Starship Troopers Marauder Trailer

According to interviews with cast and crew, this one is supposed to be closer to the book, with power suits and "other" references.
Trailer looks good n' cheesy. Some effects looks spotty, but they've still got 5 months untill release. Hopefully they're still working on FX.

As Denise Richards got me to watch Starship Troopers,
Jolene Blalock will get me to watch this one.
Hopefully we'll be rewarded with some gratuitous and pointless fanservice.

I'm just glad to see that Johnny Rico is back. I seriously doubt that they could even attempt to get close to the book. And even if they did, it wouldn't really make for a good movie. Too slow, too much time spent on how the military functions, not to mention Rico's pops was killed already and there's not much hope of him joining the infantry. It'd be nice if we got a look at the Skinnies though.

As much as I would love to see Starship Troopers done right... this version is still so over the top campy-cheesy looking that I can't take it seriously. And after re-reading the book, I was astounded at how non-cheesy the book was. For as old as it is, it is still pretty accurate (to military life) and insightful. Not campy. Not cheesy. Not. Crap. Like. This.
And give me a break: going up against swarms of bugs with nothing more than a barely souped-up M-16 and b-grade body armor, yet you have interstellar travel? Give me a break. If this comes out at the red box and I can get it for $1.00, I might see it. It's not worth more than that.

Apparently Mr. Busey was too busy to do a DTV movie. Or maybe it's because they shot this film in South Africa, and the athorities would prefer that Mr. Busey not leave the country.
