Yeah, it appears we get our first glimpse at Two-face at 00:2:02 in the new trailer.

Once again, I'm totally blown away by how amazing this movie is looking. I can't wait until July.

Folks are now discussing what...whom...the Joker's dropping off the roof at about 1:56 into the trailer:

Link to spoiler-heavy image.

I think she'll probably wind up as a stain on the street. We've seen Batman leap out of buildings and catch people with the help of his grappling hook that always wraps around something, but I don't think that can happen in the Nolan-world of realism.

In a recent L.A. Times article, Eckhart explains Two Face's motivation: "His fiancée is killed. He's horribly injured," which, when shown with the image of the Joker dropping Rachel, pretty much tells you that Batman ain't gonna save her.

They knew geeks would be scrutinizing every shot in that trailer once it was up in glorious Quicktime. Why they would want to spoil that is beyond me, but between this shot in the trailer and Eckhart's Times interview...I mean, this spoiler was bound to be plastered all over creation before the movie hit theaters. It's not the news sources' fault that the studio, director, and actors want to spoil this.

You know, if this is really a spoiler, and Bats can't catch up, my anticipation just went up even more. Perhaps this is what makes Gotham turn on Batman...who knows? I like that they're going dark. The The Departed trailer gave away Sheen's death big time, and that didn't ruin the movie, or even the scene.

I never really bought that Batman was moping in the tower because Dent got messed up.

Great trailer. Shows the Joker a lot better than the last one did (few awkward voiceovers in this one). Any remaining doubt about his performance is now gone for me. I am 100% sure that he's going to be great.

Also great focus on Harvey Dent. I don't think I've seen Aaron Eckhart in anything before, but he looks very good two.

The trailer does a good job at switching our focus between the immediate threat, and the one forming right before our eyes. This is a good sign for the movie itself.

Falling to your death in the Bat-flicks is the equivalent to getting your arm removed in the Star Wars franchise. If I was in a Batman movie, I'd stay the hell away from heights.

  • Batman '89: Joker, R.I.P.; countless Cathedral Goons, R.I.P.

  • Batman Returns: Catwoman (survived the fall, but ouch); Penguin, R.I.P.; Ice Princess, R.I.P.

  • Batman Forever: Two-Face, R.I.P.; Ed Begley, Jr. (Stickley), R.I.P.; Dick Grayson's parents, R.I.P.

  • Batman Begins: Ra's al-Ghul, R.I.P. (he fell and crashed and blew up)

Favorite part, though, was the exchange between Alfred and Dent:

"Any psychotic ex-boyfriends I should be aware of?"
"...Oh, you have no idea."

Caine can be so awesome when he gives a ****.

Judging from that spoiler above and some past rumors, I wonder What if the Joker/Mob attack Dent's office. Hold Dent down and give him that burning and kidnap Rachel. Batman arrives too late and Gordon is held back by the cops, the building goes boom and Batman stands over the debris. Everyone thinks Dent is dead and Rachel is missing. That or she goes splat at the party (given the dress she's wearing) and Dent is kidnapped and scarred. But I almost think the fall is a red herring and Batman will be able to save her that time but not the next time.

The other thing I go back to is that first teaser where the joker says tonight people will die. I'm a man of my word. That seems like a broadcast message, a challenge for Batman to come to the rescue, only he's not quick enough to save Rachel.

I hope Batman has a ****-load of Neosporin in that utility belt.

That's pretty sick. Thank Christ it's Margarita Monday, because after seeing that image, I need a drink.

I doubt they pushed it that far...concept art is generally just that. But if they somehow had the balls to use this...man, oh man. This is actually much closer to Darkman, which is fantastic.

(In Nolan's world of realism, wouldn't that get infected?)

Well the coloring seems to match the scars in the trailer so it's certainly possible. That pic is creepy no doubt. I'm hoping it's a little less in the movie because that's a bit nauseating to look at. I love that they are going that route, but I may be looking away quite a bit during the movie tongue

And Adam West once expressed concern that "the kids will be scared" by the Burton Batman films. Goodness gracious that's horrid.

Two-Face is scary to begin with. Most kids anymore will think that's "******* awesome!" and won't be affected at all.

If that's a legit picture, which it definitely looks like it could be, it is a very cool one. Looks like everything Eckhart said about Nolan taking it a step farther was true.
