Hi guys,
Well been a while since I posted any updates, been busy with one thing or another, got several projects on at the mo.
First a quick note, if you have emailed me re: helping out on a fanfilm I have tried to reply to all and dig in where I can, if you have not heard back from me (sorry), please pop me another mail and I will get back to you
This is a ATST I am doing for Star Wars: A Rising Threat - http://www.arisingthreat.com/
Its not quite finished yet, but wanted to pose him and see how he looks, hopefully it looks good
Mesh is all but complete, getting stuck into texturing of which his head is complete (main mesh), I am yet to do the undercarriage, side and front cannons and of couse the lower adomen and legs
Comments, feedback as ever welcomed
Cheers,
Wiz.
Ps - R2 is undergoing some re-texturing as I continue to get to grips with Mental Ray, Tantive Corridor floor having a final pass on texturing and then all is done I hope soon to be able to post completed (well considered completed :P) work on both of them pieces.

Why does it look cartoonish to me? I think it's that black outline and the lighting.
Still, nice job.

Thanks guys,
The black outline does appear to give it a cartoon look, and I have a several specular lights pointing at it so they are adding the highlights which isnt helping
Yeah really looking forward to getting this one finished should be soon!
The work being done on the film is looking great, some really fantastic stuff being done!
An update soon
Cheers,
Wiz.

Hi thanks for the feedback guys,
CA_Wingardh
Just checked out images of the ATST model in IMPS and there are of course similarities as they are both based on existing designs But I dont think they are too alike in the detailing???
Maybe the pose or the similarity in the composition perhaps?
Cheers,
Wiz.

I'd use higher resolution textures, perhaps even photos like on cgtextures.com
A lot of your great modelling detail goes to waste when you don't have nice textures (gives it that video game look).

Thanks for the link!
The end product, (once i have done a rough pass and then a final revisit) should hopefully have a more photorealistic look to it, moving away from the game model style. This texture site will help a lot
Should get a chance to work on this fella at the weekend, also will have updates on my corridor and r2... and one day i hope to finish all the projects i am working on (is that a flying pig i see), so keep posted
Cheers,
Wiz.
