So, is anything happening tomorrow?
I'll drop by Trafalgar Sq after 12, just in case anyone shows up, cause I need to venture a bit south, to stash up on some comics in the Forbidden planet, which is quite close.
Cobra, hope you feel better soon.
If there is something next week, I won't make it because of my assessed fieldwork.

We have until July, it's 3 meets per year, and we've had 3 meets since July (quickplan CE meet, Portsmouth and Salisbury).

Sorry I haven't been around (the usual coursework excuse, I'm afraid) and I won't be able to make anything due to my money running away... 
Guess that's the problem with having a chapter with so many students in it - we're all very much time and money poor Roll on June time!

We're safe until July. I'm thinking of trying to get a merger with London though, as it gets more members available to us to meet up with and have them being counted for the meets
Also, considering my CRship runs out in July, people need to start wondering who's going to have time to take over from me

You can put yourself up for re-election you know.
As for merging with London, Hal and I are both currently against the idea. The South is in nowhere near the dire straits that the Welsh chapter was in when we merged it with the Midlands. Any talk/decision on even just the possibility of a merger is a long way off yet. Keep at it, and I'm sure that you'll get your 3 meets a year

Well, I probably won't run for re-election (I'll be out of the country for a month, so not the mark of a good CR anyway ), and as I said, if we were to merge with London we'd get more members able to meet up, because the South lot are all over the place and unable to get to anywhere else.
Though I think we could split the South into pieces. Otto's original idea was the 3 areas (North, West, East). We've had one meet in West (Salisbury), two in East (Portsmouth) and two in North (Collectormania). I could see the East part becoming joined with London, the North bit maybe adding onto the Midlands (we don't have any active members from around there anyway now, IIRC), and the South-West could maybe rally around the old Plymouth chapter thing.
But I'm being silly now. I can't forsee a meet happening anytime soon. Two months in a row I've tried to get something together, only for them to fail. I don't see why it would change suddenly.
And of course, when everyone else finishes school/college, I'm going abroad for a month, so I won't be any help then either.
The only hope I have is that some of the South-Westies can pull themselves together and organise a meet for themselves.

As for splitting into smaller groups, Sie and I are both currently against the idea. The South doesn't generate the traffic that the North chapter had when it split into East and West. Any talk/decision on even just the possibility of a split is a long way off yet. Keep at it, and I'm sure that you'll get your 3 meets a year
