Esai was awesome in Jericho!!! I'm thrilled to see that casting choice!!! Caprica just went up a couple of notches with that casting alone. Very exciting!

I know it's going to rock.
Here's to hoping that SciFi/NBC Universal doesn't exercise their legendary boneheadedness and not pick it up as a series.
Peace,

Baltar is the hope...both in the universe and to the viewer...now is this a redemption of his character...not necessarily...but it does focus our attention on his plot because suddenly Baltar is the only character with any clarity of purpose.
Now it all might spin again...but right now, "belief" is making Baltar an admirable character to those in universe (except for Roslin...but she's tyrannical and insane anyway.)
I disagree.
In fact, I'd say that Baltar's philosophy is psychotic, saying “I am perfect” despite the things I do. It follows within Baltar's philosophy that no action is morally wrong. Baltar represents a false hope.

Also, Paula Malcomson, Trixie from Deadwood, will be the female lead on Caprica. Hopefully she'll treat us to lines like, "Five cubits for a straight frack, seven cubits for an assfrack."

Like I said at the top of the page .
What did people think of last night's episode?
The Hybrid basically came out and told them that the Final Five came from Earth.
Did the Cylons come from the Thirteenth Colony originally, or did they just end up there after the exodus from Kobol? Since I think that the Final Five are actually the "first" five, that raises some rather interesting questions.....
Peace,

Collecting my thoughts, here, but simply put, this was a tremendous episode. The most compelling of the season so far, and the best overall effort since Razor.
If they can keep this kind of "forward momentum" going over the course of the final 14 episodes, then this last season has a chance to fulfill the promise of excellence established by the first two seasons and Razor.
I had to rewind and replay the Hybrid's message a couple times trying to figure it out what I thought she said (re: that the Final Five originate from Earth itself), and assumed it was a mystery that would last a few episodes, only to have them explain their take on it ten minutes later... Some really intense stuff. I totally grooved on the way Anders thought about sticking his hand into the water to communicate with the Hybrid, just as the other Cylons do, but couldn't do it (or perhaps more accurately, he was about to, but got interrupted?).
Then when Six and Eight figure that the Hybrid's message is that D'Anna can identify the Final Five, who can lead them to Earth, as they run off to unbox her, it was clear that Anders was thinking and worrying about the fact that he'll finally be unmasked soon. It's gonna happen.
The only question is when, not if, and whether his wife will deliver on her bullet-to-the-head promise or not. He's clearly sweating this, especially after that mutiny attempt, which increasingly looks likely to have cost Gaeta his leg. That act isn't going to go down well in his favor with the rest of the Colonials once the big reveal finally happens. Nor will Tory's murder of Cally.
They clearly need to get some sort of handle on things, and soon, because the Hidden Four know in their heart-of-hearts that they can't stay hidden forever. Tyrol's behavior is growing increasingly erratic, and may lead to another similar incident before too long, but so far Tigh's been the only one walking the relative straight-and-narrow (unless you count the S&M beatdown-sessions with Caprica Six in the brig...with Six being the "top," and Tigh the "bottom").
When Adama and Roslin finally learn of the Hidden Four, they're gonna need as many marks in their "Why We Shouldn't Get Spaced" column as they can get.
Also intense: that the particular Six couldn't get past the fact that the ex-resistance fighter Barolay had once killed her, exacted her own revenge, then herself was executed by Natalie for it. A complicated balancing act the Cylons on her side are attempting to maintain, here. A part of me was wondering if that was show for the humans, and then I remembered that there was no Resurrection Ship nearby.
The Cylon civil war seems to be wreaking some measurable havoc.
Also, did anyone else catch Baltar quoting "To be or not to be," in last night's ep? As Roslin heads over to Nana Visitor's bed for the first time, you can hear him saying, "I'm talking about when we have shuffled off this mortal coil...the undiscovered country from whose borne no traveler returns."
And now a Basestar shows up. I'm assuming the Demetrius will jump first to the fleet, and tell them what's following behind. Otherwise, there will be some seriously-jumpy people in CIC...
More thoughts later on when I have the time, but this episode was a major return to form for the show.

Two things: Yeah, I noticed the Shakespeare quotes by Baltar. Most intriguing. Secondly, that was Nana Visitor?! She's changed a hell of a lot since DS9!!

Yeah, they took that **** off her nose ....
In an old blog, RDM commented that he and the writers originally wanted to shoot a scene showing the hidden four at Woodstock, but decided that they wouldn't have the time to properly explain it during the fourth season, so they dropped the idea.
Looking more and more like the Five originated from Earth. Wonder how this all fits in with the probe, and the nebula, and their activation there, and what-not.....
Peace,

I have a theory that the Final Five are the last remnants of the first Cylons built, possibly from a similar Cylon resurrection on Earth many many many moons ago. And that they have travelled with humanity since then, and when the 12 Lords of Kobol were around, they were 5 of them, and the other 7 didn't survive the catastrophes on said planet...

Best episode of the season since the opener. What a mindgame! Good discussion so far, I'm not quite sure what I think. But it was definitely fun.

God, i was screaming at my TV... Do It! Damit Do it!!! Let the Hybrid know your on the fraking ship!!!! Do it!Do it!Do it!... That would have been a fun scene... Oh by the way one of the final five just interfaced with me and i know all now.. I am wondering if the other part of the cryptic message means JUST THAT. that the final five "know the way to earth". I am betting its genetic encoding that will be revealed by interfacing with a cylon or a hybrid.

Oh hell yeas, but here is the nugget. What are the 4 going to do to prevent it THATS what I want to see.
Leto II posted: The only question is when, not if, and whether his wife will deliver on her bullet-to-the-head promise or not. He's clearly sweating this, especially after that mutiny attempt, which increasingly looks likely to have cost Gaeta his leg.
Na... shes in love with Anders and her personal Cylon spiritual guide. She will kick the living crap out of him.. but she wont kill him.

I think it was a pivotal experience for Anders, and one he needed to have. Note if you re-watch it, look at his utter horror after the other Six snaps her neck in a mercy killing AND a balancing act of attrition. He is (to me)Torn by this. two minutes ago he would blown her brains out. But then he listens to her story and realizes the how broken and "human" she sounds... only to again come back to his own cylon/human conflicts, and doubts... big doubts about himself? and maybe the nature of the conflict in the world itself ... and inside himself.
If I had money to bet, Anders will help Kara overcome her own conflicted Cylon hatreds and bias by giving her insight to himself.
fun stuff
it was a great episode... to bad we still don't have a explanation about Kara's journey and what I believe to be the involvement of a third party (SOL). But I bet thats way later in season 4.5... /sigh/ another effing year ??? really ???

I am really looking forward to Kara's explanation to the old Man about Geata... a Mutiny... and oh while were on the topic theres a slightly mauled base star that would like to join our quest for the earth.
He aught to pop a cork... should be REALLY entertaining.
