Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen - Preview
DreamWorks-Paramount Pictures have release the title - Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen - and image to Michael Bay-directed Transformer sequel. The Office's Rainn Wilson is joining the original cast of Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson in Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen.

He has seen several new transformers including a red Acura NSX, a grey and black Audi RS6, and an old looking Chinese ice cream truck with a domed top and ice cream scoop on the roof that he said will split into two twin Autobots. One of the guys who I was standing on the bridge with had seen an ice cream truck like this driving around the set doing what looked like practice runs.

I'm skeptical as to whether or nor that is the real title. Bay said they'd be putting out false info for the sequel and it's still over a year away from coming out.

I can't think of any characters that fit the ice cream truck duo description or capability. I bet that's either misinformation or (speculation) something that came to life from the Allspark fragment ala the Dewformer.

Is Starscream's Reign considered canon in this new TF universe that is developing? I could've sworn I read somewhere that Bay said that Barricade's disappearance would make sense in the second movie

I think it has been said as well that Barricade will be in TF2, to explain how he vanishes, but no news yet on how it'll be done
Spoilers here with pics of the filming plus call sheets confirming a few characters
Also has pictures of the ice cream truck it looks old and junky and has been seen in a few locations next to bumblebee

Remember guys Bay has said that he will be feeding false information into the media about the movie so take any rumours and news with a grain of salt.
I was excited/dismayed last week when it was announced that Jazz would be back, and given the title that seems to be part of the central plot, but I am taking this all lightly as its possibly complete garbage and subterfuge.

Revenge of the Fallen is an odd title.
Who fell? Sure the Decepticreeps got hosed, but Fallen in this sense gives more of a Fallen hero connotation. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it.

Hard to say- they seem to have endorsed the IDW prequel comic, since they psuedo-animated it for the DVD release.
For TROS, though- I get the feeling that the movie's timeframe will be a year or two later, thus skipping over the timeframe of TROS, allowing it to happen off-screen.
Either that or the movie will contradict it and IDW will put out another series retconning the discrepancies, probably.
The Ghosts of Yesterday prequel novel probably isn't canon though- there are a few contradictions between it and the comic prequel and the movie itself.

It's not. The script for the new movie wasn't ready in time for anything about it to be referenced.

The Fallen is actually a character, not sure if they are referring to him though, he has old connections to Unicron and Primus, Primus actually made him, he was one of the first 13 Transformers and the first to go bad, hence his name. He joined Unicron in has quest to destroy the universe.

I think the Fallen is simply referring to Megatron and the like rising again.
Bay did say after the first film came out that he wanted to keep Barricade available for a sequel, as such his death scene was cut. Barricade has been spotted during the filming of TFTM2 by all reports.
Transformers Animated has continued to be enjoyable, if lacking of the main story line. Really enjoyed the transformation of Wasp into Waspinator so to speak.  "And me Grimlock still taller than you.  "

Transformers and Continuity don't really go together in the same sentence  The Bayformers continuity will be just in the movies, though I've been reading the Starscream sequel. It really tip toes around anything juicy and chooses to focus mainly on the Movie Toys that didn't make it to the big screen and retconning Barricade thus far.

Transformers Animated has continued to be pretty good- I also loved the change of Wasp into Waspinator in sat's episode. Not sure I like the implied nature of Shockwave, though- he's more cold nazi scientist with a supped-up reactor in his chest than double agent/spy with extending limbs.
