Only with TV. Sci-fi shows just aren't marketable. Heroes and Lost are too odd exceptions these days. Besides Star Trek successful Sci-Fi shows are few and far between.

Sci-fi fans the world around...there is an answer to your plight.

Get a dvd player that plays region 0 and then order seasons from the US. If you truly are waiting a year, year and a half...most studios can barely keep a season off the shelves long enough for it to end on TV here...surely it would expedite things for you.

Call me cheap, but I hate the idea of buying something when I know if I can just hold out long enough I can see it for free.

Well, we can get a moderate region0 DVD player here for about $40 in the US. May run more.
And we have this wonderful thing called Netflix, so when it comes out on DVD, we can rent it, watch it, and send it back.

... except for Stargate SG-1, Stargate:Atlantis, Battlestar Galactica (70s and modern), Babylon 5, The Six Million Dollar Man, The Bionic Woman, and The Hulk.

Hey, everyone. Happy New Years to all. Quick question to the masses. 1. Why is it so hard to hook a sci-fi/fantasy film admirer? What are the principle elements we look for in a good sci-fi/fantasy film? Another question. Hey, has anyone heard anything about that new fantasy film in the works? A friend of mine was telling me about it. It's called " The Dragon Empress". I heard it's suppose to be wicked sick. I have two people tell me it's suppose to be better than, 300!

Trek was canceled too, and after something like 70-some-odd episodes, if memory serves... LOST and Heroes are only successful because they were overnight phenomenons. And, as with all TV shows these days, if it's not a hit in the first tree weeks, it's outta here...
