There's only so much show left and a lot of other loose ends to tie up...
Maybe I'm wrong though...

Again though if Gaeta was a Cylon from the beginning and he's always known that he was a Cylon, he wouldn't have necessarily heard the music. You'll notice that Sharon didn't come running when it was playing. I think the sound was created just to activate the last Cylons who were still undercover.

But this raises the bigger question.....
.....who programmed the First Cylon?.....and where/when?

It is a bigger question, but I'm not sure it's a relevant one to the plot.
I think they are going to find in their searching that this simply a cycle they are playing through...it's like an evolutionary ring...that will end with either human or cylon as the last one's standing, and they will create the other again...
Cylon's win...they achieve perfect organic replication...and humanity is reborn to make the struggle.
Humans win...cylons are made after enough time and wounds have past.
It is the nature of each to distrust the other while the impulse to create the other is embedded to deep to ignore.
Knowing how the cycle all began might be a nice toss out to the fans...but it doesn't change the fact that all this suffering is, in fact, the natural process of death/rebirth...which is the truth they all want to be untrue...they want to know that they are unique and destined creatures of their gods...purposely pursuing something to explain it all and justify their faith.
I think this will end up empty...but the "refuge" from the cycle...Earth...will prove out...and it will be a santuary against the march of fate...it will be a haven for the self-determined.

I mentioned that in an earlier post a couple of pages back, but I still think we're going to learn how it all started, or at least all the events since Kobol.
To do anything else would be a cop-out for Ron Moore, and would leave too many unanswered questions for fans.
Peace,

The question I have is how will Tory explain how she came into posession of the baby while Cally is out the airlock?
While you might be able to talk someone bent on suicide/infanticide to hand the child over to you, it's a difficult to explain how once they did, you walked away and allowed them to complete the suicide.

Book: It's not about… making sense. It's about believing in something. And letting that belief be real enough to change your life. It's about faith. You don't fix faith, River. It fixes you.

Eh.. it will be easy enough for Tory to say the baby was outside the blast doors or some lame excuse. People will be so happy that the baby is not dead too that they will likely lap it up.
Now what I am curious to see is if Tory sees this as a opportunity to make a move in on the chief in his grief, and play the "well were both cylons too" this makes sense card. Maybe i am reading to much but they have dolled her up to be very twisted all of a sudden... it would be kinda fun in a train wreck kind of way to see this unravel.

Where did all this Tory/Chief stuff come from?
Did I miss a secret crush "moment" somewhere?

Again, I could be miss-reading it, but her lack of caring at Cally's outburst in the bar, and her more than personnel touch with the chief make me suspicious. Just like in pulp fiction, "a foot massage is not just a foot massage." Tory's words about her liking everything being "new", and being open to change all the while stroking his elbow in a way i would consider more than a caring friend or counselor.
I am re-watching it again, and I feel pretty safe in saying she may have more than lets be friends on her mind.

Another thought, while re-looking at the Tory scene i skipped back ti the flash of Kara's flashback of the area of space she remembers.
Maybe I am insane again, but loop that segment only and look at the third sun, the one thats lower right, nearer to the "gas giant".
two things to notes:
1) It looks to me that it's boundaries overlap the gas giant. meaning that the third "sun" is close to the gas giant. this combined with the "perceived" closeness of the comment (note the word perceived) makes me think this glowing object is 'too' close to the planet to be a sun. note the speed of the comet, sure things in space move quickly... but again the speed of the comet seems to dictate to the viewer they are close to a large planet.
2) Look at the corona (halo, wisps of light) around the third object. Now it seems to me that it is moving very quickly. if this were a "sun" it seems to me that for its to small, in total image comparison to the rest of the objects displayed in kara's vision. the gas giant would have to be *ludicrous* in size....or its not a sun at all.
I am leaning towards not a sun at all. get a copy if the episode and run that vision in a loop... tell me what you think?

See, I was just under the impression that her morality is draining away with her humanity...the crying as Baltar was going to town was probably the final tipper.
Unlike the others who hold out to Being human, while being Cylon, she's taking it as the escape from humanity...apparently a humanity she found shattered by the revelation.
I think she may be playful...increasingly promiscuous, including with the chief...perhaps if she can seduce him, she can help him overcome his lingering human sentiments...and I think that's part of why Cally got vacced...not because Tory wants Cally's spot...but because Cally threatened a path Tory has the 4 set on.
I think a "Cylon in love", Tory is not.
Probably find out more in a few hours though.

If it bears out, I will give the creators new props for being exacting in their imagery for space.
but let's remember that this is a entertainment medium...and those things aren't always accurate.
The arguments I've had over the spinning "galaxy" at the end of ESB make me critical of taking anything of that nature at face value.

THAT is a angle I did not consider. Excellent point. And it makes the topic of their conversation about "Change and identity " spot on. nicely put.

Yeah, I am pretty sure at this point Kara needs to be looking for a Binary star system with a gas giant... not a Trinary. But you are right to point out that it would not be the 1st time writers have fudged physics *just a pinch*.

I was so hoping when Roslin told Baltar to look her in the eyes, we'd see the red scanner!
___________
Baltar isn't going to stop until he get's booted from the fleet.
Somehow he's going to play go between for the hidden 4 to one of the sides of Cylons.
I am stunned that there was NOTHING concerning the Cylons this week.
and the Tigh/Six garbage was a complete waste of time...ugh...as usual, the character rejects any growth whatsoever.
