Can I suggest booking somewhere to eat in the evening?
I'd like to meet you all but I'm working on Saturday, so going somewhere after 5pm would be good.

well, you'll never get a table at Mother India (the best curry hoose) for a saturday night at this short notice....
but around Charing Cross (west end of Sauchiehall St) there are a dozen or so curry houses that will do the job acceptably. There are also three chinese buffet establishments, if that is yir thing.
One suggestion. The Bunker, on Bath St, parallel to Sauchiehall, is a nice modern bar, with a good all-purpose menu, and the most lovely sunken circular tables up the back (very cantina indeed) and a phone call to them roundabout today, specifically booking one of those sunken tables for a meal saturday evenong, should be in time to secure one, which is easily big enough for a party of 10 or so.
Unfortunately, I will not be joining you, as I've been called to london on band business this weekend (new album came out last week, so that side of my time is a bit busier than usual). Hope you have fun. It looks like being a clear frosty weekend, which is ideal.
To summarise:
• shopping —Parney St shops / barrowland antique markets (merchant city and east) Forbidden Planet (buchanan st)
• tourism — bus tour (from George Square) then Kelvingrove Museum (west end of sauchehall/argyle)
• food — the Bunker (off sauchiehall)
• drink — Nice and Sleazy (sauchiehall), Firewater (sauchiehall), a thousand other pubs

Indian Orchard in Partick is AWESOME. Not too far from City Centre but not sure how easily people can travel.

Yes guys it was a great first meet of the (AEA) Anti Ewok Alliance, you guys were awesome and I had a really enjoyable day! I think we should plan on organising a Christmas meet so keep watching the pages for updates. Hopefully we can build up the membership and make this little acorn grow into a really sociable big oak!
Take it easy and TTYL
