I'm looking to buy a PS3 this week. Know anyone selling one? I would like a 60 gig because of the backwards compatibility, but I know they are discontinued. Only 40 and 80's now.

Dude, you need to get Rock Band! 
Depending on the game, you can still get a majority of PS and PS2 games working on the PS3. I haven't tried all but games like BF2 work on my 80GB. I've read the 40GB won't work at all.
Just because Amazon posted that, doesn't necessarily mean it is coming anytime soon. They are always prelisting titles before they are even announced by the studios.
There are some very good BD titles out now. Mostly stuff from Disney. And most of the good deals are from Amazon. Check them daily as they are always having specials.

Yeah, that notice isn't a gage on any imminent release. For some reason Lucasfilm has always been slow to release on the newest formats. It took years for the OT to show up on DVD, same with Indiana Jones. Of course we will probably never see the Holiday Special of Howard the Duck officially released  .

my ps3 is the 60gb one with backwards compatibility and the memory card and usb slots.i bought a swapable 160 GB HD that i haven't gotten around to swapping the 60GB hard drive yet. is rockband playable with friends online? it's only me at home who'd play it if i bought it.
my friend at lucasfilm told me that Indy will indeed come out on blu ray, OT and PT? i'll have to ask her...
