I'll be there around 1:15, coming from San Mateo. I vote for the DeAnza site but either will be fine. I'll bring some kind of desert, maybe a cake. We have a belated birthday to celebrate after all. happy

Either location is fine with me.

I can bring Hamburger patties and buns for the grill, along with ketchup, mustard, lettuce and tomato.

I can be there if someone, like Eva, can give me a ride. I can take BART to wherever and chip in for gas.

May 31st is also my daughter's birthday. happy

What should I bring? Potato salad, veggies, dessert, what?

Let me know.

Lady Sami

I think everyone should bring a bit of meat to barbeque so that one person does not bring it all. I will bring links and perhaps pork ribs, barbeque sauce and maybe a cake for all those birthday people we have not had a chance to celebrate. Ann, veggies and desert would be good since Joan is already bringing potato and macaroni salad. There should be variety of foods to pick from.
People should also not forget:
Forks, paper plates, cups
table cloth for the table

Sorry for chiming in late, but I'm still without internet service at my new place. I am, however, planning on attending the picnic. Not sure what to bring, since it sounds like burgers, links, hot dogs and different picnic salads have already been covered. What else do people eat at a picnic? Fruit? bread? Veggies? Or if someone didn't want to bring a full amount of something, ie enough for everyone, I could split it with them...? In addition to food, I will bring paper plates and plastic silverware.

I really appreciate that the location was selected for a bit south of the city. I have to agree with some of what was said earlier in this thread... The name might be SFFF, but the membership has grown to cover the whole bay area. And SF is only "central" for the people who live up in that area. For a growing number of us, it's anything but central. I have to confess, always having the meetings and events up in the city is starting to mean I may only occasionally be able to attend. *shrug*

SF = Coruscant, center of the galaxy.
SJ = Tattooine, outer rim. tongue

Kidding guys (and gals). More or less though SF is center of the bay if you consider North Bay and East Bay. Two main bridges run into SF as well as BART... However maybe we can occasionally met at Tanforan now for meetings once in a while... Free parking as well as a shopping, lots of food places in the immediate area (BJ, Chilies, Fridays, Red Robins, Cleo's Brazillian BBQ, food court in the mall (which include Hawaiian BBQ, Jolly Bee "chicken joy!", Panda Express, Top Dog, etc etc etc), brand new digital theater for the latest movies, easy access from 280 and 101. Around a 25 minute drive up from SJ and 10-15 minutes down from SF... 5 minutes from Genentech (not that that has anything to do with anything but I thought I'd mention it.).

Oh and a Costco near by for the cheaper gas! grin

Actually, when George "Luke S." wrote Star Wars, he must have based Tatooine on his home town of Modesto, which is waaaay in the outer rim. wink

As for meetings, I agree that we can have them at Tanforan for the reasons Ming mentioned, but I would like to have one this summer at the Presidio for new group photos for the website with everyone wearing their SFFF shirts along with the new banner and at nearby Crissy Field with the GG bridge in the background.

The picnic will tecnically be a meeting too, since it seems like forever that we've had one. sad

Since the meats seem to be taken care of, I'll bring chips and dip, along with my new biker scout armor to take pictures by the trees. wink
