I hated the fifth book, but the sixth book has been my favorite one of the series so far. I'm currently reading the 8th one, it's not as good as 6 or 7, but it's better than 5.
Thats tough as I now have to decide if I want to get through the 5th book to move onto the 6th. If you say the 6th book is the best in the series then it will be worth it though

I'm reading...
Infidel-Dekker
Blade of Fire-Hill
The Last Sin Eater-Rivers
Ranger's Apprentice #4-Flanagan
The Krytos Trap-Stackpole
The Gammage Cup- Kendall
War and Peace- Tolstoy
I'm at least a few chapters into each of those, and those are just the ones I can think of at the moment. They're all really good.

Right now I'm into The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, which is not SF/fantasy. Just prior to that, however, I read through The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion; before those, I read Peter and the Starcatchers and Peter and the Shadow Thieves by Dave Barry & Ridley Scott. Good stuff, that.

I finished the naked empire, the 8th sword of truth book a few weeks ago. It was good. Goodkind can get a bit heavey handed with the politics and philosophy at times. If you've read this far into the series, you know that. The series is definitely building to something big. I decided to wait untill after i read the new star wars book to pick up sword of truth again. I want to read the last three books in it uniterupted. I have been reading a lot of DC comics to pass the time between novels.

Well, after giving up on Tolkien's The Hobbit for about the fifth time now, I'm reading David Weber and John Ringo's March Upcountry. The cover does look terrible, but it's actually quite entertaining for science fiction. Rather well done, considering the premise.
