the man has dementia and very little mind left
judge knew that prison service would have just spat him straight back out to specialist care
pub ban was seen as the punishment that would restrict him the most.
fair enough.
personally sick of tabloids/Mail/Express whipping up the middle classes with these kind of selectively written "you couldn't make it up" outrage stories

Although, having seen wife beating continue well into the senior years of a couple, her side of the family must be sensing injustice.
