I don't think you can convert the Jedi Starfighter ETA-2. Unless there's a plug-in I don't know about

Import/Export Scripts - Including a .3ds importer.
Or
Floatcode's EZ Tutorial On .3DS (And Friends) Importing
**You will need at least a trial version of 3D Studio Max for this**
STEP 1: Get your .Max, .3DS, or any other 3D Studio Max-importable file ready.
STEP 2: Open 3D Studio Max and open/import the file you would like to import to Blender.
STEP 3: Highlight the mesh or mesh segment that you want imported to Blender with your scroller in the Perspective Window of 3D Studio Max.
STEP 4: Go to file>export. Name your file but don't save it as a .3DS. Instead, where it says "Save Type As", scroll down to StereoLitho (.STL).
Does the StereoLitho (.STL) file type familliar? That's because it's one of the importable file types on Blender (and no, you don't need Python).
Go ahead and save the file, i.e. "yourmeshname.stl".
STEP 5: The last (and most obvious) step here is to open Blender. Go to file>import>STL...
...and import that file!
There! It's done! It works incredibly well (the texture isn't imported, but you could always just re-add it yourself), and you don't have to use any faulty Python scripts!
DON'T PAY: Don't want to pay for 3D Studio Max? Download a trial version and export as many files as you can within the 30-Day evaluation!

So my 3ds plug-in works for max files? Ok, I didn't know that.
Edit: OK I take that back. You can't. I didn't find a plug-in on the ling you gave for .max files

Sadly, there isn't a plug-in out there that can read .max files - you'll have to use the demo for 3DS Max or possibly a tool like Deep Exploration for that.
Good luck!

Dang. Then I need someone to convert the Jedi Starfighter ETA2 from a .max file to a .3ds or .lwo. And yes I need all .max files that are contained in the zip file converted.

I think even for Deep Exploration you need 3ds Max installed on your system to convert .max files.

You're probably right - the only time I've used it was when Max was installed so I'm not sure one way or the other. Sounds perfectly logical though.

Press the Scene Button (F10)
On the far right top line, specify the file path.
On the far right change JPG to MOV
Under the Anim tab, specify the range of frames, then press ANIM.

Hey... i have a few questions on modelling specific things in Blender...
1. How would i go about modelling the Mortal Kombat Symbol? You know... the dragon pendant. WOuld i have to basically eye it? or is there some way to bring a picture into blender for referance.
2. Water, i've tried and tried but cant seem to figure out how to make water in blender... I really need it for something i'm working on.
Thanks
