Best week of the year, IMO. New Booster Gold, Green Lantern, JLA Wedding Special, JSA, Thor and Legacy. Should have some thoughts up soon, I'm super stoked to go to the comic shop tomorrow.

What's with Walking Dead lately? This is the third issue in the past 4 weeks. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. It'd just be nice to have some consistency since before that we went like a month and a half without a single issue.

Wow, get Thor if your not reading it. It's a handful of amazing.
Glad to see another legacy came out, I've yet to read it but the cover looks really sweet with an old ewan ob1.

The Marvel List:
New Avengers #34 (The Trust Part 3):
It's a shame the art is so Godawful because this was actually a really good little issue here. Seeing "who they really are" was the highlight, and also to find out that Luke and Jessica's child was named Danielle, after Danny Rand, Iron Fist was a definite highlight. I suspect Strange is a Skrull, since all he's done since joining the NA is do "Hey everyone is cool!" spells. Could be wrong, but just a hunch. But man, that art drags this down. I'll be glad when Yu leaves (although he's going to Secret Invasion which is slightly disappointing). 6/10
Thor #3 (Everything Old is New Again):
Let me start this by saying I loves me some Coipel. While I overall disliked House of M, his art was a definite highlight of that event and it continues to be so here. Obviously the main focus of this issue was the Iron Man/Thor fight, and it does not disappoint. Thor very clearly owns Stark in every way possible and he only is allowed to leave at Thor's discretion. I loved how Stark was all high and mighty at the start but by the end was trying to weasel his way out of a further whuppin'. We also get our first returning Asgardian, it's not the one I want to see, namely Loki, but at least this puppy is starting to roll finally. Still a bit slow, and I get the feeling the Iron Man fight was included to show that at least something is going on, but a solid title all around. 8/10
A Galaxy Far, Far Away...:
Star Wars: Legacy #16 (Claws of the Dragon Part 3):
Morrigan sure looks good for her age, don't she? All kidding aside, it's an interesting development that she and Cade's crew are teaming up now to rescue Cade from the Sith. I'm anxious to see if this is a lasting development. But of course the highlight is the Obi-Wan flashback, and that does not disappoint. It's presented in a way that is totally believable in character when he interacts with Hett and also in terms of continuity (what with him doing anything to protect the Lars' homestead. And at one point it looks like he FORCE PUSHES OFF HETT'S ARM. I know Jan has said he sliced it off, but I'm still keeping it as Force Push since that is the most badass thing ever. And I actually felt bad for Talon, the way Cade messed with her. He's a bad dude, yo. Star Wars' flagship comic continues to deliver! 9/10
Star Wars: Rebellion #10 (The Ahakista Gambit Part 5):
I'm not going to lie. Rebellion is the least interesting of the four current Star Wars titles for me. So that really tempers my thoughts for this issue. Sure, it has an end and it's a relatively surprising ending, but I just don't really care. There's nothing WRONG with this title, it just doesn't seem to serve any real purpose. Star Wars for the sake of Star Wars, it seems like. If you enjoyed this arc so far, you'll probably enjoy the end. But otherwise, it's just kinda blah. 4/10
Countdown to Infinite Crisis' on Multiple Worlds At War III:
Justice League of America: Wedding Special #1 (Injustice League Unlimited Part 1):
For a wedding special, this had actual little to do with the wedding, rather it is like an #0 for Dwayne McDuffie's run. In fact, he even imitates Meltzer's use of picking a group through photos and the chest shots of the supposed Injustice League's "big three". But really, it's a fun little comic. I could have done without some of the camp-y elements The Hall of Doom, Lex? Really? but overall it's a great set up for his run on the main title and manages to feature as much or more action than Meltzer's entire run did. Color me optimistic for the McDuffie JLA era! 8/10
Green Lantern #23 (The Sinestro Corps War Part 6: Broken Laws):
What else has to be said about the Sinestro Corps War? Currently the best story DC is publishing and probably the best it has published in years. Ivan Reis' is the perfect artist for this title, bringing a great sense of visuals throughout. The actions of the Guardians at the end will surely reverberate throughout the GLC for years to come, but first we have to be more concerned with the SC making their move not at the center of the universe (Oa) but at the center of the Multiverse (Earth). Remember, they ARE being fueled by the Anti-Monitor after all. If you're not buying this story, I can't stress enough how awesome this is. On any other week this would be Book of the Week, but as I'll get to, there was something a bit better. As it were, though: 9/10
Black Adam: The Dark Age #2:
Ah, so THAT's how Faust could be running around in JLA... Another solid effort, as Adam's quest to revive Isis' hits a snag, but he could be back on the path to returning his love by the end. I imagine this series will feature at least one gross-out moment in each issue, as did the first issue and now this one (and no, I won't tell you what that is). Currently the second best thing to come out of 52, Black Adam is a success. 8/10
Justice Society of America #9 (Thy Kingdom Come Prologue):
Power Girl gets the focus in this issue, which is mostly a breather issue and a bridge from "The Lightning Saga" to the next major story "Thy Kingdom Come". And for what it is, it's quite nice. Wildcat v. Wildcat (hell, there are like four Green Lanterns, why not two Wildcat's after all, heh) was a lot of fun, as was seeing Citizen Steel playing cook. Starman also plays a huge role in this issue, helping to bring forward our surprising new guest on the last page (well not much of a surprise if you've seen the cover to #10, but I digress). Geoff Johns simply gets the JSA, and we're all the better for it. 9/10
Countdown #33 (Let's Make a Deal):
*Sigh* I want to like Countdown, I really do. I loved 52, and I've seen flashes of honest good stuff here in this title. But this issue went back to that kind of blah I had from earlier issues. The highlight continues to be Piper and Trickster, espicially "MINDWIPE!" Hilarious. But the Challengers stuff doesn't interest me at all, and how exactly can Kyle be here if he's off being Parallax? And the Mary story just keeps moving along. No Holly Robinson stuff this week at least. 4/10
BOOK OF THE WEEK: Booster Gold #2 (52 Pick-Up Chapter 2: Leggo My Ego):
Remember when I said Black Adam was the second best thing spinning out of 52? Welcome to the first. It's so easy to root for Booster, and as such I find I care more about him as a character than I do practically any other. Plus this issue had so many highlights, from Skeets the Manhunter (!) to Booster Gold inadvertedly founding the Sinestro Corps to the whole confrontation with Sinestro. Plus how Booster got Sinestro to turn away was totally in character for both (watch out for those damn Accordians!) If you ever liked DC comics, this is the title for you. Continuity heavy maybe but not in a way that is harmful to the story and is used in fact in a really fun way. Awesome, awesome, awesome. 10/10
So, waste of time or does anyone actually want to read these? Are they great, do they suck, or in the middle?

That was actually pretty good 'Tain. I'm pretty much the same, but I'd rate Thor lower because I don't care much for it other then the art and the iron man fight, NA lower because I hate the story, and Countdown higher because I love the challenger story.

I'm taking NA more in the context of "was this a good issue" instead of it's place in the larger "The Trust" story. And overall, I enjoyed it. Had the art been halfway decent it probably would have been an 8 or so...
