I'll check this show out since it's being done by some former DS9 people. DS9 was the best trek and the DS9 writers have branched out and made some very good tv shows. I hope this will be one of them.

That, and and the SciFi channel has gotten a good string of luck lately with TV shows. Battlestar, Eureka. Let's hope that Painkiller Jane doesn't bring down the bar.

The movie event that they did for Painkiller Jane looked kinda eh, and the series isn't connected to that, so who knows. Could be interesting.
A couple of reviews for the Dresden Files have popped up online, concensus is mediocre. Both reviews that I found said that it seemed too much like Angel and the X-Files, and not original enough. Eh.

I am actually very excited about this series. The books were great(thanks Dajuan). Fairies, werewolves, vampires, and magic, all in a detective story. Awesome!

It was ok. I was hoping for more of a running mystery, not just a crime an episode. But it'll take a couple more episodes before I decide on it fully. Harry needs to turn his sarcasticness on.

Sadly enough this wasn't the intended first episode, they just changed the order to make it a Premiere.
I can understand why you'd want to get his back story in but it just seems like an odd choice to use given how much the pacing was slowed by the constant flash backs.

Yeah, I noticed there was a lot of background missing there. I ended up having to fill in my friends as to who Harry was really, what his job was and all that. So they are Firefly-ing this show, joy.

Yeah, I was under the impression that they'd start with the pilot, which was based off of Storm Front.
Overall, I liked it, but it needs a little work and to pick up some steam, which isn't unrealistic for a completely new show. I was a bit iffy about Supernatural when that came out, and look where we are now.
I kinda wish that Dresden, Bob and Murphy would be a little more sarcastic and abrasive, like they are in the books.
