personally involved, I beg to differ. It's canon, as was the previous series paving the way to Episode III. Personally, I'd liken the idea of the pilot episode of the live-action series to released in a similar way in a year or two. Plus, I've got an event (or two) in the planning stages too.

grin

Soooooo... like Mace Windu fighting a million battle droids and that sand tsunami maker thing was canon... raised_brow Yeah...... it's a cartoon, fancier than the cartoon network version but still it's more EU than anything. Trust me since I'm the EU specialist here, it's on par with the original clone wars cartoon, just prettier and I'm personally kinda sick of all sizzle and no steak from LFL... tired

Yeah well if you dig deep enough maybe you'll strike oil... or hit a gas line... lol

"Judge it by the trailers do you?"

I don't think I was digging any sort of hole - I think it's a legitimate reason for the August release date, and I was just basing my opinions on the sneak peek I saw from SWW. So I guess I won't be seeing some of you on opening weekend then? Until August 18, I'll just keep my plans for some other groups then.

It's decided. If Ming says its EU...

So let it be written, so let it be done.

lol... thx Rob. haha...

I still am gonna see it Matty, don't get me wrong. Just not gonna buy in to the pychotic hype of previous SWs *cough*prequels*cough*... and I think we're all a little more cautious of LFLs strategery when it comes to promotion... I was sorely incredibly disappointed with ROTS, AOTC was actually great except for the "love" but the things they set up in AOTC utterly failed in ROTS, and... well... we all know about TPM. Still it COULD be good, it COULD be great, but even MY patience with LFL is now limited. I guess jaded is the word Matt... Still it's no longer about the movie mainly, it's about... The People... raised_brow
