I'm guessing that the final battles are of the rebel Cylon and humanity against the rest of the Cylon.
As for the fifth Cylon, I'm guessing that it really is Roslin, and that Deanna was telling the truth when she told Laura she was a Cylon. Then Deanna realized that Laura didn't know, or decided it'd be to her advantage, and stopped there. Also, Ron L. Moore is a liar.

Its not Roslin. Moore has said from day one that Roslin's not a Cylon.

At this point, I think they could say the final Cylon was anyone and I would accept it.

My thoughts exactly from the last page. The big question remains, who were the Lords? I like the idea that humans and Cylons start over, perhaps on Earth, reminiscent of humans and "the gods" living together, but I still want to know about the Lords/BOL.
Also, I still think Earth is where life began, not Kobol. Kobol is likely a colony of Earth.
Roslin ain't the final Cylon. I think it would ruin her character, although we know Cylons can get sick (ie, Anders with pneumonia on New Caprica).
Peace,

Yeah I think its a bygone conclusion that the "War", which by the way I am soooooooooo looking forward to MASSIVE fleet battles and dog fights.
I think i agree with the following:
--Most of the operational fleet will either be forced to ground or crash.
--The Battle will be for all the marbles, a massive all out last ditch fight. Loser = extinct VS the remaining non-rebel models.
--The 'lords' of Kobal.. will be the leaders of each remaining clan/tribe. 12 human / 1 cylon.
--Interbreeding will blend the species.
--history will be lost.
--technology improves.
--oh look robotic helpers!
What I want to know is... what will the final 5 / number 6 baby will be like !?

One thing I want to see in the last half is exploration of how normal people are taking the alliance- its always bothered me that all the major character seems perfectly willing to ally with the same beings who brutally murdered 20 billion people. I mean, most of the Cylons seem to look at the Destruction of the Colonies like we would look at spilling a glass of water.

One small piece of bad news:
Talks between the SAG and the moguls have been temporarily halted, raising the real possibility of an actor's strike.
This could potentially affect the final added hour of the BSG finale, although more likely it would slow down Caprica and the proposed TV movie more than the last ten episodes, the finale of which is being wrapped up as we speak (although the "extra" footage has yet to be filmed).
Hopefully, a deal will be reached. The WGA has is putting a lot of pressure on the SAG not to hold out on new media and copy the agreement reached with them and DGA.
We'll have to see what happens.
Peace,

According to Grace Park, the first BSG movie of the next projected triptych, penned by Weddle and Thompson, and directed by Edward James Olmos, starts shooting in August.
(...Assuming the whole SAG-strikeage donnybrook doesn't go down, obviously.)
Galactica Sitrep is reporting that the film will focus upon "three core characters" (possibly Cylons), and that offers are currently on the table for the actors in question.
If a movie does come into being, the first one will be penned by Weddle and Thompson, who also [wrote] the mid-season premiere ["Sometimes A Great Notion"] that airs in early 2009.
"It would go back into history to tell part of the story that has never been told," Weddle said [of the telemovie]. "We have very definite ideas of what that story would be. I think it will be very cool and fans will really like it. It won't add any new chapters, but it will enrich their sense of depth and texture."
Will any of the potential next three movies give us more Young Billy A. during the First Cylon War kicking Toaster ass, with a toupée-ed Saul Tigh lurking in the background? The problem with this scenario might lie in the nature of Caprica's so-called "limited run" status, which could then hypothetically segue way into a full-on First Cylon War weekly series of some type.
Oh...and Billy Keikaya damn near came back from the dead in "The Hub."

Following links from your links, it looks like the series is done filming.
Since no strike can be called for at least two weeks, the end of Battlestar itself will not likely be affected.
However, I don't want to see the movies and Caprica disrupted. I hope that SciFi won't pull something stupid and delay the final 11 episodes of season 4 just to show a TV movie first that might get delayed by an actor's strike.
It seems like a strike is unlikely, though, from everything that I've read; there is a lot of discord between the two actors' unions.
Peace,
V-03

Yup, they had the series wrap-party last Saturday night at the Vancouver Public Library (cool place, I might add, having visited it about not quite two years ago).
And it looks like Jane Espenson is writing the first BSG flick, with Weddle and Thompson apparently attached to at least one of the other two, according to Galactica Sitrep:
Galactica Sitrep posted: Hi folks...I'm fresh back from my lovely Maine vacation and had to post some updated info from Sitrep sources regarding the first BATTLESTAR GALACTICA TV Movie.
The first of a possible three films is now in development. The studio has reportedly offered a deal to Dean Stockwell, and is interested in making deals with Michael Trucco, Aaron Douglas, Grace Park, Michael Hogan and Katee Sackhoff, among others, for this film.
Jane Espenson will write the script, and as we said recently, Edward James Olmos will be directing.
A Brother Cavil movie.
Frackin' sweetness. Plus Anders, Tyrol, and Tigh, and I'm guessing Evil Boomerâ„¢.
Looks like this one might be exploring the backstory of the "Final Five" mythos in depth. Considering it's a "prequel," and probably won't air until after or during the back 11 or 12 episodes of Season Four, this movie should have some considerable meat to it, in terms of revealing the real story of where they truly come from, how they were inserted into the Twelve Colonies prior to the attacks, et cetera.

The L.A. Times is reporting that Mary McDonnell is a finalist for the Emmy Award for Best Actress in a Dramatic Series nomination:
Patricia Arquette, Medium ( "Aftertaste")
Glenn Close, Damages ("Pilot")
Minnie Driver, The Riches ("Dead Calm")
Sally Field, Brothers and Sisters ("History Repeating")
Mariska Hargitay, Law and Order: Special Victims Unit ("Undercover")
Holly Hunter, Saving Grace ("Tacos, Tulips, Duck, and Spices")
Elisabeth Moss, Mad Men ("The Hobo Code")
Mary McDonnell, Battlestar Galactica ("Faith")
Kyra Sedgwick, The Closer ("Manhunt")
Jeanne Tripplehorn, Big Love ("Take Me As I Am")
We'll find out who makes the cut here in a few weeks, when they announce the Final Five.
Mary's work in "Faith" was simply extraordinary -- great to see that the Academy is recognizing it, even if she is up against some rather stiff competition.

Good for McDonnell, but Mariska is going to end up winning this one this year. Especially given the episode she apparently submitted. It's the one SVU ep I managed to catch this year and she gives an Awesome performance.

All right, so we keep getting these weird, conflicting signals on who's writing the damn movie, who ain't, et cetera...SyFy Portal is now reporting that David Weddle and Bradley Thompson have both left the BSG writing staff, departing the series for a new gig on CSI: Lost Wages:
"When we got the offer, we had to call Ron Moore and ask to be released from the movie," Weddle told SyFy Portal's Michael Hinman. "It was one of the most difficult calls we ever had to make, but Ron made it easy by telling us we should seize this new opportunity."
The two will join the Las Vegas version of CSI on CBS beginning July 7 as writers and supervising producers, a similar role they had with Battlestar Galactica. Because of the new job, they had to withdraw from writing the upcoming Battlestar Galactica movie, instead handing the reins over to popular writer Jane Espenson, as first reported on Galactica Sitrep.
"Jane Espenson has eagerly grabbed the baton, and will write the movie," Weddle confirmed. "We helped the staff outline the plot this week, and this [Thursday] is my final day at Battlestar."
So it looks that those earlier quotes from Weddle and Thompson discussing the film date back from before their decision to quit Battlestar. Got it straight now.
