I have a strong hunch: if Roslin dies before the season is over, Lee becomes President. Don't know why, but I think it has to do with the lack of Zarek in these episodes, and I almost think he'd give it to Lee. Just a hunch, but I don't think she's going to make it.
___
Here's another frakked up question: How come Roslin doesn't know that Tori is hanging out and frakking Blater? That has to have hit the rumor mill by now.
___
And that was quite a scene. Specialist Tyrol. Woops! Guess he shouldn't have told off the old man, eh?
___
Tigh didn't impress me much either. And I'm sad to say, I'm not overly impressed with the season so far. I know they are trying to tie it all together and finish well, but it feels like drudgery at times. Not the best season, IMHO.

I think what's going to happen here is that all the good stuff is going to happen in episodes 7-10, and then the final half, which we're going to have to wait for.
It definitely looks like the first half of the first season is going to be slow....unfortunately.
.....but, it pays off if it picks up in pace later on.
Peace,

Will post more later when I have time, but a few thoughts:
- Aaron Douglas did a fantastic job this week. His scene with Adama at the bar was insane. As if seeing Cally's frozen body last week wasn't bad enough, now her memory is being dragged through the mud.
- Man. This season is fracking bleak. Something positive needs to happen to someone, soon.
- I thought this was a pretty good episode, but it sorta had a "Oh, ****. We're doing 22 eps now, instead of 13?"-thing going on. Just kinda stretched out. Still good, though. And every episode, more and more, I want to kick Baltar in the teeth. Then again, he got a couple of rifle-butts to the face. So he kinda got what was coming to him.
- The way it was shot, it sure looked like something invisible was holding him up in front of the guard, rather than him simply imagining Six was doing it. And the look Six gave Tory as Baltar finished his sermon...I think there's definitely something more there than just an hallucination.
- I think this episode was very subtle in its goals -- Tigh is looking to Six to find out how Cylon emotions work. Does he want to "turn off" his sorrow over killing his wife? Or does he now cherish the fact that he can feel remorse and other emotions (e.g., the beating-scene in the cell), as it allows him to cling to his humanity?
- I'm still trying to figure out what Lee's response to the whole thing was. Is he going to become a religious convert? Is he going to regret what he did? I just find that, at the end of each episode, I seem to know less and less where the show is headed (Earth?). And if they can tie it all up, I'll be very impressed.
- I'll admit I do wish that the second, Imaginary Suave-Ass Baltar were around more, though. After his brief appearance before, I thought he might be sticking around more. And I'd like to have seen more on the results from last episode in the Cylon world.
- Will we get more scenes of Kara and Sam playing "Rape," next episode?
- And the Chief is apparently bald-headed next week. Meltdown continues!

Baltar isn't going to stop until he get's booted from the fleet.
Somehow he's going to play go between for the hidden 4 to one of the sides of Cylons.
I am stunned that there was NOTHING concerning the Cylons this week.
and the Tigh/Six garbage was a complete waste of time...ugh...as usual, the character rejects any growth whatsoever.
It was weird to watch..BUT I would digress just a scootch... the fact that Tigh is REALLY talking to Six (despite his loathing of her, then himself) ... is some progress. At least he realizes his situation is not going to change to the way he wants it, and is seeking some sort of council. Even it if is from the slightly broken captive Six.
After Torys creepy screw humanity and morals speech earlier, the chief fracked in the head and Anders off with Kara ... its his only real link to who he is as a physical being... and he IS looking for answers. I don't think he knows What he is looking for. But he IS looking.
I liked it. not the assbeating or weird makeout session... but the rest was hot for me.
Cheers!
PS I like the scene with Roslin basically telling balter, "you stir it up I will airlock you like I did the last two guys that annoyed me"..and it wont matter one spit since I am dying much sooner than everyone knows.
ps ps Yeah I can see balter leaving galactica VERY soon. As for a liaison? I dunno. Its very possible since we have not dealt with the 3 ambushed basestars yet. If there are survivors (which i totally expect 1 ship to be able to jump away at the other twos destruction). I could see it more as a refuge though... with them believing in the one cylon god, it may be possible that Gyus, the broken six and his cult may make a break for the escaped basestar if it shows up trailing the fleet like i suspect it will. Or.. I could be totally off

Anyone else think Gaius will get a Basestar? Along with all his groupies? It'll be one great big frakathon, if he does. By your command.
I'm wondering if they will be payinghomage to that part of the OS, where he had a basestar. With the cylons killing eachother now, anything is possible? Right?

The last thing the fleet needs is a bunch of cultists paying homage to their Imperious Leader, or some other grandiose title. Besides, he has already spent enough time hanging around basestars in season 3.

Anybody have any idea where they are in filming the final episodes?
The reason I'm asking is it's beginning to look like the studios and moguls are going to force a SAG strike, and their contract expires at the end of June. A very reliable blog who reported on the WGA Strike posted a column about how the studios are basically going to walk away from talks until mid-July unless the SAG accepts the same deal as the WGA/DGA did, and basically dare them to strike.
I'm praying they finish up BSG before any of that nonsense happens. Another work stoppage would kill the show.

On another note, anybody else watch it on download instead of TV? I have Verizon Fios (I LOVE it!) and that's how I've been watching this entire season, since my VCR cut out in the middle of the first episode.
Peace,

If I remember right, the 2nd half of the season was supposed to start filming about the time the first half started to air, so about 3 weeks ago. I don't know how much more they've got to do, but I think they may be done before a strike would happen.....
Then again, I'm not a Hollywood insider, so what do I know....

I guess the question is, will they be done before June 30?
Next week's episode looks like things are finally starting to get interesting....

Most shows take about a week to film a single episode, so if they resumed filming 3 weeks ago, it would seem they have enough time to fit in 10 weeks of filming before the SAG deadline.

I usually just watch them on Sci-Fi.com the next day.

I try to watch them in the following order:
1) typically someone posts a east coast timezone in hidef. I they do I download and watch that since comcast doesn't have sci-fi in hi-def.
2) watch live, its in sd format but at least my tivo hasn't ruined the image by compressing it again.
3) wait till the next day and download the hi-def episode.
BUT, since I am really into re-watching the episodes to run back through the fun bits I end up downloading them anyways .

I'm a latecomer to BSG...and I wish this wasn't the last season. Although I can see why in the scheme of things they would want to end the show while their "ahead."
My overall reaction after watching the past few episodes is that Tory is insanely Cylon-crazed. I hope see meets a bitter end soon.
Next week looks to be another great episode! Too bad Scifi.com won't be streaming it live earlier. Err.

I'd like to see a nice train wreck of a death really maybe thats my S&M evil side sneaking out of session, but I could see her going right off the deep end and killing LOTS of people and going down in flames. Personally I think episodes 7-10 are where we are going to see her die as the show ramps up for what I expect to be a roller coaster ending.
The only thing is... there is a HUGE out for her. If Baltar does in fact leave Galactica, she will go with him (and I suspect Six will end up going as well). If she *does* we may see her right up to the end of the season. In that circumstance I'd love to see Six and Tory go for it in a battle royal female cylon style over Baltar and his outcome.
But again... we will have to see! (I hate waiting!)

Heres a random thought that creeped into my head last night.
What if the #1's, The Cavils, have been lobotomizing more than the raiders? The #1's are adamant that the hidden 5 are to never be found. What if this is because the final 5 signal the end of the cylon way of life (for good or bad)... and his model cannot handle that?
What are the chances he has been tampering with the less than logical models to avoid the hidden 5's purpose or discovery?
His boxing of the 3's was pretty dramatic. And roughshod.
Maybe he hasn't been tinkering with the models like the raiders. But I wonder if the #1's are aware of the final 5's purpose (or has a good idea) and he is unable to accept it because of his models design and adherence to logical solutions?
