Good job, but one thing I noticed is that you've got reflections on it, it seems the metal would be too rough from all of the heat to have reflections.

Good! Try making other land marks from Mustafar, because the collector arm and the balcony are over done.

Reflections make it look worse, and less proffessional, it doesn't make any sense at all.

There are a lot of things around here that are done a lot. Doesn't matter. Look at all the x-wings that have been built. It just may not excite some. Anything good excites me.
Which brings me to my next point. I think it's even more noticable on close-ups that your detailing falls apart. You need to add more detailing and work on rounding/beveling edges or something. The edges everywhere are so sharp. It sorta looks like a real-time game model. Usually people learn how to model basics first then work on this next. So you're doing good so far.
I think we're already hosting two WIP's on this set so far and they're a lot more detailed. Who knows... you may finish yours first and work on your modelling a bit more and beat them.

That's pretty good after one month only. Then, yes, reflection does NOT make it look better. Sure it looks fancy, but it's a bit a n00b trick, like combos of video post or atmospheric effects in 3ds max.
But keep going, your on the right path

The better alternative to having simple reflections is to render a specular pass and then composite it externally. Cinema4d might even have internal compositing, I'm not sure.
Good start, btw.

I hate bump maps! hate them to death. From far away, yes. But for close-ups they look horrible.
In your case, I would possibly get higher resolution textures, change your bump maps to displacement maps, and lower the specular, highlighting, ambiency, ect. So it doesn't appear so shiny.
Other than that, you have a pretty good model here.

The maps aren't that bad, but they are too small, in some places you can see the individual pixels of the map. The specularity definately needs to be turned down, in fact it doesn't even look like you are using bump maps so it might be a good idea to add them. Also turn up the glossiness because the highlights are too large.
