You see, the Millennium Bridge was actually built many years before. After Voldemort had it destroyed, they wiped the memory of it away from every Muggle, and gave them an idea to build a bridge there!
As for 2 1/2 hour movies VS 2 movies:
1.) Why not make it a THREE hour movie? Didn't hurt LOTR sales, and we know Harry Potter is at least as popular.
2.) In these old movies they used to have halfway intermission times. Maybe they could bring that back?
Where would they split it? Dobby's death? Or maybe the capture right before it, to end on a cliffhanger?

Well, LOTR was much better-received than any of the HP movies have been, so the audience was more forgiving of the length in that case. The number one complaint of the first two HP movies was that they were too long, which is why the next three movies have all been shorter. People generally just don't have the patience for long movies unless that movie has Hobbits or sinking ships.

I suppose you mean well-received critically, timmoishere, since the box office receipts for the HP films is in the same $275-300 million range as the LOTR films.
I would also suggest that the demand for a shorter running time with HP movies is based on its perception as a series of children's films, which according to their genre are short and sweet. Little kids get impatient with long movies, a factor the LOTR movies did not have to contend with because of their rating and their older demographic.

DH will be split into two. Hopefully the first one won't be all camping.

That is sweet-tacular news. Fans have been calling for a two-film expansion since GoF. Yates is popular with the cast because he brings the best out of them. My faith in the final movies in the series is growing.

I simply can't wait for HBP, it's going to be an awesome movie, as long as they don't butcher it like they did GoF.
But, if it's possible, I'm looking forward to the DH even more. It's my favorite book, and there's no way they can cut lots of stuff out like the other movies. I wholeheartedly support their decision to split it. I just hope the first DH isn't too boring...

I think the core reasons fans didn't like OotP lie with the script problems, not with the directorial effort. Yates was a first-time director with OotP, and yet that film showcases the best performances by our beloved cast members to date. It also has a gritty, real-world quality that its predecessors, brilliant though I believe them to be, lack. Now we have Kloves back in the writer's chair, and with a deeper seasoning of Yates' magisterial talents, HBP and DH 1 & 2 promise to be masterpieces of the medium.

I'm hoping that to be the case, but even with that small sliver of hope, I still only have a single crap movie to judge this guy with, 'tis why I'd much rather they wait until HBP comes out before making anything final.

It's official: Deathly Hallows will be split into two films:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7293513.stm
Final Potter film split in half
The Potter films have made around £2.2bn at the box office
The seventh and final Harry Potter book will be adapted for the big screen in two parts, Warner Bros has confirmed.
The announcement comes after producer David Heyman admitted it was impossible to cram Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows' 608 pages into a single movie.
"You cannot remove elements of this book," he told the Los Angeles Times.
Fans of the series have been left disappointed in the past when key scenes, including Quidditch matches, were excised for the film adaptations.
The seventh book doesn't really have any subplots. It's one driving, pounding story from the word go
Daniel Radcliffe
Star Daniel Radcliffe told the Los Angeles Times that splitting JK Rowling's final book in two was the only sensible option for the film-makers.
"There have been compartmentalised subplots in the other books that have made them easier to cut - although those cuts were still to the horror of some fans," he told the paper.
"The seventh book doesn't really have any subplots. It's one driving, pounding story from the word go."
In a statement, Jeff Robinov, president of Warner Bros, added that the split release was "the best way to do the book, and its many fans, justice".
'Exhilarating journey'
The Kill Bill strategy will also have the benefit of boosting profits at the film studio.
The first five movies have made $4.5 billion (£2.2 billion) worldwide - making it the biggest film franchise in box office history, surpassing both James Bond and Star Wars.
Filming for the sixth chapter in the series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, began in September last year.
It is being directed by David Yates, who will also helm the final two films.
"I consider it a great privilege to continue to bring Jo's extraordinary world to the screen, and to be the director to complete this epic and exhilarating journey," he said.
The first instalment of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows is due in autumn 2010, with part two scheduled for the following summer.

Not my preference, but I'll live. It's better than them cutting anything out, much better.
Just... WHERE WILL THEY DIVIDE IT?
I thought about it more, and I say sometime between Ron's return and Dobby's death. They need to pick a place where something important is wrapped up but also a cliffhanger, somewhere in the middle. Llike finding Gryffindor's sword & finally destroying that horcrux with the return of Ron, or Harry getting so excited about Deathly Hallows he mentions Voldemot's name & they are seen being captured by Greyback and approaching Malfoy Manor.
Another thing, what will each movie be called? Just "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I/II"?

I think that splitting DH into two films is the best decision they could have made. But I'm also pondering where they'll split it. I like Darth-Ghost's prediction of stopping when Ron comes back, but I guess we have no way of knowing.

Since it will be split into two movies im hoping it will be better than all others cause they have the time to do it properly. Also they shouldn't leave much out either.

I think it will be split around the time of Dobby's funeral.
