I found this one probably to be the slowest book so far, but the ending in this one is extremely intense. The last 200 pgs are just amazing. Hope you enjoy.

I just picked up Night of Knives by Esselmont since I couldn't find Midnight Tides at the bookstore. Is it any good?

I thought Midnight Tides was very good.
I can't find the Esselmont books anywhere, in the bookstores by my house. I will probably have to order them.

I finished Night of Knives - I really enjoyed the Temper parts, especially when he's reflecting on Dassem, who I haven't heard much about up until now. Kiska was hit and miss, but when she ran into
Tayschrenn
hers got more interesting.
Liked the different take on Kellanved, Dancer and Surly, but I'm still unsure what's really going on between the three of them.

I finally got a chunk of time to read...
The lat section of Toll the Hounds...all I can say is....WOW.
The book started slow...but I will say this...Erikson's last 150 pages of every one of his books are about as good as anything out there today. This guy can build to a climax like not many out there today!
I can't wait for the next book.

The good thing about Erikson is that we only have to wait a year TILL the next one. That man writes so fast. Unlike say GRRM......

:
Is it confirmed that there are only two books left in the series...at least from Erikson??
I know Esselmont is writing his books, but this is a series I do not want to end!

There are only going to be two left in the Book of the Fallen sequence yes... However Erikson has said that he will be writing other books in the Malazan world. What they will be about and the time frame of the plot I have no idea.......

That is good news, but I could read about this current bunch of characters forever...
Also, do you know how many books ICE is writing?
I hope Erikson writes some stories in the future events after the book of the fallen sequence, and also writes about the past...Andii, Jaghut wars etc...

I am getting upset because SE is not going to end some of the characters arcs by the end of the 10 books. ICE is going to do some of them and for us of those in the States it is hard to get his books.
