I am looking for one or several blender modellers to build 3 characters for my next movie. I can't pay you unfortunatly. I can do the animation, it's just my modelling skills are no where near good enough for what I need. For a description and concept art of creatures visit http://boards.theforce.net/fan_films/b10015/27166316/p1/?4.
Any help would be great.

well, after reading some other forums containing advice on this a figured i'd give it a try.
some friends and i are in the process of making a fanfilm, but not many of us have any great skill with Computer animation.
i am hereby asking for any help that can be provided, whether it be actual footage that is made, or suggestions on programs that can be used, computer models etc
hopefully the majority being the first in that list...actual footage
(as such, anyone providing me with footage which gets into my film will have their name mentioned in the credits under 'computer animators', if they so wish. I wish i could pay you and depending on our financial situation once sets, props, costumes etc have been ordered is figured out we may be able to pay a small amount, but you will of course be given full credit for your work)
at this point there are two shots i am desperate for, for inclusion in a short demo trailer that i'm planning to arrange to be shown at a local 30th anniversary expo, as they'll be having a fan film night.
those shots are as follows
SHOT 1 - the easiest way for me to explain this shot is by referring to its inspiration.
in Jedi Knight 2 - Jedi outcast, just after luke and dessan have fought there are several shots showing the 'doomgiver' first detaching and then movin out for under an asteroid.
this first shot i need is virtually identical except that i only need the 'initial drop down and engine igniution' at this time and more importantly, it will be a dark grey SUPER STAR DESTROYER as seen in Empire strikes back and Return of the jedi.
SHOT 2 - the second shot will be easier to explain. In Empire Strikes back, Vader orders the Executor out of the hoth asteroid field so he can speak to the emperor.
this second shot is pretty much identicle to the shot of the SUPER STAR DESTROYER leaving an asteroid field, but being escorted by a pair of IPERIAL-class STAR DESTROYERS
here is a link to a pic i edited a bit from a screenshot from Empire stikes back to show what i'm talking about
http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/9840/executorik8.jpg
i'm unsure of the processes for submission of this footage, so if someone does submit anythign, please let me know you have and how i can get it
PLEASE ENCODE IN ETHER "WMV" OR "AVI" FORMATS IF POSSIBLE. "MOV' IS OK BUT PREFERABLY THE OTHER TWO.
a huge preemptive thank to all who respond.
i realise that CGI is not that easy but we (me and the other working on the film with me) all kinda suck at actual animation, so we humbly ask for any and all assitance we may be able to get.
if anyone has any questions they would like to ask befor ethey start anything, please feel free to PM me with those questions and i'll get back to you asap
whew long message...sorry
thanks again

RE: ** REQUESTS **

Hello everyone!
I posted this sometime ago in this topic but I am posting an updated request.
--
With filming completed on my fan film, "Ghostbusters: Generation", I am currently in post-production of the film. With a whole rough cut of the feature lentgh film and with little CGI left, I am enlisting additional CGI Artist (specifically modeller/animators/riggers for 3D Studio Max)to join my FX's Team for the film. As of now, I am the only person beside Mr. Hank Braxtan to put this much effort and resources into getting a professional Ghostbusters fan film off the ground and into fruition. This include shooting in NYC and locking shoots in front of the original firehouse and even the center of Time Square amongs other interesting locations.
Here is the web site with the trailer and teaser for the film.:
Website:
www.ghostbustersgeneration.com
CGI/Concept stills including one of two models featured in the film:
http://www.platinumcinema.com/platinum/nyc_eventstart.jpg
http://www.platinumcinema.com/platinum/city_destruction1_web.jpg
http://www.platinumcinema.com/platinum/contact1.jpg
The production value is high and the talents are experienced with every actors being NYC trained and put through the audition process.
We are giving it our all to make a great fan film and something that could help all our careers especially with the amount of promotion this film will be getting in the coming months.
The work load consist various shots include the modelling/animation of the main villian and one of a gelatious slime blob floating thorough the city streets. Either PM me or post in this thread! Please provide quality work for me to review and please be able to animate/rig with 3D Max. Those that get involved will get a free two pack copy of the DVD and, depending on location, will get a seat at the premiere. We will discuss more in detail when you apply.

Not the best representative image from the clip I posted, but this link to photobucket will play a 1m:16s clip from our fan production:
http://s117.photobucket.com/albums/o42/drewjmore/?action=view¤t=AaracsApproach-TransportCannon-quar.flv
What I'm requesting is a ship for the bad guy to fly. He runs up a gangplank (aka 'that inclined table in the shot with the spotter's head sorta visible'), sits down at the controls and begins to attack Aarac (the handsome young jedi ;-p) with the ship's cannons. Aarac manages to deflect one blast back into the repulsor pad, and it skids to a halt. The bad guy then jumps out and hot-wires a cannon to continue firing. How does it end? Help me out, and I'll let you know...
The model will be used all over before & after this scene, and I can do the animation parts myself (I'm using an old version of 3D max at this point). I've got a star-trek-TNG-shuttle-craft-looking proxy model in my working project, and the idea is that the bad guys commandeered a security police SWAT type attack vehicle, to give some more ideas what it should look like.
It's a zero-budget first production for us, but ample credit will be given to anyone who helps us out,
-drew

Does anyone know where I can find a 3D (preference for 3D Studio Max files, but can be any one) model of the Sabaoth Destroyer (Reaver) from the video game "Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter" or the Interdictor-class Cruiser (Leviathan) from the video game "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic".
Any help would be welcome...

Gentlemen, ladies...
May I put in a request for some 3D modelling/animation assistance on my fanfilm, "Knighthood." I am presently in postproduction of this film, and am presently stuck without a CG artist and with several pieces of work I really need to get done before I can go anywhere near releasing this thing. I'd ideally love one person to do all of the things listed below, but if I have to go with one person doing some and another doing some (or more) then I'll deal with it. So could you guys PM me if you're able to assist with any of the following items:
1. A short sequence where five seeker drones (think the one Luke duels on the Millennium Falcon in ANH) are floating around a Jedi padawan, who then takes them out with his lightsaber in quick succession.
2. A short panoramic shot of the Jedi Temple (like the ones we see in the PT to set the scene whenever the Council's meeting)
3. A couple of small ships doing unobtrusive flybys inserted into live footage of the balcony at the Jedi Temple at night. (If not a building or two thrown into the background...)
4. A static shot of the Sith Interceptor from Ep 1 in a closed hangar within the Jedi Temple.
5. A long shot of the Sith Interceptor taking off and blasting out of said hangar and into the night sky (or alternatively a shot from inside the hangar as it takes off.) Also a separate shot of the Interceptor doing a barrel roll as it heads into the sky.
6. (This is probably the biggest part. All of it would be CGed) A series of CG'ed shots of the Sith Interceptor in a "fleeing" (but short) battle with three Z-95 Headhunters. A couple of live-action shots are going to be cut in between some shots.
7. Shots of the Interceptor heading for a planet, leaving a planet, entering hyperspace, leaving hyperspace.
8. A nondescript transport heading for the same planet.
9. A very quick shot of said transport screaming past overhead (as if the camera were lying on the ground looking into the sky) at very low altitude.
10. Another "drone killing" sequence where the drones are more like the interrogation droids from ANH, getting sabered by the padawan -- again inserted into live footage.
Standard (and full) credit for the shots will apply, and you can certainly keep as much of it as you want for folio work or whatever!
I'm fairly desperate, guys. Would be very pleased if you could help...

RE: ** REQUESTS **

Greetings,
My little baby, who is not so little, has finally been edited together and is 85 minutes long. Yup...a full length feature Star Wars fan film. The website is finally up and running: www.swtheforgotten.com. Behind the scenes shots, cast and crew list, biographies, etc. can be found there. Plus when we release the trailers and the movie they will be downloadable (not really a word, but it works) on the website.
However, although we have some CGI people, including a 13 year veteran of the film industry who's worked on films like The Abyss, some of the Star Trek Movies and Superman Movies, we desperately want more. We're not asking for golden results in a week, but we want people who are reasonably "clock" minded. A rough release date is next December...2008. However, if we get motivated and talented people to help then that date can be bumped up.
The point is that if you have talents in any of the following areas, we'd love to have you on board: space battle animations, general space event animations (ships descending to planets, a shuttle cruising past a SSD, etc.), environmental modeling (most of the film was shot green screen, so many of the room locations need to be made).
We're looking for people who are arrogant, confident and determined...because I KNOW I will get quality results out of people like that. Yet remember, this is a fan film and therefore a volunteer operation. This has held true for the professional stunt and makeup people we got from Universal Studios, Orlando to the aforementioned film veteran. Feel free to check out the website at www.swtheforgotten.com and if this project interests you...or if you know someone who might be interested...email me at swtheforgotten@gmail.com.
Respectfully,
Douglas Mallette

How much would it cost me to get someone to make a custom 3D background of a background that was seen in a star wars, because I know it's alot of work, and I would gladly pay?

It depends on the background(complexity). And also realize that if it is a background with Star Wars content in it then it would be illegal for you to pay them for it unless they got permission from Lucasfilm. That's why Scifi3D is around, otherwise most of the models would be on Turbosquid for a lot of money.
