As far as I know, "millennium hand and shrimp" means precisely zilch. It's just one of Pratchett's signature phrases.

Okay, "Millennium hand and shrimp" bedeutet nichts. tongue (Apologies if my German's off, I don't learn it.)

has anyone read The Wee Free Men?? The Nac Mac Feebles are quite funny.

No, but they're in Carpe Jugulum and they're hilarious. I especially like their insane legal documents - "A race six inches high can write very small print".

Stereotype, but in a wild and crazy way. Pratchett's student wizards are basically magic geeks, his young vampires are sort of inverse-goths (staying up till gone noon, wearing brightly coloured clothes and calling yourself Tracy) and the barbarian heroes are mostly geriatric (go Genghiz Cohen! grin ). Pratchett includes every fantasy ingredient there is, but somehow they don't come out the same the other end.
