So, what do you think of the titles from this new indie company started by many former Star Wars alumni so far?

Me, I've found Atomic Robo to be about my most favorite thing ever. "I used my violence on them." And I sincerely hope it continues beyond the first 6 issues.

Abyss's first issue was amusing, though I'm still waiting to get the 2nd issue in. Looking forward to where it goes.

Midknight has an interesting mix between it's art style and it's very real-world feeling. Plus it has a hockey game and a Jay & Silent Bob cameo, so hard to go wrong there wink The first issue left me interested in seeing where it goes, though it didn't grab me as much as the other R5 titles I've read so far.

I'm waiting on getting Neozoic in so I haven't yet read that series, or Afterburn (which I'm actually not sure if the first issue has even come out yet).

I feel kind of bad. I know these are star wars guys, one of them, scott, was even involved with tfn for a while, but with the number of comic books out their made by proven people, i find it difficult to justify spending money on any of red 5's products. Perhaps once a few issues come out, i'll see which series is best regaurded and give it a shot. hell maybe i'll get a more lucrative job and have more to spend on comics, so i'll be able to risk trying more new stuff.

Anyway, with the comics market being the way it is, i see these guys have a real uphill babttle.

At least the reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, and Atomic Robo hit a second printing already, so it's at least a good start. i do hope they can continue to put out the same level of quality product and maintain the sales needed for their success.

Well now that I've been relieved of my desire to buy most spider-man books from marvel, maybe i'll give atomic robo a try.

Atomic Robo Volume 2 announced!!!

"In a lot of the recent reviews of Red 5 titles, we’ve seen people saying, “I wish this was an ongoing series rather than a limited series.” Well, guess what? ALL of the Red 5 titles are open ended and will continue on if the readers demand it. And as proof of that, Atomic Robo Volume 2 will debut in 2008!"

grin applause dancing dancing dancing applause grin

Also, Atomic Robo #1's 2nd printing just shipped this week, so people should be able to finally find a copy if you missed out on it.

Also, a bit late, but even Robo spreads some holiday joy via his violent science...
