and I'll ask another question JMC..what was Dean Cain's character?
poorly fleshed out...
Who was he?
why was he immortal?
Where did he come from??
The only thing I liked about him...was the Christopher and Dana Reeve.org PSA.
I like Cain, and he was decent in the role; but..the role just didn't do it for me

Dean Cain's character kinda resemble at least to me the Immortal Savage character.

A filler episode? We got a lot of character development for Chloe, as well as a gloomy Chimmy breakup. The only bad part about this episode was Lana's complete uselessness.

Ah but they didn't give us much of anything in it and we still don't even know what all chloe can do. Not to mention who was Dean Cains character suppost to be...does Lex really know about Clark now and was Jimmy and chloe over? Or is it just a bumpy road...Question where's pete...I'd like to see him return to smallville for an eposide or two even

Well, that's why they were sub-plots. I agree that this season is shaping up nicely. I really think we're going to have a story similar to the comics with Supergirl. She's in league with Zod I tell ya...or at least she is ready to be brainwashed by Zod once she finds the Crystal...or perhaps Darkseid. Wouldn't that blow the hell out of Smallville...have Darkseid show up. Of course, I don't think there's a force on Earth that could counter Darkseid at this point. Perhaps J'onn but I doubt that Clark would have much of a chance against a fully deified Darkseid. Hrm....I still think we're going to see "evil" Supergirl once the crystal is located.
Nah, I think Kara is totally innocent. I think that Zor-El or at the very least, Brainiac has had a hand in messing with Kara's mind. I doubt we'd see Darkseid. Brainiac is already confirmed and he's well established in the show's continuity. And J'onn doesn't realize that she is unaware of the full consequences for what Brainiac and Zor-El had in mind.

We know what Chloe can do. She can heal the sick and dying, but it will affect her in the process. Lois was dead, so Chloe gave up part of her life to save Lois. This resulted in her body shutting down for a while until she was restored to life on her own. Knox is just an Immortal figure who lived a long life, but wanted to find a way to cheat death for those he loves. He's not fully evil. Just a man who is desparate and has very questionable morals. Lex doesn't know about Clark's powers as he was knocked unconscious. All he knows is that Clark came to his rescue and thought that he had killed Knox. And yes, Jimmy and Chloe are done as Jimmy says that he cannot be in a relationship if she won't share her secrets with him.
Pete ain't coming back. The writers botched the character in the first season and despite a few good epsiodes afterwards, they never used him correctly. Part of that lies with Chloe, since she fills the role that Pete does in the comics.

He loosely resembles Savage, but is not him. It would be cool if they actually brought Savage in and established that they've known each other since first being granted immortality. I think the only reason he's not called Vandal Savage is because of what his character does in this episode. But the door is open for a return, so I'd say that he might take the name later if they don't introduce Savage as a separate character.

Dean Cain was great. It was nice to have a typical one bad-guy (albeit not a meteor freak) episode where something happens and Clark rushes into save the day.
Lana's secrecy with Clark really makes me like her character. I'm sorry, but I hate perfect Lana that everyone's in love with. When she began to be all evil with Lex it made me happy and feel like her character was doing something in the series, and then the marriage episode happened and I rolled my eyes through my brain. However, I really like how she's being so secretive with him and even lying (like about not having had sex with Jason).
