animating a rope in 3d studio max?
Hello everyone!
Ive seem to run myself into a problem here. I need an animated rope/cord in 3d studio max for a shot im working on. I used the line tool and tried to animate the points on it, but it keeps snapping back to its original location every time i scrub through it. Ive checked and checked again and im POSITIVE i did not mess up with the keyframing, im sure it has to be some sort of restriction that max has.
Basically, i just need a bit of guidance on how to animate a rope in 3ds max. I would prefer to do it by hand, but a rope modifier wouldnt be too bad to deal with, i tried and failed at that a few times
So, if anyone has any super amazing tutorials or words of wisdom, id like to hear it.
Thanks!
Mike

You could try and figure out the reactor rope system which would do what you need, you could also try and use bones you could easily animate.
