^I have all seven seasons on DVD. I always watch a bunch at a time. I went through all the Borg and Q episodes in a few days.

Just watched the final episode, All Good Things...I loved it. I liked that they even brought back some older characters and I loved the fact that Picard and Crusher got married (even if they did get divorced in the future time continuom). Then I watched Journey's End, which was, I have to admit, rather silly, but it did give me a good laugh. Seeing Jonathan Frakes go to that Sci Fi convention was pretty amusing, though the man did seem a little full of himself. Ah, it's all good though. So now they are going back to the first season and starting over on G4, and I am afraid I have been spoiled by the wondeful 5th and 6th season I just watched. I can't even remember any of the first season. I was in the seventh grade and used to watch it very sparingly when there was nothing else on ( I didn't realize what I was missing until much later on in life!)

Yeah, seasons 5-7 were the best of the series, over all. I really liked Worf's story progression throughout those seasons. Rewatching them, I didn't realize that some of the trademark sayings, for example "Tea. Earl Gray. Hot", didn't really pick up until the end of the series. I'm currently at the end of Season 6 on DVD, and watching DS9 Season 1 every other episode.. kinda doing a chronological thing.

Everytime I make myself a cup of tea now, which is a good two or three times a day sometimes, I think of Jean Luc saying that, and then I think how nice it would be to have that replicator. raised_brow

I liked Worff way better towards the end too. I had totally forgotten about his and Deanna's relationship until I caught all up on the last season again. I am usually a fan of the Ryker/Troi ship, especially after reading the novel Imzadi, but I found I actually liked her with someone else for a change.

He actually got me to try it. Earl Gray with a little bit of lemon is quite excellent, and I drink it all the time now. Yes, I am a nerd. But talk about a caffeine jolt. Whooo... Yeah, you should try it sometime. happy

I didn't really care too much about the Worf/Deanna thing that started picking up in season 7. I'm with you, I'm a much bigger fan of Troi/Riker. I think if they had gone with a more continual, season long story line (which they purposely did not do) the Troi/Riker thing could have been really good character drama.

I drink my Earl Grey with sugar (Leah Tebring from DaVinci Code would be mortified!), but yeah it is a great picker upper isn't it?

Did you by any chance read any of the novels, particularly Imzadi? They wrote this great backstory to Troi/Ryker, very passionate and turbulent. I wished it was an episode. Actually, I don't know, maybe there is one like that, I haven't watched the earlier seasons again yet.

Besides that, they are one good looking couple, aren't they? blush

They are. happy

Nah... I haven't started checking out ST novels. I'd like to but, hell... I have enough trouble staying on top of SW EU novels. sad And I own all of them. Can't seem to stay dedicated to reading. But I haven't picked one up again since I started modding. My speed reading has increased dramatically since then. mischief wink

I have what an entire library of SW EU books I haven't gotten around to reading, it is horrible isn't it? I have read all of the PT stuff I wanted to read, but now I have to get into the OT stuff, and every time I say I will I go and pick up some other stuff. I have this reading addiction, it is so bad! There is this used bookstore near me that sells everything for a dollar or two and when I see that I just can't resist. I am not sure I will ever catch up!!

Watched First Contact again yesterday, forgot how good it was. My four year old son, about half way through, curled up in my lap and watched the it with me, which was pretty cool. I asked him if he liked it and he said "well, sometimes, it was kinda like Star Wars but I like that better." Funny kid tongue

I think you have to be older to appreciate ST. Well at least for me I had to be. I thought it was cool, but kinda boring as a kid. Give him time, he'll come around.... happy

...in about 20 years or so. tongue

Yeah First Contact is great. I quite liked the TOS movie series, but it was First Contact that got me into TNG, and it just slowly snowballed from there. Like I said earlier, I'm watching everything chronologically right now so I won't see FC until 1/3 of the way through DS9 Season 5/Voyager Season 3 (I think that's right). I hope I can hold out! grin

I kinda wish I had decided to watch them in order too, but I already watched half of season five and all of six...Ah well. I am thinking of delving into some of the other series at some point, though I have to admit I have never been able to get much into the original series. William Shatner just makes me laugh, and everytime I look at him I am reminded of the fact that the Micheal Myers mask was based on his face, it just cracks me up. tongue

So I think tonight they are showing the pilot for TNG, I can't remember seeing that, so that will be good.

And yeah, I never had an appreciation for ST till much later in life either, I didn't really have a true appreciation for SW till much later. Back then I thought the best thing about SW was the Ewoks thinking
