Thanks for all the updates & clarifications, Crovus... sorry to trouble you with posting all these mundane little details when you have bigger fires to fight... glad we cleared up the little miscommunication between us though, turns out that we have a “common enemy” after all... ie. certain small-minded folks who want to have all this media hype and glory, but not willing to fork out the required budget to support such a major promotional event, which in the first place is for their own benefit, and not so much ours... LOL! 
OK, just to make sure that everything is absolutely crystal clear for everyone who is involved, allow me to summarise everything that’s been said so far...
IMPT NOTE:
If you are actually getting dressed up this Sunday & want to participate in the SW Parade, pls ensure that your name is already on the list below… this registration list is for SW Parade participants only!

So here’s the program, especially for all FFSG members & anyone else who might wanna join us or say hello to us along the way!
SW Parade
Date: Sunday, 6 Nov 2005
Time: 11.00am
Place: Orchard MRT Station
Here’s what our schedule for the day will look like...
11.00am:
FFSG meets at Orchard MRT Station.
11.15am:
Early lunch at the Burger King next to Borders.
12.15pm:
Proceed to Far East Shopping Centre.
12.20pm:
Reach Far East Shopping Centre.
Get ready for the SW Parade.
Singapore Science Centre is providing us with an office place to suit up & store our personal belongings in.
The exact address of the office is to be advised.
(JediClare, I will pass you my FX lightsaber when we put our belongings in the office).
1.20pm:
Meet with everyone involved in the SW Parade, outside Far East Shopping Centre.
1.30pm – 2.30pm:
Begin the SW Parade.
Walk from Far East Shopping Centre to Ngee Ann City.
Photo Opp in front of Ngee Ann City.
Board lifts to Orchard Library.
2.30pm:
Arrive at Orchard Library.
Photo Opp at Orchard Library.
Take a break in designated meeting room(s).
End of SW Parade.
Head back to Far East Shopping Centre to collect our belongings from the office provided.
VERY IMPT:
1) The schedule above will be strictly adhered to on that day!
2) Any latecomers will be left behind, or will just have to meet us at the next location.
3) Anyone who is registered as a participant in the parade, but who is still unable to meet us by 1.20pm outside Far East Shopping Centre will be excluded from the SW Parade, and will therefore not receive any freebies given out to us on that day.

Hi all,
I have asked Jason "Crovus" to help me out to post here with regards to the parade and job employment opportunities for the exhibition.
MovieMania is helping SC for the exhibition and even the chartered bus is paid for by my own pocket...
I personally am disappointed when they cancelled the hotel room which I fought hard to get and they substitute now for an office to change at Far East SC.
Previously, FFSG never take any rewards and had to change at toilets also...but that is not enough for MM. I hope the fans here will at least be pleased that they all confirmed will be getting some exclusive SW stuff such as posters, notebooks and Free Admission tickets for opening day when they dress up.
Pls help register with Crovus and make his job easier also...
I never asked for any credit at all or thanks from the fans here and have been busy working to organise this event at my own costs.
MovieMania is a thematic replica costume company and SW is just one of our events we run...I hope MM does not sound arrogant or Elite but we do have corporate clients also who want quality costumes.

The office at Far East SC where there will be a changing room and storage for Sunday is as follows:
(Company name is DFS Convenience Food System, #09-04).
1330 - Costumers leave Far East Shopping Centre
1340 - Parade begins at Wheelock Place (Outside Zara)
1350 - Parade crosses the road and heads towards Orchard MRT (Photo Opp)
1355 - Parade to stop in front of Orchard MRT station (Photo Opp)
1405 - Parade heads towards Ngee Ann City
1415 - Arrive at Ngee Ann City - stop at the fountain, next to the 7-11. (Photo Opp)
1420 - Walk into Ngee Ann City, board elevator no 21 or 22 (behind Cartier) to level 5.
1425 - On level 5, turn right at Zingdo Restaurant and walk towards library
1430 - Arrive at Orchard Library
This is the finalized plan ....
The only Difference is that MM has arranged a bus to pick us up at Ngee Ann at 3pm to fetch us back to MM office and meantime drop off some costumers back at Far East SC.
Remember its a SW event and we are all SW fans also...

Thanks for posting further details of the SW Parade above.
Crovus also has our backing to post the latest info & updates here with regards to anything that has to do with the Science Centre exhibition and its related events, including job opportunities.
In case no one has mentioned it to you yet... my issues are NOT with MM, but with the Singapore Science Centre, for being such scrooges and for taking us for granted, like as if we (both MM and FFSG) are just worthless slave labour... yes, it's true that as fans, most of us would probably want to be involved in Sunday's SW Parade, even if it was for no rewards at all... but does the Singapore Science Centre have to take advantage of our love for Star Wars and exploit us to such a great degree??
Like I said before, it looks like both MM and FFSG have a "common enemy" here... we're both disappointed about the lack of a hotel room at the last minute... and while we're glad that at least we're getting some office space and some freebies, the fact of the matter is that this is a promotional event for the Singapore Science Centre, and if none of us shows up on Sunday... quite simply put... they can wave goodbye to their promotional event... and in short, they are screwed.
Because right now, there is nothing in black and white to bind either MM or FFSG to show up for Sunday's SW Parade... and none of us has received any payment in cash or kind yet from the Singapore Science Centre to show up for this promotional event of theirs... or is there some deal that MM has already struck up with them that we still don't know about??
While it's true that FFSG has previously NOT asked for any rewards to do costume parades, one has to keep in mind that all our previous costume parades were organised by FFSG for Star Wars fans, and not organised by any other external corporate company or organisation.
All our previous costume parades were done for the pure love of Star Wars... when AOTC came out, we had a costume parade... and when ROTS came out, we had a costume parade as well.
If there was media coverage or attention of any kind, it wasn't a case of us pre-arranging for it to happen months and months in advance, but more a case of it just happened to happen... it was more like, "hey, we're going to have this costume parade thingie going on, but Fox heard about it and would like to film it, so OK let them tag along with us and film away"... so it's not like we were having these costume parades because a corporate company organised it for us, and asked us to show up for it, for the main purpose of creating media hype and promoting the movies.
All our past costume parades were organised by FanForce Singapore for the benefit and enjoyment of ALL STAR WARS FANS, and no one funded it for us, or told us what we could or could not do. It was just a bunch of Star Wars fans who took to the streets in their self-made Star Wars costumes for the sheer love of Star Wars, and wanting to celebrate the release of yet another Star Wars movie. That's all.
So of course, there were no rewards involved, because there were no corporate organisers or sponsors involved... and the only reward for us was that we could share our love and interest in Star Wars with others of the same heart and mind, and enjoy the company of those who could also discuss and talk about "Star Wars" with us. Our previous costume parades were a chance for Star Wars fans to get together, socialise, mix and mingle, and enjoy Star Wars together... they were not even organised for the main purpose of promoting our group, or getting any kind of media attention for our group, they were just organised by fans for other fans.
In this case, however, this costume parade was organised by a corporate organisation, the Singapore Science Centre... and in fact, FanForce Singapore was actually asked to show up, in order to make up the numbers, otherwise there would be too few costumed characters taking part in what is supposed to be this incredibly hyped-up media event to promote the Star Wars exhibition at the Singapore Science Centre... which is why we were expecting to get some rewards for this... the Singapore Science Centre needs us for their promotional event, and not the other way around... because we don't need to do it for them, we've already done parades for ourselves before without any company or organisation telling us that we needed to do it for them.
This SW Parade is an official promotional event for the Singapore Science Centre, and not just one of our unofficial FanForce Singapore costume parade get-togethers.
Let's just put it this way... if the Singapore Science Centre were to hire 24 Star Wars characters at market price, it would cost them far more than just the price of a hotel room at corporate rate at the Royal Plaza Scotts, a bus, and some freebies... you are working in an events company that hires out professional costumed characters for movie-related promotional events, and I am working in the hospitality industry, so we should both know that the Singapore Science Centre is really getting a very good bargain here... not only that, but they are practically selling us short too, and we're actually allowing them to do so... LOL!
We must really be fools in love with Star Wars to be doing this for them... if nothing else, it should be the Singapore Science Centre thanking BOTH MM and FFSG for doing all this for them for practically peanuts... 'cos if we didn't do it, they'd have to hire monkeys instead, and even the Singapore Zoo will charge them for things like that nowadays... LOL!
Perhaps they are forgetting that it is fans like us who will be their most ardent repeat customers when the Star Wars exhibition starts... and without the support of others like us around the world who have also fallen in love with the Star Wars movies... their exhibition will not be such a success, as it is obviously expected to be.
So really... a hotel room, a bus, and free tickets for all parade participants to the Star Wars exhibition is a small price to pay for more than 20 Star Wars characters to show up for their promotional event... that's all I'm saying here.
I just want everyone taking part in this parade to get something in return for the money they put into their costumes, the time they will be taking to prepare and to show up for this parade, and whatever transport costs and lunch money they might have to incurr just to take part in this SW Parade... and this is not even a parade that's just for the fans alone, but one that is for the main purpose of creating media hype and glory for the Singapore Science Centre - an organisation that somehow thinks that despite all this, the more than 20 of us who are supposed to show up for THEIR PROMOTIONAL SW PARADE are still not quite worth the cost of a hotel room, a bus, and free tickets.
In that case, ask them to hire Star Wars characters elsewhere in the market at market price then... might not be able to get enough of these characters here in Singapore, and if they hire them from overseas, they've also got to incurr travel, accommodation and transport costs, in addition to the usual hiring fees.
Let's put it this way... if the Singapore Science Centre were to try to pull anything else funny with us, or if they continue to take us for granted any further than we already have been, we could just not show up on Sunday at all... and there's nothing they can do about it, except to apologise, red-faced, to all the photographers and camera crew from the media who showed up for nothing and just wasted their precious time on a Sunday afternoon to cover a media event that just didn't happen at all.
Now how's that for hype??

Sunday will be an event for star wars fans. I respect MM's quality they have to promise as they have paying clients. We fan-made costumers, will be there to support MM and to create the hype of AoSW...

My 2 cents worth, and just MY 2 cents worth.
This whole thing got blown way out of proportion.
Ever played broken telephone? Seems to me, messages gets really mixed up and miscommunicated becoz too many parties think we/they know what's going on and pass information that may or may not be correct. That causes a lot of misinterpretation and misunderstanding.
I can only ask that you guys trust me to get things done for you guys. And go into this with the mentality of fans enjoy a fan activity. End of the day, I'm doing all this not for SSC but for the fan in me, and hopefully for the fans in Singapore. The aim all along was to let local fans enjoy this Sunday. A sort of getting one step closer to our American and European peers with their major parades and activities. The whole creating hype for SSC has never occured to me and hence never became an issue for me. I've been looking forward to this Sunday as a day that I can march down Orchard Rd proud in my SW costume(if it can be rushed out that is) with most, if not all, SW fans in Singapore. And to enjoy the moment, atmosphere and share my passion with like-minded people. Sort of re-living the moment of Epi 3 all over again. This may well be the last SW major event ever, and as of right now, I'm guessing the few of us are hating it more than enjoying it. All this so-called "red-tape" and "politics" is really bogging everyone down.
Let's just put it all behind us and enjoy this Sunday. And I humbly ask also that any info that has been fed to FFSG outside Reno and myself, regardless of who it is, that you guys take it with a grain of salt. Or to put it in SW talk, 'non-canon'. I'm not saying that we are the bosses of this or anything, or even that we are on a higher plane that everyone else. It's just that Reno is in direct contact with SSC higher-ups, and I'm in constant contact with Reno (for matters of this parade and more). When the chain of communication gets too varied, things have a way of screwing up. So let's just work with one direct line of communication, to get things done to let all fans enjoy this Sunday.

OK guys... just one more thing to add here... DE and I have had a discussion earlier today, and after the SW Parade this Sunday, we'd like to have an official FFSG meeting... something we haven't done in some time and really should be doing more often.
The main topic of discussion is "Revamping FFSG".
We'd like to invite as many FFSG folks as possible to join us for this meeting, and to play a more active role in FFSG, a fan group run by the fans, for the benefit and enjoyment of other fans.
I will be posting more info about this meeting in the "Revamp" thread started by CoolVirus, so pls keep your eyes peeled for more info on this historic meeting that could possibly have the potential to change a lot of things in this group, and perhaps for the better.
All FFSG folks, pls feel free to attend this meeting, especially if you would like to make an active contribution to this group... and if you have any ideas to contribute, pls do share them with us during this meeting.
If you are unable to make it for this meeting, but would still like to be heard, then pls PM me, or call me, and let me know what you would like to share with the group, and I will bring it up during the meeting on your behalf.
FFSG has always been a group that was built upon the love of Star Wars, run by the fans, for the fans... let us share with you what FFSG has been all about, and together during this meeting, let us make FFSG even better than it is today.
Everyone is welcome to join us for this meeting, and I mean EVERYONE.
So pls stay tuned to the "Revamp" thread for more details on exactly where and when this meeting will be held...

i'm not too sure if crovus would be able to help me loan me a costume, but i'll come down in a sw tee nontheless. not sure about lunch coz i'm like broke as usual, hopefully i can get there by 11am coz unfortunately my platoon has guard duty on sat. starts at 7.30am on sat and ends on sun 7.30am.. and i have to book back in by 4.30pm the same day but i'm sure i can squeeze some time. so we'll see
it'll be nice to see everyone else, i miss everyone so much!

Hey guys... Wow... I'm reading this thread for the first time (um I just got back and have been really busy ever since) and just getting really confuzzled about all the angry spirits...
Not very sure what's going on, except that I think tomorrow's event's gonna be great. You guys will make it great!
As for whether I'll be there, I'll try my very best to pop by but I cant promise anything now... (I've no costume btw) Have fun!!
