Writer Arthur C Clarke dies at 90
He was my favorite author for a significant portion of my life. I have read tens of his books and loved them all. He was truly a gift and will be remembered as one of the greats.

RIP, Arthur C. Clarke.
He was a brilliant author. We have to shed a few tears for the man who brought us 2001: A Space Odyssey...

I can still remember reading The Star and The 9 Billion Names of God in my 10th grade Sci-fi, Horror and Mystery Fiction Writing class and realizing then that I wanted to be a writer. I am truly shaken by his passing.

He was, for a long time, one of my favourite authors. It was sad to hear of his death, but I'm reminded what he once wrote in a letter to Locus about another person who had died in his nineties also: One shouldn't mourn someone who had lived so long and seen so much to come true of the things he had himself dreamed and written about. (This is, of course, anything but a direct quote.)

Never read any of his books but I used to be a manager at Books A Million and I remember seeing his books.

He was an amazing author, who, in retrospect, was a genius seer of what the future held. He was a brilliant man. The world will miss him and his ideas.

2001, Rendezvous with Rama and Childhood's End literally blew up my mind back then when I was finishing high school...
I still remember spending hours drawing the interior design of Rama to get a better understanding of what was happening.
