Hey Matt,
Is this going to be our big clone wars event or are we going to do something for the actual premire as well. To make the preview I would have to rearrange my work schedule, which is tough these days, so I was figuring on just doing the premire event. But if you need me at the screening, I can see what I can do.

I was told that we are "encouraged" to show up in costume Monday night for this preview screening. But for actual opening weekend (Aug. 15-17), the Rebel Legion and GGG have other events planned outside SF, that the SFFF are welcome to as well, of course!

I'm thinking Rach was wondering if there's anything SFFF will be spearheading for the actual premier for us. We maybe welcome to 501st and/or Rebel legion events but not many of us are 501st and/or Rebel Legion and will most likely feel like a third wheel which also means we'd be more or less (I'd say less) uninvovled in any coordination, which is fine... I'd say the prescreen should be the event anyway. Besides I won't be able to go to the actual premier due to work thus not having SFFF Star Wars opening day event is fine with me (wow did I just say that...) esp once we've seen it at the prescreening... Still... it's a valid inquiry.

I think most of SFFF will be seeing it on the 11th, and like I said, there are several events to choose from around the Bay Area to see the film. And for those that missed the previous times, David Prowse, aka Darth Vader will be at Pier 39 opening weekend as well.
Some of you have said they had trouble printing the passes for the 11th with the mass e-mail I sent out. In today's paper I saw this:
The San Francisco Chronicle invites you to a special screening in San Francisco.
For your chance to win tickets to see "The Clone Wars" in San Francisco, text the keyword ANAKIN and your zip code to 43KIX (43549).
Winners will be notified by return text message on August 7. Advance screening will be held August 11.

No. It's a special advanced private screening that you need passes for. The film starts at 7 pm, but you need to be in line early to get a seat, as a pass doesn't guarantee one. You can print the passes from the e-mail I sent you, or text for them (see above).

I would clear it with CS first before showing up as an SFFF member/costumed to a GGG event. There are quite a few restrictions on some of the events from the theater management. However feel free to show up as a general public/paying customer.
